I use mine differently every week as I need them. Running task list, shopping list, next week, brain dump....
highlight of the day / gratitude / decoration, if you don't need it for something else
1. Gratitude log 2. Meal planning 3. Meditation duration log 4. Temperature 5. Each week with a theme, ex: Theme Scandinavia, Monday could be something about Finland, Tuesday about Sweden, Wednesday about Norway, etc. 6. Doodle about the day 7. Poem or quote or word for the day. 8. Sunrise/Sunset time (it is interesting to see this over a period in a year) 9. Steps count 10. Moon phase
These are few of the interesting ones...
I use that little corner to write memorable things from the day. Then I use what I wrote as prompts for my memory keeping journal.

I'm with you on the smudging. I use a tissue (like Kleenex, not the gift wrap kind) in between the paper. It's soft enough, stays in place, and doesn't chunk up the planner while the ink dries. Love the vid!

I am with you 100% on everything you said (positives and negatives) regarding the Hobonichi. I am new to the world of Hobonichi this year after YEARS of bullet journaling. I like your minimal style. I am using the Cousin at present but have been curious about the weeks, so we'll see. I am not sure how I would do in that one. Thank you for sharing!!

I had the exact same problem with my pens smudging especially my beloved fountain pens. I ended up cutting a piece of watercolor paper to fit the size of the pages and whenever I finish writing I stick it between the pages. Some people also use blotting paper. I also switched to the de Atramentis document black ink and I find that it dries a bit quicker.
I've done the exact same thing except with normal printer paper, and it's working alright so far... I keep hearing about the de Atramentis ink! I'll definitely look into it 😆
Fountain pen inks vary widely in how fast they dry. I use De Atrementis Document Black and it doesn’t smudge.

You can use the left side to track what you eat in the day or meal planning
I actually have a whole other Hobonichi dedicated to my health so that's where I keep track of that! Thank you for the suggestion though 🙏

I got them from a store called Loft in Japan and I think the artist/brand/company that makes these stickers is called "Mizutama"! Hope that helps!
What ink are you using in your fountain pen? I use the Rohrer & Klingner sketchINK in Lotte in my weeks and it dries almost instantly and have zero issues with smudging and I can go over anything with a marker/highlighter without issues as well.
Ooh! I've never heard of it so thank you for suggesting. I'm using the regular Pilot ink that comes with the Pilot Kakuno fountain pen 😂
