I think that grappling is the most human form of ritual combat there is. Pinning another man to the ground is defeating that man. Its something at the core of humanity that is in all of us. Every culture that has existed has a form of grappling, even children do it when they play. It's lessons transfer off the mat into life, its history is carved deep into mythology from the ancients, and it will still be far into the future.
And the International Olympic Committee tries to drop the greatest sport in the world to make room for hopscotch! Tell me that money and corruption isn't a problem!!!
Why cant people defend wrestling without putting down other sports?

Anybody know more videos like this? Wrestling is beautiful. I used to hate grappling of any kind. I boxed since I was about 14. Boxed up until the age of 26. Ultimately a faild career. Didn't go my way, but thats life 🤷. Anyways I tried Jiujitsu for a year...and honestly I hated it. Didn't like the culture or the belts or the costume or anything. I respect Jiujitsu, its powerful, but It wasn't for me. Then my barber, Iranian guy, told me about a Iranian wrestling gym here in London, we even have some former Iranian national teams guys, Georgans, Kyrgyz etc. Some real pedegree. Former asian champ trains with us etc. So I tried it, and it touched something in soul I handt felt since my first sucsesses in boxing. Why do they say wrestling is Hardest?? Well its simple. Its because it requires the most athletic properties out of any fighting sport. Boxing is just as brutal...perhaps less physical..(wrestling you are always physically wrangling with your oponent) but anyone can box if they learn, you dont nessarily have to posses incredible atheleic properties. But in wrestling you do. The bar to learnimg and success is so high. I can recycle alot from boxing, my aggression, distance, timing etc. But aprt from that its a new way of thinking and using my body. Wrestling shoupd be mandatory for all kids at school. At least having the option there. Western Europe has lost its ancient art of wrestling. Anwyas, there is my un-asked for little story.
