Genuinely surprised V does so well on an LP, dude has no trouble speaking and explaining everything perfectly. His voice and mannerism + his tendencies to over-explain everything REALLY remind me of German Spy.

I love how LittleV is that friend who is super pationate about showing you his video game, and he's really nice and giving you gameplay advice. But then it gets to the Story and he's hitting you with like three foreshadowing's per second, to the point of near spoilers.
@@devilord3271 not really. It crashes less than rdr2o and any bethesda title for miles. The only true benefit is extra content, but even then a lot of it is rough, so must be taken with some salt. Dont get me wrong, the people who made it work are saints.

As someone who plays a lot of TTRPGS, primarily 3.5e and Pathfinder, that stat alignment triggers the hell out of me, but I understand Star Wars so it's fine.
16:40 Dude my Force Adept in the Table Top is a Punch Jedi, use Force Powers to pump your stuff and punch like no other, actually keeping up with the Lightsaber almost. The best part is that the character can eventually straight up punch lightsabers out of the way.
As someone who played KOTOR 2 a lot, that build is perfectly fine for KOTOR 2. I'd personally take a couple points out of INT and CHA and invest into DEX or CON, but I understand the build was done to give Woolie the best flexibility. The Build was specifically a generalist build so Woolie could choose his playstyle, and the build is fine for that.
This may be a weird sentiment, but I just wanted to thank Woolie for this playthrough. KoTOR is one of the game series I love, but most of my friends either don't know about it, or don't care. It's nice to have a small little community of people here to enjoy this game together!
I've actually never watched a lp of woolie's (including everything with pat and the best friends stuff) and I have to say with this probably being one of my favorite games of all time I'm really enjoying this playthrough. I'm super happy he has someone whose as knowledgeable of the game and in general fun as this LiitleVMills chap to lead him through this fantastic story given how kotor 2 can be as impenetrable as the original dark souls. That being said, allow me to explain how the jedi sentinel is the worst starting class in the game by a massive margin, and Mills is an UTTER CLOWN and should have his kotor 2 professional license revoked for suggesting it. What class you play determines how many skills, feats, and force powers you get while leveling - guardians get the most feats, sentinels get the most skills, and consulars get the most force powers. This aspect doesn't actually matter too much, as regardless of which class you pick, you'll probably be able to get all the feats and powers you want in the long run no matter what. Even if you're playing on the insane modded difficulty modes I usually do whenever I've replayed this game in the past years, as long as you understand that force speed is the staple ability for melee damage you''ll most likely be pretty op by the time you've hit the second post-telos planet. If you'll forgive the rhyme I think mills is placing way WAY too much importance on skills, as the 20 computer use and 20 repair skill your pc needs to get t3m4's full story is easily achievable with out the meager skill boost you get for playing sentinel - you might just be slightly delayed in how late into the game you get his full story, but for woolie's purpose of just experiencing everything about the story and characters it really makes no difference. Hell, from a narrative perspective it makes far more sense to not get t3m4's full deal until later in the game. Additionally your companions can completely pick up the slack in the skill department as they can pass every non-dialogue and non-awareness skill check for you - the t3m4 story stuff is pretty much the only reason to invest in skills outside of awareness and persuade - outside of that skill points are basically a wasted investment for your main character. The other major difference between the starter classes that actually matters is the passive abilities they get while leveling, and its here that the sentinel falls tragically short. jedi guardians get the force jump ability, which will allow them to instantly jump to and close the distance on enemies and deliver a melee attack with a slight attack and damage boost. The attack and damage boost improves at level 6 and 12, which for a melee-based build dealing with a lot of ranged enemies is absurdly valuable. Meanwhile, consulars get a bonus to their attacking force power save dc, which means itll be harder for enemies to resist their force powers. The level 12 version of this skill gives your force spell dc the equivalent of 8 points in either wisdom or charisma for free (which is fucking huge, given that you can only put one point into your attributes every 4 level ups, and the highest level of gear you get in the end game will only give you up to about + 4 in any one attribute.) Considering how landing a single target or aoe cc like insanity, force stasis, and choke its basically an autowin, this passive is by far the best of the 3 classes. So what does sentinel get? An immunity to stun, fear, and paralysis by the time you hit level 12. That sounds good right, cc immunity? Nope. Funnily enough, woolie points out that in the last game enemies rarely ever used abilities on you that would inflict any of these statuses, as there simply wasnt many force wielding enemies compared to the majority of enemies you face. Well guess what? Due to the general lore and storytelling of kotor 2, there are even less force using enemies in this game than the first one. Even if you did want an immunity to these cc's THERE IS A BELT IN THE GAME THAT AUTOMATICALLY GIVES YOU IMMUNITY TO STUN, FEAR, AND PARALYSIS, and its not even a late game item. it's not even the only equitable item in the game that gives you these bonuses that you should theoretically have to invest 12 points into a jedi sentinel to get. This aspect of the jedi sentinel makes me think the designers at obsidian (who I am very ride or die about) added these items as a way of aggressively mocking and punishing any who found jedi sentinels to be a cool class thematically. Sorry for the rant, there was pretty much no reason for me to spend 20 minutes writing this all out. This game is near to my heart but its very unbalanced, most likely due to lucas arts only giving obsidian like a year to make it. Seriously though, very much looking forward to more of this game from these two fine fellas.
I dunno, for a first playthrough where you're not sure which party members have proficiency in which skills and who you'll need to make sure you pass every skill check, it's pretty sensible to make sure you've got everything covered skills-wise from the outset. I agree that guardian and consular have much cooler unique abilities (consular gang 4 lyf) but like you said, you become so broken so fast in this game that those combat bonuses really don't matter that much, and imo are just as cool bonus things to discover and implement into your gameplay on a second or third playthrough where combat creativity takes a bigger role in the fun. I think that especially for a broadcasted let's play it's best to make sure that the audience sees as much as possible as easily as possible, so sentinel makes sense if for no reason other than peace of mind from a content creation perspective. This game is complicated enough as is without worrying about not having the right partner with you to pass a given skill check at a given moment.
theultimatenatmaster ha thanks for validating my super drunk rant (nursing a killer hangover right now) and yeah you totally right being set on skills is def good for a first playthrough and since this is just on the normal difficulty it really doesn’t matter. I think the only thing I’d say is given that he went 14 in int and took two skill feats he’s prob set on skills, going sentinel really only gives you one extra skill point per level and 4 extra on your first level compared to a consular, he would just have to take the computer skill feat instead of the repair one and would also be able to land way more force skills. I think in the long run I was more giving my grievances on how undertoned sentinels are haha

I love how LittleV is that friend who is super pationate about showing you his video game, and he's really nice and giving you gameplay advice. But then it gets to the Story and he's hitting you with like three foreshadowing's per second, to the point of near spoilers.

The only true benefit is extra content, but even then a lot of it is rough, so must be taken with some salt.
Dont get me wrong, the people who made it work are saints.
@@tequilawhiskey people like to sing their praises about them now, but Obsidian used to be notorious for making bug ridden games, even more so than Bethesda, and KOTOR2 is no exception, New Vegas was without a doubt worse in the QA department than 3, even after multiple patches

As someone who plays a lot of TTRPGS, primarily 3.5e and Pathfinder, that stat alignment triggers the hell out of me, but I understand Star Wars so it's fine.
16:40 Dude my Force Adept in the Table Top is a Punch Jedi, use Force Powers to pump your stuff and punch like no other, actually keeping up with the Lightsaber almost. The best part is that the character can eventually straight up punch lightsabers out of the way.
As someone who played KOTOR 2 a lot, that build is perfectly fine for KOTOR 2. I'd personally take a couple points out of INT and CHA and invest into DEX or CON, but I understand the build was done to give Woolie the best flexibility. The Build was specifically a generalist build so Woolie could choose his playstyle, and the build is fine for that.

Woolie distancing from Pat in terms of L.P. bits makes me sad, they were my favorite pair among the Zaibatsu.

This may be a weird sentiment, but I just wanted to thank Woolie for this playthrough. KoTOR is one of the game series I love, but most of my friends either don't know about it, or don't care.

I've actually never watched a lp of woolie's (including everything with pat and the best friends stuff) and I have to say with this probably being one of my favorite games of all time I'm really enjoying this playthrough. I'm super happy he has someone whose as knowledgeable of the game and in general fun as this LiitleVMills chap to lead him through this fantastic story given how kotor 2 can be as impenetrable as the original dark souls.
That being said, allow me to explain how the jedi sentinel is the worst starting class in the game by a massive margin, and Mills is an UTTER CLOWN and should have his kotor 2 professional license revoked for suggesting it.
What class you play determines how many skills, feats, and force powers you get while leveling - guardians get the most feats, sentinels get the most skills, and consulars get the most force powers. This aspect doesn't actually matter too much, as regardless of which class you pick, you'll probably be able to get all the feats and powers you want in the long run no matter what. Even if you're playing on the insane modded difficulty modes I usually do whenever I've replayed this game in the past years, as long as you understand that force speed is the staple ability for melee damage you''ll most likely be pretty op by the time you've hit the second post-telos planet. If you'll forgive the rhyme I think mills is placing way WAY too much importance on skills, as the 20 computer use and 20 repair skill your pc needs to get t3m4's full story is easily achievable with out the meager skill boost you get for playing sentinel - you might just be slightly delayed in how late into the game you get his full story, but for woolie's purpose of just experiencing everything about the story and characters it really makes no difference. Hell, from a narrative perspective it makes far more sense to not get t3m4's full deal until later in the game. Additionally your companions can completely pick up the slack in the skill department as they can pass every non-dialogue and non-awareness skill check for you - the t3m4 story stuff is pretty much the only reason to invest in skills outside of awareness and persuade - outside of that skill points are basically a wasted investment for your main character.
The other major difference between the starter classes that actually matters is the passive abilities they get while leveling, and its here that the sentinel falls tragically short. jedi guardians get the force jump ability, which will allow them to instantly jump to and close the distance on enemies and deliver a melee attack with a slight attack and damage boost. The attack and damage boost improves at level 6 and 12, which for a melee-based build dealing with a lot of ranged enemies is absurdly valuable. Meanwhile, consulars get a bonus to their attacking force power save dc, which means itll be harder for enemies to resist their force powers. The level 12 version of this skill gives your force spell dc the equivalent of 8 points in either wisdom or charisma for free (which is fucking huge, given that you can only put one point into your attributes every 4 level ups, and the highest level of gear you get in the end game will only give you up to about + 4 in any one attribute.) Considering how landing a single target or aoe cc like insanity, force stasis, and choke its basically an autowin, this passive is by far the best of the 3 classes. So what does sentinel get? An immunity to stun, fear, and paralysis by the time you hit level 12. That sounds good right, cc immunity? Nope. Funnily enough, woolie points out that in the last game enemies rarely ever used abilities on you that would inflict any of these statuses, as there simply wasnt many force wielding enemies compared to the majority of enemies you face. Well guess what? Due to the general lore and storytelling of kotor 2, there are even less force using enemies in this game than the first one. Even if you did want an immunity to these cc's THERE IS A BELT IN THE GAME THAT AUTOMATICALLY GIVES YOU IMMUNITY TO STUN, FEAR, AND PARALYSIS, and its not even a late game item. it's not even the only equitable item in the game that gives you these bonuses that you should theoretically have to invest 12 points into a jedi sentinel to get. This aspect of the jedi sentinel makes me think the designers at obsidian (who I am very ride or die about) added these items as a way of aggressively mocking and punishing any who found jedi sentinels to be a cool class thematically.
Sorry for the rant, there was pretty much no reason for me to spend 20 minutes writing this all out. This game is near to my heart but its very unbalanced, most likely due to lucas arts only giving obsidian like a year to make it. Seriously though, very much looking forward to more of this game from these two fine fellas.
I dunno, for a first playthrough where you're not sure which party members have proficiency in which skills and who you'll need to make sure you pass every skill check, it's pretty sensible to make sure you've got everything covered skills-wise from the outset.
I agree that guardian and consular have much cooler unique abilities (consular gang 4 lyf) but like you said, you become so broken so fast in this game that those combat bonuses really don't matter that much, and imo are just as cool bonus things to discover and implement into your gameplay on a second or third playthrough where combat creativity takes a bigger role in the fun. I think that especially for a broadcasted let's play it's best to make sure that the audience sees as much as possible as easily as possible, so sentinel makes sense if for no reason other than peace of mind from a content creation perspective. This game is complicated enough as is without worrying about not having the right partner with you to pass a given skill check at a given moment.
theultimatenatmaster ha thanks for validating my super drunk rant (nursing a killer hangover right now) and yeah you totally right being set on skills is def good for a first playthrough and since this is just on the normal difficulty it really doesn’t matter. I think the only thing I’d say is given that he went 14 in int and took two skill feats he’s prob set on skills, going sentinel really only gives you one extra skill point per level and 4 extra on your first level compared to a consular, he would just have to take the computer skill feat instead of the repair one and would also be able to land way more force skills. I think in the long run I was more giving my grievances on how undertoned sentinels are haha
Sentinels definitely get the short end of the lightsaber in this game overall, I'm with you on that :P
