    I really appreciate that content you put out. I just started my freelance journey a month ago and I’ve been so overwhelmed with the building process. I feel like I’m in such a unique position because I’m a stay-at-home father of two girls and I’ve yet to come across a designer that speaks on having a design career while having kids.
    I graduated with a graphic design degree this past May and got my first client soon after which was great, but now I’ve been on this rollercoaster of trying to get myself established and get more clients because I don’t want my first one to be my only one.

      Congratulations on graduating and earning your degree in May! But yes, that is a LOT to deal with being a stay-at-home father and work at the same time. Just know it gets easier as your business and your kids get older. Just keep your goals strong and make sure you set up your own branding :)

    Those 24 minutes are giving the honest overview about how to create your own design business.
    The journey may sound overwhelming especially reaching out to clients or the legalities,
    But as you said, we gotta have the mindset of being okay with making mistakes and learn from them. Super grateful for making this valuable video dear Lauren!! 🙏🏻❤

    Thanks for making all the points clear. I was told it's easy to make money as a freelancer. But it's totally opposite. It's like being a one-man band. Have to juggle a whole company with two hands only. Whoever reading this, don't get into freelance business without a proper plan. Otherwise it will get tangled soon.

      Yes, there is a lot going on in a business that can't be understated. And a HUGE part of it is about patience and persistence.

    Thank you for the informative video! I'm a new logo/visual identity designer, I really believe in the benefits of having a niche but I don't know how to find mine. Most of advice I find is "look at the previous work you did and see which one you enjoyed" but I'm just starting out I've never done any real work except personal projects which are all over the place different industries and different company sizes, the only common thing they have is the type of work which is logo and identity design. I thought being a logo designer is a niche but when I try to create content about logo/identity design on LinkedIn I can't think of specific pain point instead I find myself talking about general benefits of having a good logo or a visual identity that suits the brand. I would really appreciate it if you can give me something to help me with that. Thank you :)

      @4TheCreatives  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’re totally right that advice can be a bit empty as there’s more to it than that. I admire that you are thinking through your marketing and willing to take action on a niche (not all are willing to). I did a podcast episode that talks all about different ways to niche. It may help to spark another idea. I recommend listening to this one: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/earning-by-design-graphic-design-freelancing-business/id1724488266?i=1000652022570
      Let me know if you have further questions on it 😊

      @@4TheCreatives Yeah when I imagine a specific target audience just as a hypothetical practice I start to have actual ideas for content marketing but when I think from the idea of a general logo designer I find myself thinking more me rather than the client need and how my services can help that. Anyways thank you for the response and I listened to that episode I really liked it, it gave me that first step now I need to start listing some ideas based on those categories and go through them one by one and see what I can find. I have a question though about the part where you talked about how to know if a certain niche is good, but I don't make this comment section so long, would it be ok to ask you on Instagram?

    Hello, I'm graphic designer targeting website banner design, I'm expert on it, love on it, but i would like to do business on it like printing shop, but the problem is I don't have any fund to do the business or just purchase the license of Adobe product. Any tips to purchase a simple dream as designer?

    • @4TheCreatives
      @4TheCreatives  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can get started with something more affordable like the Affinity Suite. Keep those dreams. As you get more clients you can upgrade to Adobe.
