    I came across this video once again, and I agree with you Michael. What I have done is take all the possible photos as you mention, make the pattern, save all the accessories that are good to use once again with the new fabric. The original dress I wrap in acid free tissue and place inside a food saver plastic bag and take all the air out and seal it. This way the original is preserved with the doll but we avoid contamination to other delicate fabrics in our cabinets.

    Storing the original in an acid free environment (tissue and box) is a good start. Good luck.
