"Lights out, paper town. Summer queens with daisy crows. Merry going round-and-round. You're the darling of the town. I'll show you the world tonight, I'll show you the world tonight. Scraped knees, birds and bees. Duke and duchess of a dream. Rainy day philosophy, A hurricane is just a breeze. I'll show you the world tonight, As long as you say you're mine. Take my heart and put it in your pocket. Wear it like a locket and hide the key. At sundown we were only dry bones. Sleeping under tombstones, lay by me. Back seat, jubilee Factories without machines. Digging in like winter trees, Stay this way and never leave. I'll show you the world tonight, I'll show you the world tonight. Take my heart and put it in your pocket. Wear it like a locket and hide the key. At sundown we were only dry bones. Sleeping under tombstones, lay by me. Take my heart and put it in your pocket. Wear it like a locket and hide the key. At sundown we were only dry bones Sleeping under tombstones, lay by me Take my heart and put it in your pocket. Wear it like a locket and hide the key. At sundown we were only dry bones. Sleeping under tombstones, lay by me. Lay by me, lay by me You're the only one and you always will be. Lay by me, lay by me. You're the only one and you always will be."
This is one of the most unrated bands of all time. Every single ones of their songs is a bop and honestly they deserve fame so much more than most pop artists. I got to see them live in concert last Saturday (my first time listening to them) and I was instantly captivated. I'm so glad I discovered them!! The lyrics are thought provoking, the music is incredibly catchy, and the emotion behind each song is unique and genuine. I will find myself humming their songs at school, driving, etc. without even realizing it. Every song gets stuck in your head!
This is indeed a good song. I must say, the chorus is very reminiscent of a song written by children's composer Carmino Ravosa by the title of "Small Packages". Anyone who was teaching elementary school music in the 1990's might get the reference... Well done, Firekid!
I heard this at Denny's on their crappy system. Went home to a recording studio and forgot to listen to it. Now I'm in my Camry with a crappy system listening to it again. I like it.
I'm so tired of all the requests and the "wanna do a collaboration?" i mean this person is a professional making music. stoping asking for stupid things and just listen to it.
So my two friends like each other and I’m their wing woman doo helped them get together and stuff and he told me this song remind him of her and it’s so cuuttteeee
Dear Writers Of This Song: You want to know what the problem with the world is today? DO YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WITH THE WORLD IS TODAY? The problem with the world today is the fact that this would have been a Billboard Top Five, million selling song in 1986. THAT is what the problem with the world is today. You all have gone above and beyond the highest level of excellency. Too bad it's not 1986... Scott Reppert Former MD/PD WTCS, "Friendly City Radio", Fairmont, WV
I am happy for you, Mr. Musician man. But my god. I cannot stand this song. I hear it at least 5 times a day at work and I lose more of my mind everytime. I AM NOT GOING TO WEAR YOUR HEART LIKE A LOCKET. WHOAA WHOA WHOA OH OH OH OH OH OH WHOA OH OH OH OH OH OH OH OH WHOA OH OH OH OH OH OH OH LAY BY ME. NO!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! WHY DID YOU WRITE THIS?!?!?!? WHY ARE YOU SO MEAN TO ME?!?!?! WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU?! Your voice makes my ears bleed now. Thank you.
My God I just watched some of your videos and girl, you're terrible, absolutely terrible. Atleast Dillons song has a good tone and is catchy, you just make my ears bleed.
I love your stuff. Real talk, if you ever want to collab, hit me up! I don't have a TH-cam presence but I have some pipes and piano skills that fit with your style. That being said, I love your stuff how it's done! Collaborating would just be fun :)
I don't know who that is, but it's not respectful to insult firekid's music in such a manner. I respect your opinion, but might I suggest you find a kinder way to express it? Edit: I am listening to some of Laney Jones' music, and while I agree that she's quite good, I'd argue that one artist isn't necessarily BETTER than the other, and they should be enjoyed on their own merits, rather than trying to compare two artists that I perceive to be different enough to not be comparable. Enjoy firekid or don't, that's your prerogative. Just please try to consider if a song is actually bad, or if you just don't like it.
I've never heard of this guy, but I just happened to hear this song at work. It's amazing how I get exposed to music I otherwise wouldn't even consider.
This honestly deserves to be on the billboard top 50, not crap mainstream music.

The chorus is literally qwerty’s theme song from veggie tales
OH MY GOD thank you, it's not *exactly* the same notes but it sounded very familiar and this might be the reason.
You guys don't know what a bad song is.
Do you know of one?
ughh i feel like this song is freaking amazing until 0:35 then it turns into a Phillip phillips song
