That time period from about 1972-1979 Waylon had the best sounding voice in the world. It really was unique and no one can still come close to prime Waylon today or probably ever again. Even Elvis loved Waylon’s voice
Love this story, it changes a little everytime I hear it, but this is BJS himself tellin it, so I'll take it as gospel. Waylon's version was the same, cept the "I'm gonna kick yo ass" part happened outside the building, but don't matter much, loved um both, so either is the gospel to this Ol' cowboy 🤠👍
I would give anything to sit with Billy and sing him my songs, I'm convinced he would like them.. but it ain't gonna happen now.. rip hoss.you sure paid your dues..
God broke the mold when he made that old boy. Shaver is one of a kind. I took it awful hard when we lost him and Waylon.
I love these stories. RIP Billy Joe Shaver.
Absolute legends the both of them. There will never be the likes of them and the lads again .
U know how Billy lost his fingers.
@@crawwwfishh3284 Working in some saw mill or something like that if I remember correctly.
@@Seanybiker Thanks man.
Could listen to Billy tell any story. Two of the best, they’re missed.
If you haven't read his book you should, Honky Tonk Heroes by Billy Joe Shaver
@@rogerbean6442 got it a while back but still haven't read it. Must do so soon.
Great Story. Great People. I wish I had had the opportunity to meet them.
"ALRIGHT........whadda you want HOSS?"
RIP Billy Joe and Waylon
The world was better with waylon and billy
Such a humble guy yet so blessed with songwriting talent.
One of the great stories that never gets old.
Gotta love them both :), stubborn ol' mules ahaha.
Billy was a great entertainer singer and most of all a wonderful songwriter thank you BJS for the awesome music sir…🎸🥁🎸

The late and great Norm brought me here.
I was just minding my own business but I was gonna Jim Waylon 😂😂😂. Wow!
Scary to think ol waylon almost missed out on cutting a groundbreaking album.
Tell it Hoss!
This guy could tell a story about a crap he took in 1974 and it would be entertaining to hear.

Tom T Hall recorded the best version of Willie the Wandering Gypsy and me. Waylon a close second.
Billy Joe's writing makes Bob Dylan's sound like a little kid wrote em
Oh behave
C'mon man
Shut up lol
This may have nothing to do with the video but have they added slim Whitman to the hall yet?
Ya me to to the guy below me
Yeah he was a better singer than Billy but heck waylon was a better singer than anyone in the business! Hoss! I loved them both..
Seems like I remember reading that Billy Joe was married twice to 3 different women!?!!! Is that right???!! Anybody ?!!? Help!!🤷🏿♂️🤠🍺
He was only married 3 times. All to the same woman.
One wife, Brenda. One son, Eddie. They are all gone now. RIP.
