I don't understand how you block the backside backer. You have seven blockers. What is the H responsibility? What is the track of the F?
Is it like the typical spread inside or close zone, where the F back tracks right up the butt of the Center then his track is away from the side he aligns to because that is the wash side?
I understand the number system, but, don't understand why you have seven blockers and not kick out the playside end with your H or have him lead up to the playside linebacker.
Your backside linebacker is the read for the QB? So why not hinge block the backside end, which secures the B gap first and cuts off his persuit in case of a Steeler front scrape exchange, have Y board drill play side end because he really shouldn't have to do anything but stalemate the guy (we tell our TE and Olinemen that it's ok if they get beat sometimes, just get beat slowly) and if you're not using the H in a combo block, RPO with the H running a chute route or a burst route if you are not comfortable with a running back catching a pass on the LOS in the flat.
That blocks everyone as the backside (un numbered LB) is going to be in a bind. If he flows to the F QB pulls and runs, if he sits in the hole...which he shouldn't...QB pulls and throws, if he scrape exchanges with the end and comes up field or follows the H in coverage, QB gives the ball.

Am I wrong or would it be more practical if the center double blocked to the play-side 3 tech (1) and work his way up to Mike (0).
I guess the argument would be that it can be a reach for him to get hands on the 3tech (1), but with the play being to the right side I imagine it would be harder to block the Mike (0) if he is already running towards the play side if he double blocks the backside (1).
Double blocking the 3tech (1) would allow him to be set up in a better position to block the Mike (0)? Still learning just curious.
