Baseball has very few runs and lots of outs, Cricket has lots or runs and very few outs. So the crowd celebrations are in reverse.
Home run, baseball crowd goes crazy, cricket batter gets out, cricket crowd goes crazy. Batters can score as many runs as they like until the fielding team gets them out, so they can be on the field for many hours.

Something else to consider... When talking about an "over", they are referring to how many balls thrown. Each over is 6 balls. One day cricket being 50 overs means 50 sets of 6 each side. Bowlers change ends after each over and a new bowler is bowls. A bowler is not allowed to bowl 2+ overs in succession.

The very first game of cricket between two nations was in 1844. And the surprise is that the game was between the USA and Canada and was played in New York. Canada won but the Americans won the return match a few months later in Canada. Cricket was quite popular in the USA until WW1. There was a fairly big club based scene on the east coast mainly in Boston NY Baltimore and Philadelphia. It was decided not to play during the war and the game fell away never to recover.
Its greatest strength is its cultural and racial diversity; whites, blacks, browns; Hindus, Moslems, Buddhists, Christians all play for their different countries, and these rivalries among the best nations add a great deal - England, Australia, South Africa, India, Sri lanka, Pakistan, West Indies and Bangladesh are the strongest teams and there are exceptional individual players from other countries.
If you want a measure of how popular the game is, Virat Kohli the Indian batsman has more followers on social media than the 5 most popular NBA players put together.

There are 9 ways to get out + retired hurt, other than Stumped - which is very similar to run out; the others are mostly technical and very rare, one has never happened in international cricket. There are different formats of cricket, in international cricket (country v country) there is T20 (lasts about 3 hours) One day (3 x 2 hour sessions last about 7 hours) and Test Cricket (up to 5 days of 3x2 hour sessions). There is no one best player, there are batters, fast bowlers, pace bowlers, spin bowlers, wicket keepers, all rounders. Best pace bowler by international wickets taken, is James ‘Jimmy’ Anderson, still playing at the top level age 40 - ‘go Jimmy, Jimmy!’

Good Reaction, My Friend but there is more to learn.
A match can last for 20 Overs(not explained here) An "Over" is 6 successive balls bowled by the same bowler to the other end of the ground. Then, from the other end of the ground, another bowler then bowls 6 balls. So this match is 6 x 20 Overs =120 Balls and, as said, the side with the most runs wins. This lasts a few hours. An all-day match is 50 Overs each i.e. 300 Balls and a TEST Match( between Countries like England/India/Pakistan/Australia) Lasts....READY.....FIVE DAYS😀

If you ever wonder what Cricket is.
It's like Baseball but you have a Larger Bat, you hit the ball in a different angle as it bounces once.
There is only 2 bases and both batters run with each other at the same time without going back to the dugout.
The batters ONLY go to the dugout if they get out.
Once you are out, you don't get to bat again unless if they are playing a 5 day Test Match which they only get two opportunities to bat in the longer version of the game.
A team can either bat for their entire 20 or 50 overs if they are playing the short form of the game, or the entire team can bat during the course of 2 to 3 days in a 5 Day Test Match if they last that long.
    The is NO mercy rule.

  • @mrnegative48
    @mrnegative48 2 ปีที่แล้ว +26

cricket is far more complex compared to baseball, there are 3 versions of cricket, test matches are the real deal, 2 innings each can last 5 days, one day cricket is 50 overs each over 1 day and the baseball simpleton version for those with no attention span is t20 cricket 20 overs each
there is no best cricketer they all have different roles, check out viv richards for batting, shane warne for spin bowling, curtly ambrose for fast bowling, adam gilchrist for batting also, there are plenty of other greats

It was war at the highschool cricket nets. We'd have a batter in the nets with no pads on with garbage bin as stumps and dudes bowling at you with hard leather ball bowling bouncers at your head with no helmet on. When ball missed and hit back of net then throw ball over back of net where about 50 dudes jump in the air to score the ball with pushing and shoving going on to retrieve ball then once have it then have the right to have ball and chance to bowl out batter.could have up to half dozen bowlers lined up to bowl at batter.if batter is bowled out or caugh out then bowler has priveledge to be the batter. Seen heaps of carnage in the nets. I got hit in the head playing grade cicket and seam marked with stitching on ball embedded just under eye. Looked really cool and was on 96 runs and retired hurt. Came back on after next wicket with same bowler on and bowled bouncer at me first ball on 96 runs after retiring hurt.went straight for my head and i got right behind it and smashed it for six runs over the rope. Got my ton (100 runs) and crowd went ballistic clapping. What a game.

Cricket in it's original and purist form was played over 4 days, and is known as Test Cricket, in which both teams have the opportunity to bat and field twice; another form is Domestic Cricket which is played over 2 days usually between clubs, and each only bats and fields once. Over time other faster past forms were derived, such as one day where each teams bowls a maximum of 50 overs each, or T20 where each team bowls a maximum of 20 overs each. All levels are played internationally, mainly between Commonwealth of Nations countries(former British Colonies). An 'over' consists of 6 legal bowls, penalties apply for illegal bowls.

  • @Rassskle

The video did not show all 11 ways to get a batsman out..... nor did it explain the importance of the BAILS.
The BAILS are very light and sit in shallow grooves on top of the stumps.
If anything touches the stumps, the bails are supposed to dislodge and fall to the ground.
If the ball smashes into the stumps or bails, but neither bail is dislodged and falls to the ground , then the batsman is NOT out. lol
This applies to run outs as well as bowled.
But...... if the wind blows the batsman’s hat off and the hat dislodges a bail, then if the bowler has released the ball and the delivery is still alive , then the batsman is out...... he must protect his wicket including from clothing, jewellery , legs etc..... anything attached to him or on his person.
A batsman can also be stumped out...... if he moves out of his crease , lined batting area, and misses the ball..... the wicket keeper can take the ball and whip off the bails or smash the ball into the stumps..... OUT.
As in a run out, the ball does not have to touch the stumps or bails.
As long as it is hand, and THAT hand removes the bails or smashes into the stumps.
The wicketkeeper wears special gloves as does the batsmen.
No one else is allowed to wear gloves.
All catching and fielding is done with an unprotected hand or hands...... the wicketkeeper ( catcher ) excepted.
As already suggested, watch a Shane Warne video.
    Also a classic catches video.
Maybe even some fast bowlers..... Dennis Lillee, Jeff Thompson, Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Malcolm Marshal or Wes Hall...... there was many others, but these were the most dangerous..... they could kill a batsman.

Recently hockey World Cup was being played in India, I can say 90 percent of India was unaware. It's an attitude. Why people from India Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh etc have made cricket it's religion? British taught soccer, hockey and cricket. India adopted cricket its passion. Simple reason is it's a game of convenience. It requires skill and little fitness and stamina. In cricket if you cannot bowl fast like Brett Lee become Ashwin and Bhaji. Even Inzamam ul Haq types can become world champs scoring tons. Running between the wickets you run in your own timing, in Fielding you chase the ball in your own timing. In batting ball comes to you. There is never toe to toe neck to neck competition. Whereas in games like soccer, basketball, track and field etc you require enormous amount of speed, stamina and fitness. Opponent stretches you in all these parameters. To beat Maradona you have to beat him not only in skill but also in terms of speed, stamina and fitness. So is with Bolt, Micheal Jordon, Micheal Phleps, Nadal and Federer etc. It's an attitude. IF MONEY AND INFRASTRUCTURE ARE THE ONLY REQUIREMENT THAN PEOPLE FROM INDIA, PAKISTAN, SRILANKA AND BANGLADESH ETC SETTLED IN US, ENGLAND AND EUROPE would have played soccer and other games which are popular there. Who cares for cricket there? But there also they play cricket only. Today football and hockey are played only in villages. Cricket is played in cities and towns. Even England prides in English premier league EPL not cricket, India made IPL in cricket. Media sells what people like. India cannot produce heros in other games which require speed, stamina and fitness, try to find heros in cricket. You talk of Micheal Jordon, they will bring Tendulkar and Kohli, you talk of Micheal Phelps they will bring Tendulkar and Kohli, you talk of Bolt they will bring Tendulkar and Kohli, you talk of Nadal and Federer etc they will bring Tendulkar and Kohli. Recently during FIFA WC media brought a weird comparison between Messi and Tendulkar about their height, popularity , age, achievements etc. But one should know Messi is Messi because of his magical footballing skills which is engined by his mercurial lighting speed and incredible stamina and fitness. Indian cricketers cannot be compared to even state level footballers in terms of speed, stamina and fitness. India Pakistan, Srilanka Bangladesh etc are zero in other games can never be a sporting nation. Japan and Korea may be geographically Asian, but they have the attitude to compete with the best in the world be it technology economy and sports. Today they compete with top footballing nations and Europe in soccer. Make their presence felt.

They have 11 players in a side, so you have 11 batters.
However they must have 2 batters on the field at any given time, should the batting team lose 10 wickets as in 10 batters are out.
Even if the last batter is still remaining, since they don't have any partner that is the end of the innings.
20 over game the batting side needs to make as many runs within 20 overs (6 balls per over) before change of innings. 1 batting innings each side.
50 over game the batting side needs to make as many runs within 50 overs before change of innings. 1 batting innings each side.
5 Day Test Match, they can make as many runs within as many overs they can as long as they still have two batters still in play or they can declare to force the other team into bat and try to get them all out, the match can only result in a Draw if no result has been achieved within the 5 day requirement. 2 batting innings each side.

Before you react to individual players, you'll need a bit more information on the laws (not rules!). This video was good but brief, and left out more than it put in. There is another explanation done by Ninh Explains, which would dovetail well with this video and there is also a series on the "laws of cricket" presented by Stephen Fry, that explains a selection of the laws in detail. I've yet to find a good explanation of the fielding positions such as "gulley", "long-leg", "third man" and "silly mid-off" etc. You'll probably need to figure those out for yourself, as you progress into this wonderful sport.

Cricket is like 3 dimensional baseball.
Or more accurately, baseball is like 2 dimensional cricket.
It has so much more nuance and variety than baseball, and is immensely more entertaining.
This isn’t to put down baseball, which is enjoyable to play and watch, but rather to explain how fabulous cricket can be.
    I can recommend extremely highly.
Note: the USA will have a professional T20 league very soon.
T20 ( or twenty / twenty) is the shortest form of the game and probably more akin to a baseball game.
    I hope you enjoy it.

Baseball and cricket are thought to have been invented in England at around the same time. Both seem to have been evolutions of a game called Stoolball that was played by milk maids in the 15th Century.
There is a reference to baseball in the Jane Austen novel “Northanger Abbey” which was written in 1803.

Limited over Cricket or 1 day match the bowlers bowl 50 overs each or all 10 batters are out. T20 bowler bowls 20 overs each or until all 10 batters are out.

    US reacting folks be like:
    1. Reacting to the cricket explained video. Talks a lot about learning a new sport hyped and excited
    2. No real interest or passion about the game so no self study not learning anything
    3. Still no idea about the game
    4. No reaction videos about cricket and that's about it. shame!
If you truly wanna learn and keep learning you must have some passion and interest about the game not about TH-cam views or subs. If reaction videos are done right, Cricket can be one of the biggest things as it's the 2nd biggest sport in the world with over 7 Billion fans around the world. But I see a lot of TH-camrs give up after the Cricket explained video. If they keep learning and keep reacting they are gonna build a massive cricket audience.

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.
Each man that’s in the side that’s in the field goes out and when he’s out comes in and the next man goes in until he’s out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.
When they are all out, the side that’s out comes in and the side that’s been in goes out and tries to get those coming in out.
Sometimes there are men still in and not out.
There are men called umpires who stay out all the time, and they decide when the men who are in are out.
Depending on the weather and the light, the umpires can also send everybody in, no matter whether they’re in or out.
When both sides have been in and all the men are out (including those who are not out), then the game is finished.

USA has a national team but they are not good enough. Currently trying to qualify for the cricket world cup the USA have been easily beaten by NEOAL. Think of the Yankees vs a complete novice team and the Yankees totally dominate from ball 1. That's where cricket USA is at right now. However, the USA is currently setting up a cricket league. Considering the size of USA am sure there will be regional divisions just like basketball. It's not ready to launch yet but it's thought summer 2024 the likely kick off. You are looking at the short game setup here.
