I really appreciate your videos Delci! You are obviously really experienced & knowledgeable, yet have the rare ability to teach beginners like me in a way that makes things feel manageable 😊🙏🙏🙏

Love the part about giving yourself grace. It's so easy to get overwhelmed when you look at all those hooves and know it's going to set off pain in the neck and shoulders. I did 4 this morning but on two separate goats. It rained so I was pressuring myself to get them all done while they were soft. If they dry out they can stand on an old wet towel or something till I can get all the girls done lol

A little tidbit for blood stop you’ve got at home is flour or corn starch (used in cooking)

Excellent demonstration. My two does are most difficult to trim and usually take multiple times getting it done so I don't stress them out. One of them has toes that curl up on the inside front toes. She seems a bit tender since the ground is so wet now. I have really learned alot today watching your videos. Thank you

I'm so glad that it was helpful! It really does help to take a break between sides or feet when there are more difficult to trim.
Many blessings on you and your goats! 😀

We just got two goats. One of them has not had as good of care as the other. Her hooves are splaying out one of her front hoofs is cracked a big piece is broken. how much can be cut off? They are both due to have babies this month. I feel so bad for her she is so sweet it has taken a week to get her to trust me and come to me she is much thinner than the other also. They are twins. I sent for your book of information.

I love your video, however we acquired a goat who has hooves that are a bit overgrown and not as pretty as your goats hooves. Can you give any information on how to get them to a better place? I’ve been trying to trim them steadily and it just doesn’t seem to be getting much better. Her back hooves seem to grow inward and I’m just not sure how much I can cut off.

HI Delci we just got a Goat that was already pregnant and is due any time now at least I think....We watched your ll signs of labor and have seen everything but mucus and pawing. Her hoofs had NEVER been trimmed and are awful. They are curled under and she is having trouble walking a bit. Some videos suggested waiting till she gives birth others say go ahead. We have just gotten to where we can pet her and brush her. Should we try to trim them. No even sure we can due to being so thick already. She is approx 2 years old and has given birth twice already with multi birth babies. Thanks you for your advice. New very new to all this and
this will be our first birthing experience. We have everything to learn.

I would say listen to your gut and your goat. You don’t want to stress her at this point in the pregnancy.
But doing one foot a day might work. Or maybe she’ll be a rock star and be completely fine for all of them! 😊

@@Gods4Horsemen truly, if you do it often, it’s very easy to do. Just clip the bit that’s starting to fold over and you’re done!

You probably already have found one but if not, Home depot, ace hardware, amazon all have. They are called Stanley Surform. You can get replacement blades as well.
