- In this video we look at ways to avoid fluctuations in our scores. We briefly revisit gun hold and visual hold. We look at the things we need to do the same way every time we are shooting.
Foot position on every stand is also discussed. How to properly mount a gun is discussed. The importance of concentration is also investigated. Keeping our cheek on the stock is also stressed and we look at what to do with big fragments from a hit target.
We talk about high expectations and filling our head with positive thoughts. Being able to swing our body equally left and right.
The importance of following the same routine every single time on every single target.
We focus ...we concentrate... we think of it as a job... and the fun comes after the round is completed and we have shot some good, consistent scores .....Good Luck...Roger Pace
Thanks Roger, You've done it again...more good clear thinking on the trap field!! Thank for your generous help and top drawer tips!
Thank you ...much appreciated!
Rodger great lessons thank you
Very welcome Thank you!!!
Hey Roger , just getting into trap and waiting for my firearms license atm , QLD , I've watched a few of your videos now and always learn and take away a couple of things from each one , thanks for taking the time .
+Nokharma Trap shooting is good fun ...and also very frustrating...I was having a bad run for a couple of weeks...so i shot a whole slab of cartridges each week for 2 weeks and now I am back to my 21 average and hoping to improve as time goes by ...it takes a while to shoot consistent good scores...glad the videos were useful...best wishes and happy shooting...Roger
I like your story board great explanation
Thanks and welcome
Another helpful video thank you Roger for contributions to shooters aspiring to improve.

hey just wanted to let you know that I watched your video last night and shot my first 25 out of 25 by using your tips. see bird shoot bird really seemed to calm me down. thanks again for the tips.
+Joshua Shaylor Congratulations on your 25...it is a good feeling...and if you can do it once you can do it again...focus and concentration...good on you and thanks for letting me know...best wishes and happy shooting...Roger
As usual, a pleasure to see you sharing your experience and knowledge Roger. Here is something about my self that underline the importance of concentration. I am a skeet shooter. I shot many times 25 in competitions, even a straight 75, but I was never able to shot 25 on the range during training. Odd, isn't it?:). Stay well!
Pepo I am the opposite...i can shoot the odd 25 in training but not in competition...it's better your way!
Yes, it is, but it is still a weakness that I have to fix. Being able to concentrate must not depend of context but only yourself.
Your Videos are very very informative. My scores are increased. Thank you
joseph....thank you for your kind words...it means a lot...stay well!
Hi Roger, Any video about ear protection? I am using peltor sportac ear protection, sometimes I feel the ear protectors knocking on the wood. Thanks for the videos from Spain
Ignacio...I just use the moulded ear plugs...the ones where they inject the stuff in your ears ...and when its set...they seal it and you have a perfect mould of your ears...it does the job and they are very unobtrusive...I was just next door to you last week in Portugal in Porto...never been to Spain ...stay well!
Hi Roger.
Thanks for doing these videos. I find them immensely helpful.
I’m still new to shooting and only shoot DTL at the moment.
Could you do a video about the different gun options for the different shooting disciplines (eg skeet, sporting clays, etc). I am a bit confused whether I can still use my Beretta Silver Pigeon Sporter for everything (with different chokes) or whether I need a different gun for skeet, etc.
Many thanks in advance.
Cheers
Rom Ser...that was my first gun...put an adjustable stock on it ...then you can shoot any discipline and just change chokes and you can easily adjust the point of impact by raising or lowering the stock...good luck and happy shooting...will do the video as you suggest!

Roder has anyone discussed the mental game required to shoot concistent scores .
Garry...it is a very important topic you raise....Stay well and thanks for watching !!!
Hi Roger would you recommend for a beginner to only fire 1 shot at birds and if a miss save the 2nd shot instead of wasting cartridges?
I understand the need to follow through and stay on the bird even after breaking it.
Tricky...when I started I put a lot of lead in the air...I think that it's always good to fire that second barrel...my scores started to go up when the consistency of my second shot improved...the important thing is to keep the cheek on the stock and practice that second shot...I know how you feel...I've been through it ...but work on that second shot...good on you and stay well!
Hi thanks for the video tutorials a question for you I have an m3k stoger I us in 3 gun, great shot gun but i can hit sh** with it on the trap range. Where as my ol' weatherby centurion I'm hitting in the 18,19 20 range consistantly the gun patterns straight so I'm wondering if o should be using a tighter choke I have been shooting cylinder any advice? Thanks
Gregory...with a cylinder choke the pattern is too sparse and clays can get through...use imp modified and full ...best wishes!!!!!
@@rogerpace9322 thanks for your reply what choke would you recommend?
Thanks. Sub'd
Thank you...good on you...stay well...Roger
