I live in vegas and decided not to go. the prices were outrageous. It should have been two days. Once I heard the jazz festival wasn't canceled, I knew it wasn't about the wind...
@@roxybryant5076 like armon said, it's damned if you do damned if you don't. It ended up being nothing thankfully. Had it gone as scheduled and people got hurt/killed, there would be outrage that they didn't cancel and put money over safety. So i get it. There was a big punk rock festival not too long ago called When We Were Young, that was also cancelled due to wind.... and yeah the wind was BADDDDD. they got cancelled ONE HOUR BEFORE IT STARTED 😬 yikes.
This EXACT same thing just happened with the Urban Nerd Con I bought a ticket to in Atlanta that was supposed to happen the last weekend of April. Celebs were dropping out because they weren’t paid, then they said they were going to move it to another venue and then it was canceled. They’re taking several weeks to give everybody our money back too. Did anybody else fall for that scam?
I was at the city of lights Jazz festival in Las Vegas this weekend it was windy but not windy enough to canceling. It actually felt good because it kept the heat away
I went last year and had an amazing time. I went this year and IT WAS windy. Hurricane winds no but its always better to be safe than sorry. I got my refund so im cool and Vegas is always fun!
Everyone on the panel made excellent points , and the weather thing , if the forecast called for bad conditions , but it doesn’t materialize it’s always better to rely on caution, and cancel.. Example: the forecast is calling for a major snow storm, and the schools fall on the side of caution, and cancel, but the temperature rises , and the bulk of the storm doesn’t materialize, the side of caution was still 100% the right choice ,
Not a scam! The wind was HORRIBLE. Chile, wigs and men's hats were flying on the strip. I wish they had cancelled DAYS, not 12-15 hours before the festival. We're getting refunds and rightfully so! Luckily for me, I was there for my birthday. I felt so bad for those who went through h3ll, flew from all over, and etc. I'm side eyeing artists who had tickets for their club events originally be $75 then HIKED the prices up to $200 after the festival was canceled...aka Lil Wayne! I got to see Usher do a sound check on the screen at the festival, T-Pain, Ashanti, Snoop Dogg, Jadakiss, JaRule, Ciara and Russel Wilson. Besides, I had way more fun at Freemont!! That place is LIT!!!
Let’s be clear about a few things. This was the 3rd year the festival was scheduled to take place after 2 previous successful events. Also, I think the comment about paying for insurance on flights and hotels makes absolutely no sense. They canceled the festival 12 hours before it was scheduled to start. Which means MOST OF US was ALREADY in Vegas at the time it was canceled. So we had no choice in the matter at all. Lastly, you guys keep going with this narrative that artists weren’t promoting it all because 3 artists spoke out against it (Juvenile Mary J. Blige and The Dream). But y’all fail to mention if you went onto the artists “schedule events / tour dates” per their websites, THEY ALL listed Lovers & Friends as a date. Not to mention, if the festival was already SOLD OUT what is the need to promote it 🤔???? I love the show but please use your thinking caps and have sympathy for everyone who spent their hard earn money on a good time to be left with no choice but to make other plans.
That's separate from the festival. Could you imagine 60k people evacuating because of a stage collapse or flying debris? It was a lose/lose situation. Thank goodness we're getting refunds.
What a stupid comment. People were mad because they spent money on a hotel and flights that they can't get back. All the things you list don't cost money.
@@liloulivingRight lol what a dumb comparison 😂😂 People paid enormous prices to get tickets to for these concerts/festivals, so of course their gonna be angry!

Thanks for the info. I was wondering what the actual weather was like on Saturday

I live in Vegas and it was not that windy and nothing else was canceled this past weekend!
“Show me something that’s a scam but normalized” - concerts
Sorry but they said wait 30 days for a refund. NOTHING should ever take 30 days for a refund! 🚩🚩🚩🚩

I went to lovers and friends 2022 and I thought it was a scam but all the artists showed up except Brandy and Snoop came instead.

so many “tours” this year…
and so many celebs we haven’t seen or heard anything from in awhile
@3:53 The Armon Wig😂😂😂. Is production being shady?
I caught that too 😂😂
Yeah what's up with that ... Claudia peeped it too cause she looked down...

this world is so chaotic at times gotta protect our peace
Can please people . If someone get hurt they sue everyone involved. Thank you Armon smartest comment.😊
Alot of these festivals seem like a scam these days
Mary J & Monica spoke on this briefly
Some folks were at the MET Gala....
The most overrated event of the year
Sounds like a quick flip scam! Get the money flip it 3,4,5 times and now they canceled. Banks do it and I’m sure promoters do it too
This was the 3rd year of the festival so its not a fake festival. There were high winds and people died before at the Indiana State Fair.
Right Armon re: the wind.
What is the Armon's Wig? Because he has a buzz cut
Very much a scam

Weather was not an issue … people were having rooftop pools on parties as normal . Like they always do .
That’s them 🤷🏽♀️

Armon is right. The wind was enough to sway the light and speak rigs.
(aka Sugarland concert)
I bet yall asses wouldn’t be that “outraged” if work, school, church, volunteer work was canceled! Foh. It’s a concert. Oh well. 💁🏽♂️😒
