I ended up living on my own at 18. My grandma passed away and I inherited our home. Soon after that, my arthritis had gotten so bad that I could hardly walk and couldn't find a job due to being in poor health. Even though I was being denied employment, I was also being denied disability benefits because I was going to college to try to get where I could be employable. I had to live off inheritance and financial aid for 4 years and it was hard. I was really depressed and always worried about whether I would have enough food or be able to keep the electric and water going. I couldn't just sell the house because to find a decent apartment would cost too much for monthly rent and I would have never been able to get approved because I didn't have any income. When I finally was able to find a job last summer, it changed everything for me. I am no longer having anxiety and I have less depression now.
