Is it live or recorded? I wonder how one can sing live like this. I know she is the world greatest singer ever. I love her so much. But still how is this possible to have such audio quality in live show?
It was live sung. Just not live telecast. I have myself attended many of Lata ji's concerts live where she could sing like this. Plus also remember that she was Lata. DD used to use their best of the best equipment and recording technology. Which used to be very high quality anyway. I understand the reason for your question. You never heard it so good on old TVs perhaps. But that was the problem with the TV tech. Not the recording tech. The radio or TV in India always recorded stuff with very high quality. Highest available. Now with better TVs, better digitization etc it can be easily reproduced. Plus, remember that these recordings were analog. They will ALWAYS sound better than anything digital.
Sad thing is that she was so great a singer, that it's unbelievable for modern people who think singers like Alka Yadnik and Shreya Ghoshal are good singers!
