Good comparison. You are spot on with the bottle pockets on the catalyst. The catalyst could have been much better with some elastic on the water bottle pockets
Actually have the Catalyst 26, kinda correct on the water bottle pockets unless you're bringing a 32oz/48oz Nalgene, I also use for things I need immediately like an umbrella. The Catalysts are pretty underrated but nothing too special, really
I think they’re well priced, have solid material and look good! I just wish a little extra effort was applied to the bottle pockets, especially if you’ve had a bag like the Coulee where those are a highlight.
I agree...the 21 is one of my keepers...I also use the 15 Rip Ruck often as an edc. I have the Rip Ruck 24 which I find kinda useless for me. I do fold up the packable Galligator 18 and put it in my carry on for a smaller destination bag. Overall I like MR...since Yeti bought them and it's now run by X CEO from Osprey, should be interesting for the future.
I’m very interested to see the future of MR. Who knows if Yeti will continue to push MR forwards or if this is beginning of the end to certain lines of products. I can see lots of potential for both good and bad in their future. That said, I am interested to see if Dana goes into a new venture within the backpack or carry world.
I’d like to see a review of the mystery ranch 2 day edc. It’s an REI exclusive but looks kind of like what these catalyst bags should have been (minus the molle). Stretch bottle pockets and dual brain pocket. Nobody has a video on it yet. Great comparison by the way

100%. Lack of security there is a big miss in my opinion.
For a $200 ish pack it definitely needs to be better mystery ranch packs are cringe

I'll check it out
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
@@ECsEDC welcome
Water bottle pocket is the downfall of this otherwise nice design. I’d buy a v2 if it address those pockets.
I agree. Those were not very thoughtful. Hopefully they looking improve that in the next version.
Bien Vu ! 🙂
The pack is floppy
Mystery ranch zippers are silly
The trizip isn’t for everyone!
@@ECsEDC definitely definitely not its to floppy
