So, I know a lot of you have really been enoying my Derp Souls playthrough, and I even know its caused a lot of you to get the game. Well, I'm sure you've realized by now (or maybe not) that this game tells you NOTHING about how to play. One of the biggest important aspects of this game is weapon upgrading and ascension. Nowhere does it tell you the phenomenal effect ascending a weapon has, and how critical it is to completing the game. Upgraded weapons can make the WHOLE GAME a lot easier and more fun, but to get the good upgrades, you'll need the good Titanite.
On that note, I put together this handy Titanite farming guide that covers every type of Titanite in the game. The only thing not included are Dragon Scales, as the best way to farm those is through PvP in the Path of the Dragon covenant. All types of Titanite, including Twinkling, can be farmed easily through PvE, you just need to know where to look (and now you do :D).
This guide is mainly geared toward somewhat new players of Dark Souls, particularly the ones I've got into the game. Its not the stuff I usually upload, and I've never tried to put together a serious guide before so I hope at least SOMEONE can get some use out of this. If I help out 10 people, I've done my job.

You can use the crystal cave bonfire after u beat scalles and you'll be right beside the clams

Mainly for the damn slabs....
If you have a faith based character, or feel like using Wrath of the Gods, you can farm ~10k souls every minute or faster in the Painted World.
Attune Wrath of the Gods (buy from Rhea after saving her in the Tomb of the Giants - get Silver Serpent Ring while you're there) and Homeward for quick returning.
Visit Painted World, clear the area to the degree that you can unlock the shortcut to the yard, where the Phalanx enemies are. These are the guys you'll be farming.
From the bonfire, run towards the yard, kill naked hollow in your way, run into phalanx and quickly cast 1-2 WotG (depends on faith - Firstborn Ring helps a lot!). You can one shot them easily. You will miss ~1 guy blocking and 0-3 on the other end. Reposition, recast, use Homeward, repeat. With the game installed on an SSD (

Some people consider glitching the same as using a cheat or trainer.
c0mmanderKeen This strategy is also very effective with the two handed special attack of the Dragon King Greataxe if you're going for a strength build.
I am doing it, but using pyromancy instead: firestorm takes all of them. Chaos fire storm is also great for it.
Also having 10 Humanity and a Covetus Gold serpant ring increases your item find to 410 the maximum it can get, this increases your chances at getting all drops by an insane ammount
+Undead Fred I had some stupid luck with trying to get the dark hand, it took me 5 hours to get it and I got 2 titanite slabs before I got my first Dark Hand so that information would have been helpful
+The Lazy Gamer If you wanted a dark hand you could of joined the dark wraith covenant and got it instantly....

I recommend using following items to make your farming more efficient:
For increased drop rate:
Gold Serpent Ring ( Tomb of the Giants )
10 Humanity
...and if you're ballsy, the Symbol of Avarice ( Mimic Rare Drop )
For high burst damage: ( if you are using spells )
Crown of Dusk ( Darkroot Basin Lake )
Pyromancy Glove with max. upgrade ( if you are a Pyromancer)
Top Tier Damage Spells ( Great Fireball, Great Chaos Fireball ...)
For survivability:
Havel's Set
For mobility:
Havels Ring
Homeward Spell / Bone
To get to your farming location faster, take off your clothes. It makes you run faster.
This helped me get my Lightning Uchigatana from +2 to +5 in about 15-20 minutes.
Gold Serpent ring is found in Sen's Fortress. The Silver Serpent ring is found in the Tomb of the giants. btw Symbol of Avarice does not stack with Gold Serpent ring
I know this is an old video, and you probably won't even see this, but I felt compelled to comment as I so often do not. I skipped to the twinkling titanite and absolutely lost it with the "...and if you finish them off with one hp, you'll earn their respect". It made me want to go back and watch the whole video; great stuff, man. Hilarious and helpful, solid combination.

It might be worth noting if you already killed seath, you can just go from the crystal cave bonfire for the clams that drop twinkling titanite.
Squid. You probably wont read this but this guide is amazing and your very good at making guides. I would like you to make a 10 or 15 minute guide on all the major bosses, you wouldnt have to include tauros or havels but the important bosses. like what they are weak to and the best types of weapons to use against them. Like a spear, magic, katana etc.
This is the best farming video for Dark Souls. Thanks for taking the time to make the video dude. Not only are those the best areas to farm, but you can also farm the baby skeletons for Humanity while you're in the Giants Tomb. Not to mention the fact that you're souls farming at the same time.

There's a bonfire just a little further down the path where you kill the clams to farm twinkling titanite. It's in the middle of the room after you kill Seathe.
This video forgot to mention that you can also farm blue titanite in the Darkroot Basin. It's right where the Hydra is. Once it is beaten, you can farm the crystal golems all you want. I've actually heard that the crystal golems in the basin are weaker than the ones in the Duke's Archives.
You should realy farm with 10 humanity+gold serpent ring for the best results, :D
Was just going to say... this was a bad farm due to 1. not human, and 2. not 10+ humanity, and 3. Gold serpent ring??? Should have 410 item find if you want slab find

Thanks for making this video, I just got into playing Dark Souls and I got a Black Knight sword early on in the game and needed to find out where I could find the appropriate titanite.

Squiiddish, if didn't mention something. The clams that drop the twinkling titanite, are actually really easy to farm, because once you kill seath, a bonfire appears there, and you can just rest there and then walk over to them.

for twinklings: the current updated version of the game can make you teleport to the crystal cave, much closer to the clams. if you cant go to the cave for any reason you can farm clams in the ash lake.
other than the slab from the lizard you can get 100% sure slabs in a bunch of ways.
all colored slabs can be found on corpses in the same are where you farm them.
you can get 2 more grey slabs, one from the stray demon in the asylum (it's like a 99% chance) and one from the siegmeyer quest line
Farming: for people that would like to actually play Dark Souls and not rely on stupid glitches like the Dragon's Head EXPLOIT.
This is for people who prefer to play their games legitimately :P
Im at lvl 60 in new londo , and sincerely just now I got better at the game , still I find this area pretty hard and tidious to traverse as a melle guy, its my first time playing tho,thats why im here need shards to upgrade my gear , those archers are a pain in the ass , managed to defeat them both once and the I just fell along with the last guy.....lost like 60k souls in this particular area or maybe more....
Granted this video is extraordinarily old, but I went on the pillar route and fought the pinwheels before I decided to fight Nito, and I managed to get a slab from one my second go around lol

hey squiidish for farming twinkling titanite, you don't need to run through all just to farm the clams, once you kill seathe, you can just use that bonfire makes it very quick.

Also, on the Twinkling Titanite, you can easily get it by being around SL60, plopping down your summoning sign near the O&S bonfire and then just killing the Silver Knights while you're waiting to get summoned. Once you have a lot of souls, go to the blacksmith and buy his titanite. It's a lot more fun than farming the clams and it's earlier in the game. Plus, you get sun medals if you're a sunbro.
Thanks to the magical voice of Squiddish, I got a TITANITE SLAB. Lol I was watching this, he said that titanite slabs are retartedly rare and guess what shows up? Lol thanks Squiddish.

5:40 Instead of homeward bones, the miracle homeward is better if you have the faith to cast it cause it would save some souls in the long run.Also no need to worry about running out. Also thanks for the info and great video.

Not sure if anyone pointed this out, but once you open up the kiln of the first flame where Gwyn is, the five black knights have a 100% drop rate for titanite chunks. I know that the first and third black knights drop the regular chunks and the second drops a red titanite chunk. However, I'm not sure about the last two, but I believe that one of them drops a white titanite chunk. Not sure if this is a faster way to get them than what was in the video, but at least you know it's a 100% drop rate.

There are a lot more chaos eaters, if I am not mistaken, and you can also farm scales in the valley of the drakes. Otherwise, Great video!
at the kiln of the first flame the black knights there drop every kind of chunk all the time
The Kiln is great, but alot of people stop after the first new game, rather than going to NG+ since they want to try something new rather than just replay with harder enemies, making it useless in most situations, unless you're having trouble with Gwyn.

Red Slabs:Chaos Eaters in Lost Izalith.
White Slabs: Pinwheels in Tomb of the Giants.
Blue Slabs: Moonlight Butterflies in Crystal Caves.
Note that these all have a ridiculously small chance of dropping one, which is why he didn't get one in this video.
For those who aren't far enough along in the game to get to crystal caverns, but need twinkling titanite, there are three clams down in ash lake. Alternatively, coop assisting with iron golem 4 times will give enough souls to buy the twinkling for a single weapon or gear
I didn't even think of that. Well, now getting twinkling titanite should be much easier.

saving and quitting near where you killed the Black Knight will make the drop come back onto the bridge
You can also farm Dragon Scales from the drakes outside New Londo Ruins. With an item find of 410, they're not terribly uncommon. I farmed around 10 (the amount you need to max out one dragon weapon) in 1-2 hours.

Squiiddish you might have missed it but Dragon Scales can be farmed in PvE. In the Valley of Drakes by killing the Drakes there, but it's recommend to wear the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring from Sen's Fortress as well as having at least 1 soft Humanity because of the dropprate.
Otherwise great guide.
Astora's Straight Sword requires Twinkling Titanite, farmable from the Giant Clams and buyable from the Giant Blacksmith. Any weapon/armor that requires Twinkling Titanite does not need a slab, however they only go up to +5.
You can also get White Titanite Chunks from the teapot creatures down in Izaliths
Btw for twinkling titanite you can just use the bonfire from sif, a whole lot faster. Also I used grant on my str/faith build and it worked well (2 shot the crabs at str 36 faith 40). Also you might want to mention how they drop purge stones for those of us who are still scarred from those damn basilisks. I got 37 purge stones when I ground enough twinkling titanite to fully upgrade 2 sets of armor. I'll never anymore of those anymore lol.

I'm pretty sure the door from Demon Ruins to Lost Izalith opens even if you're not a Servant of Chaos when you come from the back (Lost Izalith) and then you can use that as a shortcut.

Whenever you want to, really. If you can take all of the enemies that drop them relatively quickly (around 3-6 hits) then go for it. They mostly don't group up much.
Additionally, if you dont have the gold serpent ring or reeally early game, the Balder Knights and undead in the church drop titanite shards reasonably often
I didn't finish the video, so he may have mentioned this: If you have humanity on you (the number in the upper left), the rate of item drops goes up (caps at 10 humanity).
Also, he's wrong about that big door he mentioned needing to talk to Quelagg's sister to open. If you are on the side of it past the Titanite (Faceless) Demon, you can open it no matter what. If you want to open it from the other side (and save a certain character) you need to give 30 humanity to Quelagg's sister.
Wrath of the gods is recommended for that room, btw. Or spam homing soul masses
The new DLC has way better farming spots now. You can get a ton of large and green titanite shards from farming the madness and twinkling titanite from the stone guardians (although I recommend still farming clams unless you know who do dodge shield shattering swings from a stone guardian).
They do. However, Item Discovery has a cap, so once you max out an Item discovery (however you do it) no further boost will help you out.

If you guys don't already know, the Royal Sentials in the hall before Ornstein and Smough have a pretty common drop rate for titanite chunks.

for demon titanite if you take the chaos servant shortcut you can farm a respawning titanite demon
thanks dude have been wanting to max the ciaran armor just beacuse of fashion souls purposes beacuse it looks awesome and it swallows tons of twinkling titanite so its a pain but the looks are worth it xD
If you use the Convetous gold serpent ring it will help boost your item discovery. which is really helpful if your farming for titanite and if you pop a humanity it will boost your item discovery by 50.
There is a quest line involving Siegmeyer of Catarina and his daughter, Sieglinde (The fat, onion-head knights) that rewards you with a colorless slab at the end. The entire thing is a long, pain in the ass ordeal that requires you to be at certain areas in a certain order and it's only one slab but.... well, it's one slab.
The two, giant Sentinels in Anor Londo just outside the Ornstein and Smough boss fight can drop colorless chunks but they also drop giant shields and halberds in the mix.
