Nice intro! My Emerge replaced Beolab 4s, which in turn replaced Beovox CX100 in my bedroom - the Emerge absolutely blew those other speakers out of the water for clarity and bass response at normal listening levels. It isn't a party speaker, but it gives the best background music I have ever heard for quieter rooms. Thanks for a great video!
Well Lab 4's are some seriously odd looking speakers too :p The Emerge is good, just not super loud. I think we've been spoiled with the previous Beoplay range and how capable it was at all volumes.
@@Mikipedia Agreed. The Emerge is so tiny that I guess some compromise couldn't be avoided. Just amazing how deep the bass is at low volumes though!

Nice review! I often wonder why all the B&O reviews seem to be comin from B&O dealerships....but I do love them things.
They are the only ones guaranteed to get them lol. I am not a dealer so I had to ask my dealer for help and he graciously did. I wouldn't have been able to do this if I had to buy every new product that came out :p

How about multiroom vs emerge ? I read there’s an update coming ? They talk about Connecting more speakers but, not via b&o app then? 🤔
Beolink is coming in Q3/Q4 of this year B&O has said. You can already multiroom connect them with airplay or chromecast.

Thanks for the review!!! I'm thinking about connecting a turntable and use it as a stereo pair for a small room. But I don't know if it will work or doI have to get a Beosound Core in order to make it work. What are your opinion on that? Thanks in advance.
Hi Camilo, I would highly advise to buy a Stage for this purpose or a Beosound 2 or even a Beosound Level. The connection is far easier for all three and you still get stereo sound with a much more capable speaker for the times you want to have a party or rock out by yourself so to say :p
If you really wanted to you could go with 2 Emerge', you wouldn't need a core, for the best connection ask Steve from SoundsHeavenly to make you a stereo line in cable. The speakers can be paired wirelessly, but with a line in connection and a cable you'll never have a risk of drop out.
I like the Emerge, but it doesn't do loud noises well. I like it more as an auxiliary speaker(s) than as a main driver so to say.

It is kind of disappointing that most reviews seem to be based on this black version, and that even if the oak leaves you with a much more positive impression, if it was the black one you’ve held first, then that first impression might ruin your judgment of the oak and what could have been a better first impression. Let me emphasize that availability is an issue, so it is definitely not your fault, and you also mentioned in your review that you liked the oak more. It just sucks that everything is just «coming soon», where the definition of soon can be up to several months :/. Then you’re just stuck with reviewing anything that is available. Price: it is true that it is almost half the price of the Balance, and between 2 x Emerge and 1 x Balance I think you’d have a very clear winner. I need the sound where the Emerge seems to lack. So that much cash for the oak is a bit of a stretch due to the sound and despite of the premium looks of the oak, but I wouldn’t want the black one even if it is cheaper. I do think the slim design looks fantastic (I don’t mind B&O not being shouty about itself as long as it is a unique and attractive design), I just wish it came with a bigger/better sound. One more thing regarding the price: public opinion seemed to agree that the H95 could have perhaps cost even more and what they would’ve originally cost before launch, I agree with that too. With the Emerge it is the opposite. If they’ve sacrificed the sound of the M5 for the design, the materials and design of the oak still shouldn’t cost you more than the M5 in my opinion. Maybe I’m naive when it comes to the real cost of making these... Then again, I do believe that it sounds great if you consider it as a small speaker that is simply limited due to the form factor. I like the idea of a book and in my home where I have a lot of wood it would fit perfectly. Hidden or not. Then I’d just have to accept that sound is what it is. But I’d still need a main speaker with much more sound. It is great that B&O has launched Balance, Level and Emerge, and I’ll add a couple to my Beosound 1 as soon as they get the Beolink support. Until then I’ll digest strategy and have a proper listen at a dealer. Thanks for your honest review, I always look forward to your take on a new B&O product. Take care :).
Yeah, it's a big of a strange one this one. It's nice, but maybe it's too different again to be super excited about. B&O does that where the design becomes better over time :p
The black version is discontinued. Only gold/oak and none of the other colours promised. The £539 price must have been too low for B&O as it is now £799.
By 2023 they dropped the black option so only in gold oak and increased the price to £799, up 19% on the previous price narrowing the difference to the more recent A5 release.
A hard call at the launch price of £539 made much harder at the new £799 price point. It does not look like a speaker, should not be as good as it really is in this tiny format. It blends into any room more easily than the Beosound Level or Balance. A good stereo sound stage as pair. Beosound Level, double the price, more drive units in the speaker but have a very similar sound presences and in multi-room makes for an even nicer set up.
The down sideof all the Mozart platform speakers is that they will not synch video from a computer or television. Airplay 2 works from Apple devices. The Beolab 28 and Beolab 8 have Mozart streaming features but also powerlink and WiSA making them more flexible, but at a higher cost.
Return of the black version for November 2023. Discounted to pre-September price for Black Friday and back up to full rrp afterwards.

Hi Miki. Would you be tempted to buy the gold/oak version at approx 616 Euros?
That's a lot better in terms of pricing, but honestly for my preference it's still a bit much. It's not a bad speaker but it has a very specific purpose, one that I have very little use for personally. If it works for you though, that price is a lot better.
@@Mikipedia thanks for the quick reply! If I’m honest I just like the design, it would go nice on my oak bookshelf unit and be used for the odd podcast or some radio streaming and a few songs, but not critical listening of whole albums.

Hoe zit het met multiroom en deze emerge?
multiroom is er al via airplay en of chromecast, het beolink multiroom protocol zal komen in een update in Q3/4 van dit jaar is wat B&O zei.

It's just a hobby really, for now i don't feel it's worth it to invest in a bunch of sliders and high end tripod setups etc. Thank you for watching and commenting thought!
Don’t buy any products from B&O. You will know what happens once the product needs to repair. Worst customer service on the planet.
