She figured if she was going to have a car payment, it may as well be a nice car. Insurance is almost $300 a month. I don’t know why she didn’t settle for a more practical car. Yeah, I have the occasional repair that sometimes takes a chunk, but I couldn’t deal with an almost $700 payment EVERY month.
Usually true of vehicles but not always. With the chip back log, vehicle values rose dramatically from five years ago. People sold used trucks for more than they purchased them. Plus, investment returns are never written in stone. Return rates of 10-15% are casually thrown out there but it's not like they're bonds so you can't count on them.
This all comes down to how people want to be perceived. Driving a brand new Raptor makes people THINK you’re good with money. Makes people THINK your bank account is huge. That you have it together. When in reality it’s almost always the opposite.

Glad i paid cash 6700 cash for my '10 civic. Almost got into the trap of getting a payment to get something a little nicer. Even though it was a nightmare finding this car, its paid for and I'm not stuck paying for a few years.
And here I was feeling guilty for having a $251/month car payment back in the day... I thank the universe everyday for paying off my car. just wow, good luck to them :/
Just wow is accurate
Thank God not the universe
