Just catching up with your videos and seeing how strong you are and able to cope with your various disabilities really humbles me. I have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis in my knees, as well as bipolar type 2 and possible ADHD. I can't imagine being blind or deaf, even if it's one side and hearing you being so candid, open and honest really teaches me a lot about these things. Like you, you wouldn;t know I had a disability and in the last few years have started using a stick but doesn't stop me trying things that others think I won't or can't do, I'm very stubborn lol. Love your videos and it's always like listening to a friend. xxx

You are so right about being strong. I often say to people that just because I have anxiety and depression don't think I am weak . I get a degree of joint pain because of my menopause and the fact I am overweight but nothing compared to people with chronic pain . I think you are right when you say you are a warrior because you fight with your disabilities not letting them be the winner. I am so proud to call you a friend . In my line of work, I see so many people letting pain, etc, be the winner in their life . Fantastic video, Emily . 🤺💪👼 because you always want to help and support other people.

PS I am also a chronic pain warrior. However, there are times due to my anxiety that it can feel like suffering. And that’s OK because feeling down about pain is temporary. I agree with you about helping one another understand that even if I walk with a stick, I am not less of a person or a non-person because sometimes people don’t treat you well when you are disabled in anyway. The stigma is sometimes worse than whatever illness. A person might have. Talking about all kinds of disabilities is a wonderful thing and should be normalized instead of stigmatized. So thank you again for your courage and honesty.

Thank you for this video! I was born with what they called a lazy left eye so I know about the problem with depth perception. I constantly port adjacent to the cup. Sending you lots of love and Aloha ❤

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm sure it is not an easy thing to do. 💖 If you feel comfortable with it, I would love to hear more about what it means to be a mother with disabilities and the false assumptions abled people can have about it.

While I can’t ever know what it’s like for you, I am also in a body I didn’t choose.
I have very poor eyesight and I haven’t been weight bearing through my right side since 2012, but the thing I struggle with every day is being in pain.
I’m prescribed painkillers and I have to collect them every week (apparently because they’re a controlled drug) but they don’t get rid of the pain, they do take some of the sting out of it and make it more bearable. I only take 4 a day because I don’t want to become addicted to them.
I have osteoporosis too and have broken both hips and two other limbs in the last 18 months.
Thankfully I have had my permanent urethral catheter removed (against medical advice) and I have gone back to intermittent catheters and because I can wear anything I like, I’m much happier. (Fingers crossed that the urge incontinence improves, but it’s been a while…!)

@novellenovels Emily , I appreciated your advice on not overstepping. Allowing a person to tell me if he or she needs help in a certain circumstance.
I am always worried about that. I don't want to make anyone feel I don't think they are capable, but I also never want anyone to be stressed, then feel embarrassed that they had to ask for help. You really helped . 💜💜🦋🥰
