- WM Moreno Valley's Julio Rangel got to celebrate his 36th year with the company in a brand new rig! After driving the infamous 105404 for seven years, it was time to try something new. WM MoVal received 6 new McNeilus ZRs to try out in May, and Julio was picked to try one out with his prior experience using McNeilus equipment and also having a preference for joystick when operating ASLs. Years ago, Julio actually got to drive McNeilus Autoreaches when MoVal first started heavily automating routes in the late 1990s.
The first few days were a little rough, but after about a week, Julio was already loving the truck. He said it's faster than 105404 and packs really well. Seen here is Julio on his Thursday and Friday route in Menifee and Sun City. I was glad to see him in Sun City because of the old school vibe in the area. Sun City is an old people community so many residents still have the old burgundy Cascades from the late 90s and early 2000s. As you can see some even have white wheels which is super cool.

I was waiting patiently for this one! Every time we see Julio it just keeps getting better and better. The new truck matched with the old school wm cans paired with a driver who has lived and seen generations of evolution within the company seals it all together. Excellent video, quite a masterpiece!

I wonder why they didn’t opt with the integrated CNrG tailgate? Very unusual for Waste Management nowadays. I never really cared for 520s but this is a sleek looking truck! Is WM over there ever gonna buy LRs?

I'm personally not a fan of wm's newer tailgates with yellow only on the back especially on mcneilus asls
glad they chose ZR's; hopper is much bigger and the arm is more gentle.
