    Nice progress! I think the pull-up is something important to consider as well. If you think about 1 turn lighthouse or 1 turn airplane or even regular airplane, you ultimately want the big cup facing your chest (not to the right or left) so that the handle comes around while the cup faces are parallel to your body. I usually start with them facing away and do a slight 1/4 twist on the release til the lowest point so that the big cup and small cup are facing toward and away from me (not right or left) - gravity just seems to help align them that way rather than starting with the cups facing you. A wonky pull-up can throw the whole trick off balance.

      Thanks dude! Yea that's absolutely a good point, and the challenge of the pull up pretty much led me now to start my taps right from tama grip with the Ken inside. Much easier to keep it stable, but I really should use some of your advice here to try and tackle the full pull up into taps. Thanks for the wisdom, and for checking this out😅

    Great video… I love the emphasis on not getting too fixated on the pure mechanics of the trick, but also to focus on the feel of the trick. This is an excellent reminder for me. I think mastering any trick on any skill toy involves a blend of mechanics/technique and feel. Thanks again for the great tips!! Ⓜ️ary

    good shit man! i started learning taps quite early into my kendama play and it paid dividends for sure. landed a trip tap jug spike a few weeks ago and was super hyped.
    a tip from me would be to really master the one turn airplane. this is so that everytime you throw the ken before pulling up to tap, the cups are perpendicular, making it easier to tap and less likely that the ken will make a weird rotation while/after tapping

    • @mediochrist
      @mediochrist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aye yo that's a good point to mention! When the cups aren't perpendicular the taps spin like crazy so the 1-T airplane probably helps the muscle memory to get that under control. @Everyone, another solid tip for taps^^😅

      Ooo I've tried a bit, so much tougher to catch the Ken when it's spinning the inward way🥴

    can u do 2 tap jug to spike ok now 9 months later?

    • @mediochrist
      @mediochrist  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea it's much easier to control after lots of practice, and it's one of my favourite tricks to pop out for fun! It is way easier for me though when I start from tama grip with the Ken spiked, like a jstick, rather than pulling up the Ken with a swing. Probably because I practiced that more and it's definitely an easier starting point👀
