The envirobuses we have 12 Plate are numbered from 36523 to 36527 We got them last year April 2012 and a driver said they had the wrong fuel tanks fitted so we had to change the nozzle on the fillers now they are running well these are the single deck Enviro 200`s we also have some of the double deck 400`s our bus company is Stagecoach Grimsby Cleethorpes.
At my depot, all buses are out on the road first thing and management are very strict about leaving the depot on time as they realise people need us to get to work. I've never known a service to be missed out, but at First (where I also use to work) often a service was missed out and they didn't care at all. In my home town people are always moaning at me about First as they've yet again put their fares up and changed their routes.
I've never had many breakdowns at my depot. In the two and half years out of all the depots I've worked at, I've had about two and that was an overheating problem. Therefore, to be honest, breakdowns aren't that common at all.
Did they Say what was wrong with your bus? I like buses especially the Volvo F7L and the Dennis Enviro 200`s of which we have got 5 on the 16 Willows Estate route sometimes appearing on the 13 Route
Well most of the time it is the company that owns the buses that are responsible, yes of course breakdowns will happen, these vehicles spend all day on the road but at the end of the day I live near Newcastle and Arriva NE has a reputation for poor reliability, when drivers know something is wrong with their buses more often than not they continue on regardless and the buses are never maintained, surely you'll agree that bad maintenance increases the chances of a breakdown by a heck of a lot
The odds of being a passenger on a bus breadown are quite few and far between. Stagecoach service their vehicles every three weeks, even though the VOSA requirement is four weeks. They spend alot of money on servicing in order to minimise breakdowns. They also invest extensively in new vehicles and don't like tatty vehicles, which is why they repaint their buses every two years regardless. Don't forget, I drive them day in day out and can't remember the last time I had a bus breakdown on me.
That is sure an Enviro400, but can't see if it's the Alexander Dennis or Scania platform. Working in the dark winter evenings is so depressing. I hate dark mornings and evenings.
Why is that? Stagecoach could be far worse. At least they make an effort to keep buses running, unlike First, where it's hit and miss if it will turn up at all.
Thay need to fix them right I was on the 313 gowing to stoxkport bus as soon as I got on at asdwood it broke down so we had to wait for the 319 by stagechohch opter
Probably not. This bus makes up about 0.0001% of the fleet and with Souter's millions and many other assets, I'm sure he really is bothered. I very much doubt he even knows this vehicle exists on his many fleets of many.
Scania enviro400s are ok attually. Its the long wheel base 1 that 1 is terrible, they go up in flames or the egsuast pipe falls of....oh and they shred there fan belt alot.....
I wonder if the driver would of said "Please Stop Filming this!" to you. I was on a Dennis Dart Last Sunday at 16:00 and the brakes ground so our driver said to us " This Bus Sounds ILL" So Stagecoach sent us another Bus 15 Minutes later on our number 13 route.
Northampton alx400's and 09 Man enviro's 300... = forever breaking down! Man's have radiators that get choked up and overheat... Alx400's spent 5 years thrashed from p'boro - milton keynes... Enviro 400's are falling apart (scania) and the 12 reg scania enviro 300's are sooooo sloooowww!!! Not to mention the allotment sheds... I mean darts... The only ones that seem to work well are the 60 reg vdl 300's lol
this bus is 19049 - MX56 FRU, it is still in service
i recovered this vehicle back to sharston depot, had a nackered high pressure fuel pump :)
