I just bought this oven and so far am loving it. My question for you is, why does the screen show a thermometer with a down arrow after I microwave something for a few seconds?
Very helpful presentation, thank you for the demonstration. I Just ordered one from Best Buy as I need a "Toaster/Microwave" combo in my RV (hope it does that?), and a cleaner way to cook bacon without grease going all over the coach. As a note, I've been using my Breville Toaster Oven (in my home) to cook bacon on the broiler pan in Bake Mode @ 380 deg for about 15 min., and it works great with no grease splatter and the bacon comes out flat and crisp! :) Assume this oven will do the same, but will need to find a broiler pan that will fit. The other features of this oven are just a plus for me :) Thanks again!

@@WaveOvenRecipes I just realized the oven has no bottom element, so "toasting" is probably out :( I think I can make the bacon thing work in at least ONE of the modes. Can you touch the sides and top when it's running, or is it so hot you can cook on it? Have an old Kenmore micro/convection oven that sits in an opening under my counter top and it doesn't get that hot. But it just died, and I need a new one, and this is one of the choices besides the Panasonic 4 in 1. Thanks for the great review.
Although there are a lot of aspects of temperature testing that could be included. I have to keep it limited. It is best to give all cookers proper clearance. In addition to the outside temperature on top. There's the back where it may be nearest a wall. And the underside, to consider for a suitable countertop. It can become its own all encompassing video. But honestly, I have learned the ROI is poor, and general interest from most to that level of detail is low. As in, people leave the video, and it makes the return on the effort unsuitable to continue doing. So I keep it limited. Thank you for your understanding.

Because of your in depth reviews my Breville Combi-wave is arriving tomorrow. I plan on doing a full size pizza in mine with the following method. Using the standard way, but when the unit dings for the installing food portion, I'm placing a Wok Pan ring on the the enclosed pan with a pizza wire mesh pan on top of it with the pizza. My understanding is that the Micro wave portion has been completed, and its all convection oven from then on. The wire mesh pans really help crisp the crust I've found by doing them in my small Breville Smart oven. If anyone see's a flaw in my intended method PLEASE let me know.
Thanks for sending me a link to the video on doing a 12" pizza, I missed that one, but...Now I'm going to follow the technique in it with the wire mesh pizza pan, because the crust was soggy, and I've never had a soggy one with the wire mesh. A friend of mine that owned a pizzeria said for home made pizza that's the only way to go, beside a pizza stone.
Orange is not an indicator of hot. I have seen many a cooker with hot heating elements that never change color at all. I describe which run when in the video.
Hi thank you so much for this detailed review. I am from the UK and only now in October 2020 are we getting notifications that this oven is going to be available here shortly. After as few months of use would you still recommend this item? as it's quite expensive here but with a small kitchen I am trying to find a satisfactory all in one to make life easier and some of the other big brand names we have here are consistently getting bad reviews and even worse customer service.
How does it do with a frozen pizza? The turntable is 12.4" but you wouldn't use it to cook a pizza, and the pan is much smaller. Thanks for any suggestions.
Was the inside stainless. It looked like it was. I don’t want non stick. But it does look like the pans that come with the oven are non stick. Hopefully I could use other pans. This oven is not available anywhere. 8 inch clearance with 20 inches deep is very cumbersome.
About doing bacon, years ago I picked up a device called 'Makin bacon' Its about 14 bucks. It's a lot better than having bacon sitting in a puddle of grease. Plus put a wt paper towel over top. These devices are still available.
This doesn't have an air fryer fan, so I'm thinking it must use the microwave to heat the crisper pan when preheating for air frying. Anybody figured out how it works?
I think i agree with you when you say that this is better than Amazons smart oven. However, the price points are a good amount different with one at 450 and the other at 250. Buying the breville is almost twice as much... with that said do you think the amazon smart oven is a better bang for your buck? I know you add 10 to 20 min in cooking with the amazon but you also save 200 bucks so i don't know. What do you think?
I'm not liking the looks of it. It doesn't look like it has a heat element on the bottom, correct? So the "air fryer" only would cook from the top, and the crisper pan wouldn't allow much air to circulate. Also, you can't even use it for 4 slices of toast?
See my 30 Day Review for more details: th-cam.com/video/g6Vs_ThsAJ0/w-d-xo.html There are cookers that do more, but we will never have them in the home anytime soon. As I mentioned in an earlier video, I was calling a cooker that does better the magic chef, it's actually the *Turbo Chef* . It is used by commerical businesses and has a combination of impingement and microwave cooking technology. Impingement cooking is convection cooking on another level. These cookers can fully cook wings from frozen like they came out of a fryer in just 3 minutes. Cook a full sized fresh pizza in 3 minutes or less. A 15 pound turkey in just 1 hour. Look next time you get food at a movie theater at how they cook your food so quickly. They're probably using a Turbo Chef. They cost a mere $12,000, yes twelve thousand dollars. And they need about 9,600 watts of power. No regular home kitchen supports that. So what we all really want we probably will never have anytime soon 🤣 . You can see a short demo video of the Turbo Chef here: th-cam.com/video/RXp-utV-kmg/w-d-xo.html So, for the home, we have to take what we can get. And I don't see it getting better than the Breville Combi Wave anytime soon. There will have to be some major advancements in cooking technology in general for things to change. Like being able to bring impingement cooking with a microwave down to 1,800 watts. I doubt we'll see that happening anytime soon.
Sorry for blowing up your comments today. I am having trouble finding a cart that seems large enough to accommodate my new Combi Wave. Can you tell me which one you're using in the video?
The whole reason for air frying is so you don't get greasy foods, so you use the black pan with the foldable legs and you put the chrome tray on top and the black pan becomes the drip pan , and for certain things it can be used to save the juices of certain meats to even make a rue or gravy! 🙃
@@WaveOvenRecipes Pressing the start button while it's running adds 30 seconds each time you press it. I use that a lot when whatever I'm cooking is almost done and I can see thru the door it need a bit more.
@@WaveOvenRecipes I've found the "bit more" button to be kinda weird anyway. The first time I push it, it adds like 2 and a half minutes, the next time I use it it gives like 30 seconds and won't give more time until that 30 seconds expires. So I've just been pressing the start button and add 30 seconds at a time until I get the needed time added. Press it 4 times get 2 minutes etc... During the end of the cook time I just look in and check to see if it's done or not and add the time as needed. It's too bad the manual is so basic on the functions.
All fast food restaurants and many others would literally have to shut down if that was true. So long as cooked food is refrigerated or frozen before sitting at room temperature it's A-OK to reheat. Just reheat to a temp safe for the meat or rice or whatever.

Orange is not an indicator of hot. I have seen many a cooker with hot heating elements that never change color at all. I describe which run when in the video.
Question: May this oven be built in?
This isn't recommended in the manual.

Would you recommend the June over this oven?
I explained why I don't use June here:

@@WaveOvenRecipes that's the same video, wont rewatch it. But thanks will go to another reviewer and unsubscribe Good Luck
@@geefoo5195 I gave my thoughts on June in that video. If you already saw it, there you go. Happy trails.

Sir, which oven do you prefer: Breville Combi or the Nuwave Bravo XL, and why? Thank you.
See: th-cam.com/video/g6Vs_ThsAJ0/w-d-xo.html
how do you make toast??
I'm shopping for an oven and really appreciate this review! But... why you cooking bacon and not covering it?
Do it how you prefer.
How does it do with a frozen pizza? The turntable is 12.4" but you wouldn't use it to cook a pizza, and the pan is much smaller. Thanks for any suggestions.
th-cam.com/video/Y3ioEMCWUgw/w-d-xo.html
how to you adjust temps etc?
I think details are in the video 🙂
Does this oven get hot on the top and sides?
I think if you watch the full video you may be able to determine.
Thank you!!!
You're welcome. There's plenty more in this playlist:

thanks for stating the specs
Was the inside stainless. It looked like it was. I don’t want non stick. But it does look like the pans that come with the oven are non stick. Hopefully I could use other pans. This oven is not available anywhere. 8 inch clearance with 20 inches deep is very cumbersome.
I can't guarantee, you'd have to ask Breville to be certain.
silly question perhaps... does this make toast as well?
Not easily.
You have a lot of airfryer oven video's. Whic h air fryer can fit a 9 by 13 bakr pan with no handles?
A lot, I recommend you check out a video of one that interests you.

About doing bacon, years ago I picked up a device called 'Makin bacon' Its about 14 bucks. It's a lot better than having bacon sitting in a puddle of grease. Plus put a wt paper towel over top. These devices are still available.
Where can i buy this owen, and what is the price.
You can go here and search for "breville combi wave 3-in-1" without quotes:

If you want to cook a nice piece of salmon, will it force you use the microwave...
...Or can you use the regular oven...choice...??...
You can use whatever you want 🙂
But their preset for fish will probably give you best outcome.
This doesn't have an air fryer fan, so I'm thinking it must use the microwave to heat the crisper pan when preheating for air frying. Anybody figured out how it works?

U export?

I think i agree with you when you say that this is better than Amazons smart oven. However, the price points are a good amount different with one at 450 and the other at 250. Buying the breville is almost twice as much... with that said do you think the amazon smart oven is a better bang for your buck? I know you add 10 to 20 min in cooking with the amazon but you also save 200 bucks so i don't know. What do you think?
I give my take here:
th-cam.com/video/g6Vs_ThsAJ0/w-d-xo.html
Time is money 💰
I'm not liking the looks of it. It doesn't look like it has a heat element on the bottom, correct? So the "air fryer" only would cook from the top, and the crisper pan wouldn't allow much air to circulate. Also, you can't even use it for 4 slices of toast?

There are cookers that do more, but we will never have them in the home anytime soon.
You can see a short demo video of the Turbo Chef here:
th-cam.com/video/RXp-utV-kmg/w-d-xo.html
So, for the home, we have to take what we can get. And I don't see it getting better than the Breville Combi Wave anytime soon. There will have to be some major advancements in cooking technology in general for things to change. Like being able to bring impingement cooking with a microwave down to 1,800 watts. I doubt we'll see that happening anytime soon.
But did the nuggets taste good??
They were fine, but this is what you need:

Do you plan on using the Nuwave Bravo XL less and use the Breville Combi 3 in 1 more ?
I use various cookers.

Sorry for blowing up your comments today. I am having trouble finding a cart that seems large enough to accommodate my new Combi Wave. Can you tell me which one you're using in the video?

When I need to move it, I just move it.
My light looks way dimmer than yours - I just got it yesterday. I can barely see what’s inside
The whole reason for air frying is so you don't get greasy foods, so you use the black pan with the foldable legs and you put the chrome tray on top and the black pan becomes the drip pan , and for certain things it can be used to save the juices of certain meats to even make a rue or gravy! 🙃
I proved it works out with the pan alone, many times.

Hit that a bit more button and haver it toss your bacon!
I’d that pan safe to microwave
Is the pan that came with it safe to microwave in
It tells when to use it. I think I talked about some times to use it and not in the video, if you watch it through.
@@WaveOvenRecipes I watched the whole video, I was just freaking out about the metal legs
I don't know how they do it. But I only use it when they say, and it works like a grill plate.
@@WaveOvenRecipes thanks
I’m gonna press a “bit more” actually let me press a “A bit more again” oh.... it doesn’t let me press it again.......
More time can be added by spinning the dial though. My reviews test everything and more. 🙂
@@WaveOvenRecipes Pressing the start button while it's running adds 30 seconds each time you press it. I use that a lot when whatever I'm cooking is almost done and I can see thru the door it need a bit more.
I know. Many microwaves including my old GE microwave have the _Add 30_ option.
I would like _A Bit More_ to be as useful.

Why are all your comments a single letter or number? Are you a bot?
I've been told that you shouldn't re-heat poultry, or rice once cooked !
I disagree and I can't even think of anyone who supports that point of view.
@@WaveOvenRecipes Something to do with bacteria...
All fast food restaurants and many others would literally have to shut down if that was true. So long as cooked food is refrigerated or frozen before sitting at room temperature it's A-OK to reheat. Just reheat to a temp safe for the meat or rice or whatever.
