A Goomba is an outlaw to the kingdom and eats toads, a koopa is a minion to bowser, and a spiny is a monster...
That laugh though cap is very maniacal
Mario killed a lot of people in his day. Every time you squashed a goomba, stomped on a bullet bill, or torched a koopa paratroopa, you were killing one of your own people who had been transformed against their will by King Koopa.

Mario is not evil because goombas help bowser who was in charge of his goombas before stealing the princess therefore making it a war

So about that rant in the opener, in one of the manuals from one of the first games it says that goombas actually betrayed the Mushroom Kingdom, koopas work for the guy who kidnapped the princess, thwomps try to squish Mario if he dare comes near, chain chomps always try to pounce on Mario, and more. Now Mario is a villain in some cases (excluding player inputs) but not in that way.
Actually here is some thing in the manual it says that the toads are turned into bricks and he kills them by breaking them and he is literally murdering sea creatures who have nothing to do with it

You know there used to be a manual guide on Super Mario 3 that said Bowser Put a Spell on the Toads that turn them into blocks so every time Mario breaks a block is killing a toad and every time he gets a coin he's robbing their dead body
