+goremonio Yeah it's one of the best trails ever. I've done a lot of trail work on it. Rebuilt the rock garden and made the log roller. Ken Burton Trail is now open if you go all the way up brown mtn. It's a great trail and drops you out by the dam on gabrielino. Check it out if you're up for a 15 mile ride!

Oh man, its been a few years since I rode El-P, I use to do Brownie up and down once a week. The one lingering memory I have of El P is poison oak, everywhere at the bottom half stream crossings. I stopped riding it because I got a bad dose of it every ride even thru leggings. I need to get back riding again. Is the poison oak still bad thru this or did the fires burn it out?
It's been at least a year since my last trip to El P, and you're right about the poison oak - it's really awful there. The worst even! The SGC fires didn't reach over anywhere close to this area - they stopped before monrovia peak and burned along hwy 39. Sand fires were on the other side of the range to the north.
Yeah, Gabrielino Trail right next to El Prieto is much easier. It's relatively flat but still a lot of fun. You may also want to try Cherry Canyon in Pasadena.
This is an awesome trail. My brother and his friends initiated me into the sport on this trail.

Nice natural tunnels and diversity of obstacles. It actually reminds me of south florida trails like Loyce Harpe and Alafia. Enjoyed the vids. Sub'd

My legs thank you for the reply before I did this again just to end up laid up with red blistery calves, I'll stick to Brownie for now :D
