Son los mejores carros que fabricó la toyota el 22r salieron para durar toda la vida yo tengo uno de los mismos del año 86 y en el me vine desde San Antonio texas asta Tegucigalpa Honduras y aún lo conservó nítido saludos saludos
I bought a 87 Toyota pick up truck automatic in 1995 it only had 48,000 miles on it. I drove it back-and-forth to work maybe under 5 miles and all around Southern California then I moved to Albuquerque New Mexico live there for five years drove it back-and-forth to work. After that I moved to Dallas. Drove back-and-forth to work and now I live in San Antonio it still takes a damn beating and keep going. I currently have 160,000 miles on it and it needs some work done to it and I think I know who to call. P. S. I just start having issues with my truck and here is 2018.
NICE truck. I justreplaced on my 87 carb as well, the water pump, thermostat, and fan belt. NEW radiator and new TUNE UP. new vacuum lines all over. truck sat for about 7 months, 170K miles.
I have one here in Africa with over 400000 km beautiful car it is ..mine now needs some work done on it though.. I wish we had a toyata pickup community you know like how those with BMWs gather n do drag races and all.
I had an 87 Toyota truck back then. Such a great little truck, only problem I ever had was the master cylinder clutch went out three times over the years. Cheap fix but I didn't know how to drive without the clutch so my hubby would have to come pick it up.
@Fred Ragers VII Yes, but hardly anybody spends $$$$$$$$ on buying a factory carburetor and puts it on the shelf for 20 years. That is why I was wondering where they found an unused, still in the box, factory Toyota carburetor. I have yet to see one.
I don’t know if you guys still check comments on here but I’d really like to ask a question regarding my 1987 Toyota pickup. I’ve had it almost 2-3 years now and I just rebuilt the transmission and extension housing with a new driveshaft yoke but now I’m dealing with a rough idle and I’m thinking it’s something to do with the choke and have no idea about the carbs on them. But once it heats up it’s all good and drives fine but while it’s cold if you let it idle it just puts and sometimes it’ll just shut it self off. Any tips would be amazing knowing you guys know more about them than I probably do. I own the 22r with the l40d trans I’m pretty sure
I have the same rough idle when cold, but when it's warmed up to operating temperature, it runs good. If the auxiliary accelerator pump diaphragm on the carburetor is cracked and leaking, it can cause the engine to run rich on cold starts. There are two of these diaphragms. One is controlled manually when you press on the gas pedal and the other is by vacuum. There is also a temperature switch that shuts off the function of the auxiliary accelerator pump diaphragm when the engine reaches operating temperature. That's why the engine runs fine when warmed up. You can search online for more info. Hopes this helps.
I had an 87 back in the day. It is one of the most favorite vehicles that I've owned.

That '87 pickup has 5-speed? I have the '90 model (also standard with the 22R), but it's only 4-speed. You also look like the wolverine btw :)
I have the 87 also. Just like that one. Only 4 speed.
I have a 87 just like that but has a 5 speed
I have had them both in (5) and (4) speeds, kinda liked the (4) speed better.
