I don’t know. I am not trying to just argue, but “by far” there was so many different characters that had great arcs. I liked Nates. Going from a scared humble, yet ill tempered, maintenance man, to a leader within the club, the fallout, head coaching gig. I like how he was built up to be kind of the villain but then figured his own life out and made the right choices. Yes at first it got him fired and he was lost for a bit, but he also got to realize he was loved, got to ask for forgiveness, and even got the chance for redemption.

It just felt like they brought in Jade (and his parents a little) as a sort of sounding board to show the audience Nate's process, but the work needed with the characters he actually influenced by his shitty actions was barely there.

Ted went in with the attitude that he was there to coach all aspects of the player, both on and off the field. But he also approached it as a collaborative experience where he could learn just as much as teach. He practiced what he preached. Through out the show he is striving to be a better version of himself while encouraging the same in his players. When they fail he gives them patience and forgiveness, even when everyone around him is against it. When they succeed he celebrates their victory and takes no credit in their accomplishments. Not just a great coach. Not just a great leader. A good man.

Man, I effing HATED Jamie Tartt in S1 *and* S2. Couldn’t find one redeeming quality in his personality (obviously he was amazing on the pitch). His journey to redemption was so well written-there wasn’t a singular moment that made him instantly change his ways, like another show might have handled it-it took time and he faced backlash, as he should have. It’s also a testament to the acting of Phil Dunster. Seeing this montage, and watching the S1&2 Jamie mouthing off about how great he is to everyone, you see a man -alone-. Alone without any role model or mentor, alone even among his teammates-he knows it, and he hates them for it. So he makes them as miserable as he is; that’s how he knows just what to say to get under Obisanya’s skin. But it’s the moment of recognition he’s being selfish in the locker room, understanding he’s being a hypocrite and not ironic with the coaches, the cringe right before Roy hugs him-Phil just nails it and he deserves all the accolades he gets.

I know this is fictional, but it almost made me cry , as ex semi/pro n pro u17 , so many of my friends/ teammates went thru exactly that , myself included great video for all young up and coming players that are under extreme pressure
