Josh Duhamel And Jay Leno Drive A 1963 Corvette Sting Ray | CNBC Prime
I'm in Minot, North Dakota !!! Josh is the man !!! He's done a lot for Minot and North Dakota. He spoke at the University of North Dakota (UND) the weekend my daughter was graduating. When people see him in town, they always comment about how he's a real down-to-earth guy. The video's ending was funny. I really thought Josh was going to pace a real road race. Great video.
Why not Minot... My sister in law taught at the Magic High campus for many years. Her kids are 7 and 10 years younger than Josh. She and my brother did leave town after they lost their house in the big flood and moved to Grand Forks ND. I heard that Josh did a lot after the flood for the city. Great to hear from a fellow ND. I grew up East of you in Lakota ND.
I grew up in North Dakota and spent much of those 18 years on the family farm situated 30 miles south of Minot between Max and Benedict.
@@cactustweeter2890 Small world for those of us from North Dakota. My cousin taught and coached for years at Velva High School.
I’m from Detroit Lakes, MN about 45 min from the border with ND. I never knew this guy was from ND, pretty cool guy to have from your state if you ask me.
7:42-7:46🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the way he asks and the way leno responds. It's like a kid asking his dad for permission.
Jay Leno bringing a 63 Vette for someone else to drive? What a lucky man
Haha love the ending
Lmfao i drove by them and the old bikers... many questions got answered in the video lmao
One of my most favorite cars! Thanks Jay.
GM introduced fuel injection back in '56-'57. It was available in the '57 Bel Air and the Corvette.
March 26,1963, I took delivery of one just like this one.
CAN I SAY.........I ENVY YOU
must be good times then eh? Too abd I love all things from 60s and 70s, although I grew up during the 90s and now as a 29 year old wonder, what changes would I see in 2070?
Josh failed MicroBiology with me...he was my study partner.
hahah
The thing about those early Stingray's was, they were so light it didn't take much horsepower to make them fast.
Josh 😍😍😍😍😍
I restored an early 1963 Corvetts roadster (#2052 of 3000). Loved that car!!
Yep..Jay you are always good to watch n listen to..thanks
Corvette Stingray America's Sport Car 1963 - 1966 is My Favorite.
I've only seen a couple on the road in my lifetime. That rare.
Lucky Guy.
Good one Jay/Josh ! I am from Minot, ND also, I worked on the BNRR there in the 70's. Been in the Bay Area California since '81. I watch ALL of your great videos. Keep them coming for this hard core car guy here !
Gavin yard....
@@porterdassenko6561 yes sir. Mesquito heaven inspecting trains on those hot summer nights.....
Josh can drive me anywhere, i am ready and waiting. ❤️💚❤️
That '63 is a beautiful car even in silver.
Mexican Spec silver is always beautiful
This is the kind of stuff NBC should stick to instead of trying to tell us what to think about politics
RIGHT ON....I 100% AGREE !
One would think they would get it by now. I honestly do not anyone that watches regular TV anymore. Even my Pop who is 81 streams shows.
@@dirtydave2691 If it is in black and white, you can trust the content usually.
A GREE !
Favorite car of mine too and a really cool cool dude thanks J for sharing
I THINK ROGAN HAS ONE WITH ALL MODERN PARTS
Great episode! The ending was hilarious.
Love josh !!!
LOL. Jay Leno, always a comedian.
Love the ending 😂
Being from Minot, we dont have exotics, but we have alot of classic American classic and muscle cars!
There is nothing in Minot except the Air Force base. Air Force people know NOT to want to go to Minot, at least I went to a warmer place, Holloman AFB NM.
I sold my Porsche when I moved to Minot, baught a CJ5. Not a bad switch...
@@w41duvernay I know alot of guys who come here and want to stay here. I also know alot of them who cant wait to leave too. its 50/50 really. The winters are tough but the local people (not oil field transplants) are good people.
Didn’t expect this, rewatched transformers last night lol
Hilarious ending. Well played.
I drove this car but in convertible. Knockoffs. 327 4 speed. Jaw dropping beautiful.
Pacing a senior bicycle race... hysterical!
People always want a old car until they actually drive it😂
OR HAVE TO MAINTAIN IT
My favorite car of all time.😊
My favorite Corvette
A bicycle race?! He flies into LA. Drives his dream car. And then paces a bicycle race? Too hilarious. LMAO
This car is the dream of all dreams!
Thank you Jay
You gave us a good laugh at the end.👍
The '63 Grand Sport Vette was The BADASS ON THE BLOCK.
American Motors, Chrysler, Dodge, DeSoto and Plymouth were considered the first American cars to feature Electronic Fuel Injection in 1958.
S Wylie , while Jay is quite knowledgeable about cars, he does spew fallacies routinely. 😂
It could be mechanical fuel injection, which had been around since the 30s in airplanes.
I was about to say that the 1957 Chevy 283 was Fuel Injected, but you specified "Electronic" FI..., the Chevy was mechanical. I was not aware that EFI was available that early.
AND I'm sure somebody in 1898 'patented' fuel injection. That doesn't mean it worked, or was viable. German gentleman 'invented' ICE and 'cars'. But they were expensive toys for the uberRich. Henry Ford invented the modern car.
Nuff said.
That stingray is beautiful.
jay is such a cool guy and josh offcourse to
The Legend of Jay!
Jay sez, "I'll get him a Spider Man car." Josh computes, shows consternation. Asks, "THE Spider Man car?"
Everyone knows that Jay has fabulous cars, has access to fabulous cars, and is wealthy beyond the dreams of avarice.
I'm with Josh. I thought he meant, THE SPIDER MAN CAR!
Jay sez, "no. The matchbox car." :-(
My brother-in-law's brother had one of these cars. He kept it through two divorces. One of them she wanted him to sell it and split the money with her, he refused. He sold that car at Barrett-Jackson Auction for $215,000, in 1999. Purchase price, 4000.
In 1967 I bought a 63 vette, 327 , factory air, aluminum knock offs for $ 2,700.
Very cool. Loved that one!
Josh looks like a badass in this car
Awesome car... Great guest interview. 👍
I would like to meet Jay Leno once he's a very nice guy and a great Car Guy
Did you notice the loose bolts on the headliner ?
& the hood sticking up in the back right, as you sit in the car.
Trim around split window's weren't sitting flush too ....
Beautiful car ,the only vette I really like ,just plain gourgeos!!!!! If I could ever afford one lol Thanks for the video Jay !!!!
Very nice car very rare I’ve only seen maybe one or two of them. Very funny
got to ride in one when i was in 7 th grade and i was hooked on muscle cars
Didn't see that ending coming🤣🤣🤣
Corvette stingray 2nd gen! 🇺🇲👍👍🤑😎
Love it! Too funny!
I love all Chevrolet's I have my Corvette sent's I was 16 years old and I show it at car show's it's a 1977 Corvette one year only and I am related to Louie Chevrolet
I wish they'd brought back Las Vegas for another season to tie up loose ends and not end it on a Cliffhanger. Also loved that "69 Camaro SS
Lmfao i actually drove by this whole weird sight... couldnt wait for the episode
I've seen Jay driving around several times in classic cars. It was always fun seeing him around the valley.
Chevrolet '57 models, 283ci engine with Rochester fuel injection produced a then-amazing 283 hp.
He didn't roll it over?? He's a barrel of laughs!
Uhm Jay, the 57 chevy belair was the first american car to have the fuel injection. But the corvette was chevy's second model to have the fuel injection
Pontiac in 57 had fuel injection option too
RPO-578 was available in any of the Chevrolet passenger cars. Did not have to be a Bel Air.
The first fuel injection car was in the 57 Corvette 283 ci.
Didn't have to be a Corvette. 150/210/Bel Air/Corvette. Could get an injected Nomad or station wagon, as well.
Is this from General Badassery? An old episode?
You'd be shocked how many great muscle cars are in Minot and North Dakota in general. What do you think farmers do all winter? Restore corvettes and other cool cars.
There's lots of muscle cars all over Minot and ND he made it sound like we are out of touch with fancy and fast cars.
Does anybody know, if that year had the metal spring steel leaf transverse mounted, or were they all always that fiberglass composite leaf spring?
It was a metal leaf spring.
@@markbunn8576 thank you... This just settled a dispute my two buddies have been having for a few years, if they were always composite fiber glass of it they started out with a spring steel leaf first... Again, thank you!
@@drubradley8821 Glad to help. I'm not sure when they went to a composite spring but I think it was around 1980.
All C2 Corvettes had steel rear springs.
You guys didn't trick me. When I heard that request to drive 200. I told myself that I would donate a kidney today if that actually happened.
Nice Cannondale
@@farquadmantis8486 Thank you!
Great video as always Mr. Leno. Need to tighten the screw on the roof above your head on the passenger side. It appears to be coming loose! Thanks as always for a great video
Wow a '63 fuelie. Beautiful car.
HOW MUCH DOES JAY SPEND FOR TIRES EACH YEAR. ALL THEM BIG TIRE CARS
Why not Minot??? Freezin's the reason......
fasteddie4145
-35... keeps the riffraff out
Jay. You are the man, but you made a mistake about fuel injection. Chrysler had electronic fuel injection in 1957. It worked poorly, most were converted to carburetor. Today, I believe a 57 Desoto owned by Tom White is the only one running today. That aside, this FI coupe is awesome.
Now that was funny ha!!!!
My cousins husband just past away from cancer.. Feb 2020. He has a white 63 split window corvette..
Its a beautiful car... She probably will sell it now.. Its in Loisville ky.. Comment back anyone interested.. Leno...
Probably a 100k car...
Hey my first manual right there
These cars looked a lot better than they actually drove. I was disappointed the first time that I drove one. My friend in High School had one back in the early 70's. Rough riding and hard to steer and stop.
bobdadruma Strange. The last time I drove a C2, it handled great. That was not even a year ago. Hm. So what is true?
I'd wager not many current owners of this generation Corvette do much driving. For those who do, an upgrade to more modern suspension, brakes and even the drivetrain is not uncommon. Automotive tech was pretty crude in 1963. My '64 Thunderbird weighed more than the Titanic and had drum brakes on all four corners. You planned your next stop by the calendar.
Starter teeth are ground up now!
The '63 Corvette
Epitome of classic design.
(Uhh, check for neutral before starting a stick shift - rookie mistake number one)
If they ever brought this 63 Vette back they wouldn't have enough of them on the showroom floors in North America.
Made that mistake as a young kid almost running over my dads motorcycle with his jeep. Lucky I didn't.
12mph is a good pace for bike. It's the sweet spot before wind drag, and twice walking speed(.I rode past a digital street sign at my normal pace). Both of those 'Vettes are nice, and I'd rather have the one I could work on,rather than a giant plastic computer.
The '63 Corvette was not the first Corvette with independent rear suspension. It appeared first on the '62 Corvette.
nope
isn’t this the guy from Transformers
Vansh Varu ya
And the former hit TV show Las Vegas. That camaro they were talking about is a beautiful car.
Funny stuff. May a pace car record.
Guess he gets a Lot of Folks Trying to flag him down W/ the New Camaro Trying to Catch a Cab !! Lol
Is it just me or is Josh looking more like young George Clooney? Let's see him in the next Batman!!!
👍ha ha ha great ending
1:41 anyone else get the feeling Josh knows something about Jay that Jay would rather keep secret?😂🤭
WHY NOT MINOT!
We were stationed at Minot AFB N.D. 1970-1973. No cool cars then lol!
what a disgustingly good looking fellow , i don t speak of jay and i am an old straight guy, i think :)))
The guy from "Vegas." I didn't recognize him at all!
"Las Vegas" Vegas was with Robert Urich, don't know if you remember him.
Nice to be filthy rich. Not hating! That's a great car!
Nice
Get the guy from the show called “ stingray”!!
Nick Mancuso
I drove nicole to the St regis.
🤣🤣🤣..how cruel Jay...a bicycle race...🤣🤣🤣
Good sports 😂 great cars both. Aw Jay give the four year old a car🤪
Jay says it's the first American car with available fuel injection. I thought the 1957 Belair was available with fuel injection?
Jay is senile.
@@supercooled LOL!
It was the first vet with fuel injection.
That was funny.
Bettee than the new Top Gear series.
how hot. OMG am SWEATING already
My dad had a 66 vette coupe
Head fake... lol y'all are a hoot
Ha they needed a pacemaker not a pace car. Ur funny jay
Off like a herd of turtles
Not exactly how folks drive in Minot
What car? I'm here for Josh and I noticed he has capped teeth and lots of stuff in his jeans front pockets 7:35
LMAO 😂 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
"I do know how to drive a clutch"
