I'm so sorry but I tried to preorder your book but I live in the UK and the cost of shipping was way more than the cost of your book. I really hope that you are able to bring out a kindle version so I can purchase that. Good luck with the success of your book xx
Donna - I live in W. Yorkshire and ordered The Miller Fam. book from America from Waterstones estimated for a 6 week delivery. Two days later they text me. It had arrived in my local Waterstones that morning for the normal price UK £17-99. You can try this if Amazon doesn't work for you. From another Brit. hope this helps. My way you may have to wait until the book is out.
One of my favourite memories from picking up my children from school was asking them ‘what was your favourite thing about today?’ That little sentence would open their minds to so much more and we would just talk and talk (I would also ask the same thing to all 4 of my children). One of my night time rules was ‘no phones at the table’. This would allow us to talk, laugh and sometimes even have a little silence if needed. I loved spending that little bit of quality time with my family. As far as your comment ‘it starts with YOU!’, you honestly couldn’t have phrased that any better. I grew up in a very mentally/emotionally abusive household, never even hearing the phrase ‘I love you’. I decided from a very early age that I would make some changes to how I raised my own children and I’m proud to say, I HAVE achieved that (my kids are now 15, 17, 19 & 25) & as much as we aren’t perfect, I am so proud of how we communicate even to this day.
My daughter is 24. My favorite part of the day was picking her up from daycare. We talked about her whole day. I knew who was mean or who got in trouble. I got all the details. Now as I drive home from work, I see so many families with movies going in their vehicles. Makes me sooooo sad to see. The car is a great place to communicate because you are together and no one can go anywhere.
Don't let it make you sad. Each family/person is different and others may have a different place where they can speak/open up. I was the kid who liked the peacefulness of the car...I could sit back and relax, read, wonder, daydream etc. But the dinner table was a different story...that is where I was most talkative about my day.
The thumbnail is hysterical 😄. Very excited to read the new book! ❤️ Somebody said to me once, "Talk to your kids the way you want to hear them talk to your grandkids."
I pre-ordered your book!!! I don't have kids yet but I will one day. Also, I know plenty of people with kids I can pass it on to, or maybe I'll order more if I really love it! So proud of you all, I've been subscribed since you had 33,000 ❤️ Solo has answered one of my questions in a Q & A before, Sara has replied to a few of my comments, and I received a signed Christmas Photo from you about 4 years ago that I still have. You all have poured into my life in so many ways So I'm happy to support you back and buy the book. Although I am doing no spend January, I am looking at buying the book as a "giving" gesture! Love you all ❤
I don't blame Solo for buying those shorts in the No Spend month. It ought to be a rule that if something unexpected comes up that you can save a $100 for now versa buying it full price in the spring/summer, then it's not a strike against that no spend month. A 100 bucks is alot of a savings on a brand name pair of shorts. Sarah you might want to pick another month for no spend. Too many sales during January. Lol
I am 63 and I still want to discuss all the things going on in my life with my Mom. If I had not had her giving me affirmations as I was raising my two kids, I am not sure I would have made it.
I love the no spend January! So many of us (obviously not those in poverty) get so used to our spending and blessings that we start to become numb to the little things. It's great to reset. Thanks for the reminders! ❤❤❤
Ordered! Can I just say that I'm so proud of you? Co-writing a book while running a large family is no easy task! I am breaking chains over here with my own family. I have a lot of days where I feel as though I'm failing, but then I hear one of my kids say, "so what was YOUR favorite part of the day?" And I think I must be doing something right. I tell them all the time that I make mistakes every day and that they will too but we WILL get through it all together and with the help of God. Thank you for being a light. It is NOT easy! ❤️
My kids are 27 and 25 and they have always been able to come to us with anything and they still do My son was in the army over in Afghanistan and Iraq and Kwuait and we talked alot about what happened over there and it really helps his mental health. Communication with your kids is the key
I taught parenting groups for years. I always taught that your words have meaning, and looking for positive reasons to affirm your kids is far more important than your criticism. Look for the little things. “ I love the way you combed your hair” or “ you are so helpful today,” or “ thanks for being a good listener today..I really appreciate your help.” Being the safest person in their lives is so important.
My 15 yr old son is the same. Can be sullen and hiding, but when he starts to hover around me, I know he wants to talk about something. Teen years are hard. But I know he is am angel and polite and respectful with other people, so I know we have done something right. And he knows that we are his safe space where he can lash out and know he is still loved
Thank You Papa and Sarah for your words of encouragement. Papa, you can turn it into a godly conversation as much as like😊 I look at every one of these videos. I find them to be very wholesome, uplifting, inspiring, a great tool to help in good parenting, and living a godly life. They are unique, unlike many other vloggers today who claim to be Christians. You are positive influencers indeed. God bless you all in your endeavors in Jesus Name.♥
My dad told me all the time I was his favorite till the end. I tell my kids still as adults they are my favorites. I have 2 kids, a boy and a girl. They are my favorite son and favorite daughter. They love it.
I’m so glad I was able to secure a copy of your book! Thumbs up! Can’t wait to read it and then send to my daughter to help her with raising a 5 year old and one year old while her husband is in the Navy and deployed for several months at a time. God bless y’all! Anxiously awaiting for the book to arrive!
Yay, I just pre ordered from Canada! You encouraged me to start in my generation with my kids. When growing up there was no communication whatsoever with my parents and now as I parent I struggle so much! Thank God there is my husband to balance things out a little. But it is my heart's desire to overcome this weakness in my own life and to be able to equip my children better. Thank you for this blessing. May you sell a ton and impact many generations to come. God bless you 🥰
I truly wish this book was available as I was growing up! As the only daughter with 4 brothers, life was not easy or fun! At 7, when my mom went to work, I became the chief cook and house cleaner…laundry, making beds, cleaning rooms..you name it, it was my job. I used to really resent this but now I’m Thankful because there isn’t anything I can’t to! I worked in aircraft manufacturing too! I’m very self reliant and have learned to self sooth when necessary. The belt was a popular tool with my dad! But I chose not to have children for a variety of reasons….
We are in!! No spend January is long overdue in this household. My husband is on board, we are off to a good start in these first 4 days Lolol! We are including in this eating as much as possible from our pantry/freezer which will help minimize the spending too. Thanks for the inspiration!!
*one thing more, my mother passed in 2021, and one of my most precious parts of her legacy is that she told us: I love you like the others don’t exist, and she told us all that. What a beautiful sentiment. None of us felt she favored the other. And I love praise in public, chastise in private. I have climbed a large slide to whisper in my child’s ear, at 3,4,5, I don’t want to embarrass you, and… it’s worked like a charm every time, whisper in public. And we stay connected. Look forward to getting your book!
OMGoodness !!!! You are so right !!! My son and I are just learning to talk. I’m 68 and he’s 37. He’s now calling me once a week as this is my Christmas present last year!!! I was asked “what do you want or need “” That’s what I NEED !!!! It’s perfect 👍!!! And we really got in a grove and it’s working !!! THE BEST EVER!!!! I can wait for your book !!! He needs to learn to talk to his own kids !!!
What great insight into family communication! My family listened to my school day every day that I went. What a gift-and they really were interested. How amazing!
Thank you for this!!! I love it. It's been just my daughter and I for the longest time and several months ago she moved about an hour away to her first "big" job. I miss her so much, but EVERY day/evening she calls or Facetimes to tell me about her day, her successes, her worries, etc. It's the best. She was homeschooled, too but those foundations are so, so important. Some evenings she's just says she's tired, she loves me, and goodnight, but it means everything. She is 25 now and she knows that no matter what, she can talk to me, and the reverse is true, too... esp. now that she's an adult. There were some tough times and your magnifying comment made me laugh because it's so, so true. But, thank you for this. My baby is grown but look forward to grands and maybe even doing fostercare again. I can't wait to get your book!
I just pre-ordered your book! As a foster parent, I need all the tips, tricks, help & advice I can get! God Bless your whole family for sharing your wisdom & guidance!
Happy Belated Birthday Luka 🎂🥳🎂 YES I cannot stress enough that taking to your kids when they are still young is important. My mother never had time or inclination to talk to me when I was growing up, and now she wonders why I don’t confide in her. Whenever I had a problem I either went to my grandmother, aunt or uncle.
I'm glad you made a book. I know a few that could use the book . Your such a great family. we love your channel, and glad to see Pappas involved with your book too.
It's a pleasure to see the conversation with your Dad, Sarah. You two have great communication skills are thank you for sharing your lived wisdom. I'm sure you're book will get "sold out" soon! (You are my favorite vlogers today!! 😘)
Hello Our Tribe of Many, have a belated New Years 2023 always, always love watching your videos. Happy birthday to Luka as well. I hope to hear from you all soon 🌈🦋🌺💖❤️😊😘🙏🏻from Edith in cairns Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
Great advice! I am very fortunate to have had a legacy of good parenting passed down through the generations. My grandfather was the last of 21 kids and my mom the last of 7. Many principles and morals you guys speak of...I naturally try to do from my own experience of being parented well. I think thats one of the reasons i enjoy your channels so much. Im gona order your book...im excited for it. And I 100% believe my Rosie was meant for me. It took many years for me to become a mom...and I prayed so fierce for her and finally at 45 God gave me Rosie. I made a promise to God to be the best parent I can be. 10 years later...im still working, growing and praying on this.
We started buying printer ink ahead of time when one morning my husband had trouble printing his sermon on a Sunday morning. I was glad I found that I had another ink cartridge that he didn’t see but that made a stressful Sunday morning.
'You dont want them to go to someone with different values...' That's the core reason why I established that communication with my now teen son at his earliest stage & now I have my 2nd child(9mths) ...I'm having to rattle my brain to remember the back then principles 😅
Sarah, I admire the relationship between you and the Papa!! I don't recall EVER having a meaningful discussion with either of my parents in my whole life. But I feel like I do with my own kids and even though they are all on their own now, I make a habit to have dinner, take a hike or just call each of them regularly. So hopefully it did start with me!!
One of my very favorite sayings, attributed to George Bernard Shaw, is "The single biggest problem with communication is the illusion that it has taken place." Love this!
We also failed. My mom passed New Years day so it's been very hard to not stop and grab something to eat out while making decisions and being stressed and not wanting to cook. We decided we will start this coming Monday and go one week into February so we get a full month in of no spending.
Hello Sarah and Papa, i enjoyed this and all your other videos. I just ordered the book and i can't wait to read it. All the best for your family in 2023.
That sounds so exciting. I have always wanted to write some books but have no clue how to have it published. I wrote a book about my one son's brain cancer battle to help other's. I wrote it on my computer, when I had one but it crashed. I've written some health articles for magazines but they took it and did what they wanted. If you can steer me in the direction of how to get a book published I'd appreciate it. As my son's dad walked out of our lives and I have to try to get some of my writings publish to help so we don't loose our home. Love your mom and dad. Your dad and you together are great. So much love and happiness exudes through your vlogs. Congratulations.
I'm sooooo excited. I just pre ordered your book. I love your chanel and enjoy all of your great parenting tips. I look forward to each new video. You have such a beautiful family. Lots of love from Newfoundland Canada.
Great Video! Thanks for sharing a update about the book, sometimes when someone else shares an idea you think WOW why didn’t I think of that. Have a great day.👍❤️
Just hearing the talk about the one chapter in the book I wish I had this when my first was born I have a 16 and 4 year old both girls and wow just things that you totally overlook because of being “busy” would have totally made things easier for challenging times with my oldest stuff working on the communication with her. You guys are awesome!
I am always smiling when you two get together to chat. What a wealth of knowledge! I try to be the Gma who always wants to ask and know how things are going with my grandkids.
Sarah, both you and your dad are great speakers. I am 70 years old and wish I had someone like you all to influence me but I will definitely be buying your book and will practice what you preach to my grandchildren. Maybe something I do or say to them will go forward in their lives to their families. Thank you so much for all you do.
I needed this. My husband always worries I ask my daughter too many questions about her day. It feels good to know it should keep our communication open as she grows up. I am always questioning my parenting and it means a lot to hear something I'm doing right.
I love that you are doing a no-spend month. This is the 14th year that I'm doing a no-spend January, and it's always amazing how much money I save. It really shows how much "extra" you buy every month!
What you and your dad said is so true, you guys hit the nail on the head about communication. I have openly communicated with my children since before they can talk. My 13-year-old daughter is a chatterbox and is always very engaging and ready to communicate. We always have great conversations, but my 15-year-old son is a little more reserved and more on the quiet side, but it's usually late at night when he comes and sits on the corner of my bed and just spills all. It's usually just him and I and I promise you, that is when we have the best conversations. We have even given that time a name, we call it our midnight monologues and I so enjoy them. When he opens up, it all spills out and we go from silly stories about his friends and things in school to very serious topics and I love it and I don't care what time it is, I'm ready. You guys keep up the good work and I pray that you all have an overflow of blessings in this new year.
This was so interesting and fun to watch. Learned some things I can change. Thank you. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU! 🎉 LOVE FROM MICHIGAN.❤️ Too funny, Papa grew up in east Detroit, I grew up in West Detroit.
Dear Papa and Sarah, thank you for the great inspirational conversation together!! Being a parent is hard, trying to make sure your doing the right things for your children, but listening to you two speak gave me so great things to think of. If you guys ever hang out again you guys should record a few more of these videos about parenting. Or ever chat about each chapter in the book. Listening to you guys talk about parenting helps more then you would know! Thank you so much💗God bless!! And best wishes on your new book!!
I love this. My struggle is my husband does not approach things like this and we don’t see things the same way with how to communicate with our children.
I’m excited about the book. I’ve never bought a parenting book before (we have five children, then eldest of whom is 15!) because I’ve always felt that many are written by people who haven’t had children, writing from a “professional” point of view. I’ve always felt their teachings are harsh on the children. I follow both of your channels and really feel the mutual love and respect between all members of the family and I can’t wait to read it! I pre-ordered it in December.
When I was homeschooling my daughter who is a teacher told me about HP Instant Ink subscription. I live in a rural area and it is not only more economical for me (I change the amount of pages/subscription with my needs) it is also so handy. Looking forward to reading the book.
What a wonderful conversation! My family called my sister and myself talk show hosts because we had questions! I did find that many people do not talk to their children. Blessings!
Loved this video! I have 4 kids ages 7 to 17 and when my teens want to talk I am ready and willing! I initially was not planning to order the book because I have a small collection of parenting books BUT this video changed my mind! I just love your family and I am so thankful that you both are listening and following Gods plan for your lives!
Good day, my daughter is 26 and I started communicating with her before she could even talk. She was a very quite individual growing up and well into her early adulthood. However, she has always been able to talk to me. Note: I sure there were and are things she doesn’t talk to me about but that’s what her good friends are for… I feel like you were talking about how I raised her. Makes me feel good. I don’t believe you ever stop parenting. We all (my siblings) still talk with our 87yr old mother about things. I also believe God wants parents and their kids to be successful productive individuals. I pray your book is a success. God bless you.
Thank you Sarah! I cannot wait to get my hands on your book - seeing you and “the Papa” advertise it is amazing! My family is also joining you on the no spend January - we have our freezer and pantry full, so hopefully we will make it! God bless you and your family! ✨
Our time to talk was in the car on the way home from school and when they got older we did a round table What happened in your day! Well we learnt many a thing from that🥴😃 and now with just 2 at home and they both work we say How was your day and it gives them an opening to say how there day was. Love your channel 👏
I was raised in a household that didn't communicate @ all. When my parents were mad, they yelled, and when they weren't mad, we didn't hear from them. I have totally flipped it with my kids. All lines of communication are open. When I am mad and can tell I am about to raise my voice, I tell them, "Let's take a breather and meet me back here in 20 minutes, and we will talk it through." Me, having all teenagers @ least every 2 weeks, I individually take them out to eat, and we have 1-on-1 time to really talk. My husband does the same, and we compare notes. I have 3 teenagers, so it's different in my house than yours, but a lot the same. You and your dad are EXACTLY right we can be the change!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love watching your channel, and all the tips and advice you give. You are a wonderful mother with a beautiful family. Thank you for bringing such light into the world!
We are doing a pantry and freezer challenge for the first time. Terrifying but exciting. Can't wait to see what we can save. I have a recipient in mind for the money we save. Great inspiration to help others and live without waste.
Thank you for discussing the book. Even though I'm an empty nester, I decided for my future grandchildren I want to understand healthy parenting principles better. Therefore, I bought the book!☺️ I appreciate you & your family sharing life & helping to influence & share positive messages even through life struggles! Thank you!
I'm so sorry but I tried to preorder your book but I live in the UK and the cost of shipping was way more than the cost of your book. I really hope that you are able to bring out a kindle version so I can purchase that. Good luck with the success of your book xx
Sorry about that. For international, it’s better to preorder through Amazon. Here is the link.

You know, Sarah and Solo, this is probably the best reason to sell the book as an E-Book, simple PDF or doc format.
I also am not in the United States - I was able to pre-order it on Amazon in a Kindle edition, so there will be no shipping fees.

Yes! I have found my teenagers will talk so much in the car.
Agreed! And you look busy so the attention isn't so intense they quit talking!

@@baileya6585 that makes total sense....thank you for that!
That is a great place to talk but it would happen much in my van....although they are having a great time talking to each other 😂

You both have some very good information and a lot of wisdom for raising kids. I hope to add your book to my library!
Thanks for ordering!

So thankful you ordered the book!
Sage advice. I try not to embarrass my kids in public. I also NEVER say “shame on you.” Shame is not something I want to cast on others.
OMGoodness !!!! You are so right !!!
My son and I are just learning to talk. I’m 68 and he’s 37.
He’s now calling me once a week as this is my Christmas present last year!!! I was asked “what do you want or need “”
That’s what I NEED !!!!
It’s perfect 👍!!! And we really got in a grove and it’s working !!!
THE BEST EVER!!!!
I can wait for your book !!!
He needs to learn to talk to his own kids !!!
I ordered my copy! I really love your parenting style. It shows through your children how such great parents you and Solo are.
Thanks for ordering our book!

You have inspired me to also do a no spend month, looking forward to how much I can save, hugs from Ohio!
Can’t wait to receive my book!!!
Awesome! Thanks for ordering.
Can't wait to read the book!!!
Thanks for ordering our book!
This book sounds like a great addition to my adult daughter's Easter basket. Participating in no spend January but will order on February 1.💖
I love the idea of making an Easter basket for an adult kid.
Thanks for ordering....in Feb!
I took the challenge and I your videos very much 😀
Happy Belated Birthday Luka 🎂🥳🎂
YES I cannot stress enough that taking to your kids when they are still young is important. My mother never had time or inclination to talk to me when I was growing up, and now she wonders why I don’t confide in her. Whenever I had a problem I either went to my grandmother, aunt or uncle.
Great advice, always love to hear from your dad, he’s great 😊
I'm glad you made a book. I know a few that could use the book . Your such a great family. we love your channel, and glad to see Pappas involved with your book too.
LOVE this talk with your dad... just pre ordered for my son & can't wait to give it to him & his wife who have 4 small children.
Awesome....thanks for ordering!
It's a pleasure to see the conversation with your Dad, Sarah. You two have great communication skills are thank you for sharing your lived wisdom. I'm sure you're book will get "sold out" soon! (You are my favorite vlogers today!! 😘)
Yes!! My favorite too!!
I pre ordered your book last month! Sending hugs prayers and kindness with lots of smiles ❤❤❤😊

I pre-ordered the book for my daughter. Her & her husband have 4 precious children and are homeschooling. Thank you Sarah!
Thanks so much for your order!

So glad you found our channel and enjoy it!
I preordered the book and can’t wait to read it! 🎉
I did a no spent December and it was wonderful.Already for Christmas this year yoo.
Yes....I'm sure it will!
You guys are full of good tips. Just placed my order!
One of my very favorite sayings, attributed to George Bernard Shaw, is "The single biggest problem with communication is the illusion that it has taken place." Love this!
Ha, that quote is actually the epigraph for the chapter on Communication. Great quote!!
@@OurTribeofMany Yes, I've sent it along to couples preparing to get married. (Great minds think alike, don't we?! 🙂)
I🤣🤣🤣🤣 Im copying this one!
We also failed. My mom passed New Years day so it's been very hard to not stop and grab something to eat out while making decisions and being stressed and not wanting to cook. We decided we will start this coming Monday and go one week into February so we get a full month in of no spending.
So sorry about your mom....Prayed for God's comfort for you and your family.
Thank you
Mom Rest In Peace 💜🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
So sorry about your Mom
Praying for you and your family 💕🌺💕
Prayers of comfort Rest in the Lord he heals the broken hearted... God be with you and give peace
Hello Sarah and Papa, i enjoyed this and all your other videos. I just ordered the book and i can't wait to read it. All the best for your family in 2023.
Thanks so much for ordering our book!
Thank you this parenting wisdom! I'm soaking it up.
A very valuable conversation for all families. Communication is the key for understanding everything Our Heavenly Father also!! Love and blessings
I pre-ordered last month via the Papa Channel. Can't wait to receive it!!
Awesome! Thanks for ordering.
Happy Birthday Luca 🎊🎉
Will get that 🚘 soon
God's blessings to the family 🙏 Happy New Year .
LOVE FROM MICHIGAN.❤️
Too funny, Papa grew up in east Detroit, I grew up in West Detroit.
That is definitely in our plans! Thanks for the encouragement.
I love this. My struggle is my husband does not approach things like this and we don’t see things the same way with how to communicate with our children.
Your husband does not dictate your communication style with your children. 🌼
Great encouragement.
Thankyou
I’m excited about the book. I’ve never bought a parenting book before (we have five children, then eldest of whom is 15!) because I’ve always felt that many are written by people who haven’t had children, writing from a “professional” point of view. I’ve always felt their teachings are harsh on the children. I follow both of your channels and really feel the mutual love and respect between all members of the family and I can’t wait to read it! I pre-ordered it in December.
Thanks so much for ordering in December!
💓Happpy New Year to your whole beautiful family!
Just ordered and so excited and thankful for all your faith & wisdom.
Thanks for ordering!
When I was homeschooling my daughter who is a teacher told me about HP Instant Ink subscription. I live in a rural area and it is not only more economical for me (I change the amount of pages/subscription with my needs) it is also so handy. Looking forward to reading the book.
Thanks for the info and for getting our book!
Good morning Mwania Family. Happy New Year!
What a blessing to have a book out there like this. I hope there's a chapter on ~mistakes~. 🥴
What a wonderful conversation! My family called my sister and myself talk show hosts because we had questions! I did find that many people do not talk to their children. Blessings!
Oh wow!!! Can’t wait to see the book! Congrats! ❤️
We are so excited!
I’m so excited Sarah and Papa!! I just preordered 🎉🎉🎉
Awe man you’re the best!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Sarah! I cannot wait to get my hands on your book - seeing you and “the Papa” advertise it is amazing! My family is also joining you on the no spend January - we have our freezer and pantry full, so hopefully we will make it!
God bless you and your family! ✨
Ordered! I am so excited to read your book, I self published too but didn’t preorder like this I love it!
So very true. God bless you both. I don't have children my daughter did when she was a baby but I want the book for me to learn stuff for myself.
Wonderful! Thanks for ordering the book!
Thank you so much!
Those teenagers really do require much more tlc. I felt alone on that so thank you for addressing this communication importance
We are doing a pantry and freezer challenge for the first time. Terrifying but exciting. Can't wait to see what we can save. I have a recipient in mind for the money we save. Great inspiration to help others and live without waste.
I could listen to this parenting chat all day!!
Thank you for discussing the book. Even though I'm an empty nester, I decided for my future grandchildren I want to understand healthy parenting principles better. Therefore, I bought the book!☺️ I appreciate you & your family sharing life & helping to influence & share positive messages even through life struggles! Thank you!
Looking forward to my shipment!!
Thanks for ordering!
I'm so excited to read your book!
I have always admired your perspective on parenting and am excited to apply the principles in my own life.
Thanks so much for ordering our book!
Great conversation about conversations! I don't even want to call it advice because it's so much more than that ❤️
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Luka🎉🎂. He could be a clothing model😊
I do same with my kids. Some times I have to watch that I don’t cross the lines. Lol. Great parenting you guys. ❤
