I miss season 1, it was just so simpler and a bit more fun then the rest. Plus, one of the more realistic seasons out of all of them. That and Lucas and Nathan going from enemies to real brothers was great.

But, I can see where others thinking that the show definitely wasn't as a good as the high school years. Yes, the main reason I wanted the extra seasons was to see Brooke finally get the boy and the baby.

Whatever the reason for Chad and Hil leaving - anyone else thing it was weird them not coming to weddings and births amongst their friends and family - they don't even Skype! And who turns up from Oz to take his niece and nephew home when his brother's been kidnapped and not stay locally!?! Weird!

that's not what happened at all, Hilarie did divorce her husband who used to work with the crew, but that's not what happened. Chad didn't want to renew his contract because he wanted to move on and work on other projects, in fact if I'm not mistaken a book of his came out this year. So what they did was, Chad and Hil talked things over and they decided they'd both leave so that the writers don't ruin Lucas&Peyton..because if only one of them left, the couple would have been ruined :)

In a realistic world, yes, family wouldn't lose touch. Unfortunately, this is a TV show, where money and on-set problems can ruin a good TV show, such as OTH. I also agree with the big plot-lines, but those drew in the viewers and it was a good way to show how a person could overcome those almost unrealistic obstacles.
It's still a wonderful series. Just skewed, last series, to lose people so much part of everyone's world. I don't think family - maybe friends can lost touch with distance - would disappear so completely. Nine seasons is enough - there are only so many dramatic events - kidnappings, high school shootings and murders - that a town can sustain before it starts looking unreal!! Once you go big with plot-lines, you can't then just go back to ordinary plots about breakups and bringing up kids.

I love the quirkiness of Brooke and Julian, and I'm glad that Brooke finally got the boy and babies in the end. Lol I feel the same way about Nathan. He's definitely aged well. He's my favorite guy on the show. One Tree Hill is my favorite TV show of all time, just edging out over The O.C. and Chuck. I'm glad you got hooked!

@bobobobo444411 I absolutely agree with you. To this day I'm still no sure why he flirted with Carrie when he had just gotten Haley back. I guess he liked the attention and wasn't getting enough from Haley, I'm not really sure. The one good thing we got out of that was that awesome shower scene with Nathan. Then Carrie had to go and ruin it.

I can not believe that this is the reason that we didn't get 3 more Seasons of Lucas and Peyton, because of some selfish producer. I really didn't like the show after they left even though I liked the characters. It just felt like something was missing and for me that was Lucas. Someones personal life should not mess with their business life. Bad Chose.

And Chad Michael Murray a close friend of hers said if u let her go u fire me too. So they said bye to both of them. The actors didn't want more money.

Maybe the Hilary Burton was true, but Chad Michael Murry left cos he wanted more money for what he was doing... and he wasn't getting it, its understandable as there was such a big crowd. For me Season 1 was the best and S2 but from then that's when it fell apart, and maybe I'm not a true fan for saying that but at least I'm being honest... after all they successful made it to season 9 which is good, right?

Season one is where basically the good people turn out to be bad and the bad people turn out to be good.

The show sould've ended with S4. I will always stand by that. S5 was the best post hs season, but S4 should've been the end.

In my opinion if the show ended then, it would've been more respected.
I liked season 7, but my favorite was season 3.
Your right it didn't work well without Lucas and Peyton but I also liked the rest of the show but it felt weird seeing other characters in the show.
