      And don’t forget the secondary poisoning of many other predators. Poison on rats is nearly totally unnecessary! We can’t remember the last time we needed to use it on rats. It’s also a horrible way for any animal to die!

    without setting the traps i use peanut ,butter, mixed with sunflower seeds and then i sprinkle powder cinnamon to realy get a scent out , i feed. them on the traps and then on a nice clear moonlit night a set 10 the traps , they are the victor spring rat traps i have 6 traps screwed to own to a 1x8 board the first night of the set i cought 3 rats the 2nd night 1 rat then two days nothing then the 5 night 1 rat , i now start the rotation over bailing them without setting them thy habitually start to think the trap is no harm then pow gotcha

    Had a mouse in my house... tried all kinds of different traps. I was dreaming about that mouse, I wanted it out so badly. It was pooping everywhere at night and could never seem to get him caught. THEN I got fed up a borrowed my girlfriend's cat

    • @zero_fkss8775
      @zero_fkss8775 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not true at all. There's cats that won't do a thing, some thay will befriend a mouse etc. My mother in-law had a cat and a dog, and she had several mice in her place. It's a myth that the smell of a cat or dog will deter mice. The reward of cat and dog food is greater than the risk, especially if food bowls are out all the time or your pets are messy eaters and leave bits of kibble on the floor. Mice even get inside of pet food containers that don't have a screw on lid like a vault type food storage container.
      So no, a cat is not a 100% resolution to a rodent problem.

    I suspect we've had rats under pur floors dor years. Now we have a disgusting smell in our house. The rats are not in the house itself but under the floors! I cannot explain the stench but it's a bit like sewage and gas. Anyone know if this is a rat smell?

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      If it smells like a sickly sweet smell but also like the smell of gas….that’s a dead rat.

    Wouldn't the rats' neophobia be less of a problem if the traps weren't placed so close to the burrow?
    I'd expect the rats to be more receptive to traps that are a decent distance away, sited along their runway(s).

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have to think about the filming as well as the rats. Hence the closeness of the traps.
      But also in this case it made no difference as the rats weren’t travelling far from the hole as the tracking dust showed us. We believe there had been garbage piled up there at some point in the past so the rats were just revisiting to see if the garbage had reappeared.

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No. We never do a loft sanitation unless we’ve got rid of the rats and therefore know the rats are gone for good, and if we quote to do it where someone else stopped the rats we leave non toxic monitoring bait down for some months before doing the job.
      There are many charlatans out there that will tell you a loft sanitation will stop rats….NO! But it will line their greedy pockets.

    I use regular Snap Traps and Glue Pads. But since it's getting cooler out, the Glue Traps Don't Stick as well anymore.. Snap Traps Do and Don't. They Do because I Lube the Latch with PB to make them more sensitive and Don't because they can still lick off the PB and Not Snap it.. Or they Snap it but are too Fast for it... Then Stuck/Wedged a Sunflower Seed under the teeth so they have to Tug on it and again, Hit or Miss... Got 2 at the same time one night. Only Heard One Snap but both Traps had a mouse.. Got 8 Mice this Past month.. have Not had them the past 6yrs but this year... Every night I hear them.. Had to put 6" aluminum at the Bottom of My Main Door because they Chewed a Hole in it.. They also come up threw the Bathroom Floor since there is A HUGE Hole Under my Camper that I can Not Block off because I can Not get Under there to it. Blocked off enough to keep the F'n Opossums out but not the mice..
    Ant Poison don't work on them. They LOVE it.. Toro/Tom Cat "Poison" Rat Pellets are like Crackers to them. Or they just don't eat them.. Flea Powder Mixed into PB Don't Work either.. Have a Dual Tone Mouse/Rat Repeller that Don't Do Shit.. They Sit on it and Clean themselves.. Waste of $40...
    Ramp up into a 5Gal Bucket with water and a Strip of aluminum with PB at the end so they Drop into the water because of their weight and they don't even bother to climb the ramp.. Have to have Back Ground Noise and Play Music just loud enough so I don't hear them at night just to get any sleep.
