A true all terrain bike....need a good trials or enduro bike. You went way farther than I would, especially alone. As I get older, I very seldom go off road myself. Keep safe.
Wow, that looks like a beat down from hell. I can’t believe you made it that far incredible. I think I would’ve parked the bike and walked up on top of the ridge and looked for an easier way if it was even possible to get up on the ridge with the bike. You definitely went through . It looked like rock crawling for Jeep. Thanks for the video I know we’re not to go lol.😊
That was a crazy trial D Rock. Hate off for making it for as you did, especially by your self. As always awesome video. Stay safe my friend. Ps, You made me tired, I'm setting on couch!😂
I always say a three letter word describes why I ride offroad. That being FUN! That trail does not meet my fun factor. But it sure was fun watching you!!! 🙂
I was totally saturated, surprised the sweat wasn't leaking from my helmet. Thankfully I've been able to adjust my protection to keep me cooler when riding in that particular terrain. Still ended up roasting.
Love this video. I admire your aggression riding alone. I too ride an xt alone on sketchy trails. Have to admit I would have taken that easy track on the way out you passed up. I also would probably got caught out. By the way, how’s your clutch?
That way out was some off shoot canyon heading up into who knows what, didn't want to get jammed up since I was losing light. Best option was to go back the way I came. Gnarly man. Clutch seems ok, worked it pretty good. Thanks for watching!!
The XT videos are my favorite. I see you use a air hawk on it. Thought you had a seat concepts on one of your bikes. Does the XT still have the stock seat?
Still the stock seat on the XT, since I generally ride the XT off road and do a lot of standing I haven't been too concerned about replacing the seat. Once I put the new rack system on my XT for moto camping then I'll have to deal with the seat. I'm thinking of going with the Corbin option when that time comes but man is that seat spendy. For now the Airhawk keeps it tolerable.
Route and scenery is great. I love this kind of riding. The wash just plain got nasty on you. Good call to RTB especially riding solo. Just an observation so don't take it the wrong way. I know your trying to avoid a pinch flat by running high tire psi but in all honesty you would be a lot better off with around 10 psi in each tire. Your not going fast enough to truely get a pincher.
I see you went with the Fox elbow/arm guards. That's what I ended up returning to. I tried the Fly soft armor. The Fly armor completely failed when I hit the dirt at 35mph. Got a wonderfully shredded arm because of it. The fox aren't perfect, but they've never failed me. Are you still liking that body armor?
I'm constantly researching and trying to figure out better methods for protection with the choices that are available. So far the Fox Titan elbow guards are doing the trick, they are pretty solid and also at a good price point. Once the weather warms I'm thinking of moving to one of the armored jerseys. We shall see..
Question for you. I’m on the fence on which bike to buy. The 300 L or the XT 250. Can you explain why you wouldn’t want the 300 L in that wash out? I’m assuming it’s the seat height but just curious. Thank you. Love the content.
Appreciate you watching! The Honda is just not cut out for enduro style riding, my opinion. The XT is smaller (more nimble and lighter) and is basically a tractor.
No. I had to go down and then back up a steep embankment, returning that way didn't seem feasible since I was by myself. Sometimes it's best to turn around. Thanks for watching!
Yeah there are a bunch of companies in the Las Vegas and Moab (Southern Utah) area that do specific trail riding and ADV riding classes. I have always wanted to take one but there are not as many offered up here in Southern Wisconsin.@@precipiceofgrind
Is the XT better than the CRF for this because of the seat height or the center of gravity? It’s not much lighter, doesn’t have as much ground clearance, power or torque.
@@precipiceofgrind that’s good to know. I’ve been looking at both for a smaller bike to practice off-road skills. The KLR is a bit much for that as muchas I love it.

Wow.. you made a good choice to turn around!! that looks ruff
Character builder..
That truly was the precipitice of grind. Well done. You're braver than me. Cheers
Thanks for watching!! This trip was indeed the Precipice Of Grind!

I'm still recovering from that ride...
Thanks for watching!!
More great XT content. The bike is simply a Swiss Army Knife. Keep up the good work, this was a very good video.
Appreciate you watching! Don't think my clutch enjoyed this ride. XT got me outta there though.

Yeah, I had a bit of a sinking feeling after I got the bike over the first dry fall. Went from fun to f*&k real quick. Appreciate you watching!
Great effort!
Brutal...... just brutal. Wow
Jee that was tough! You must have lost 10 pounds. 😮. I lost 2 pounds watching you and stressing out. 😅Thanks!

Geez dude, not even a pack mule would go through that creek bed. XT did good.
Yeah, got a little interesting back there. Glad I was on the XT! Thanks for watching!
omg xt250 is a monster =) in a good way
A hard ride in that creek bed , where have you got the camera mounted for the low front wheel shots ? 😎👌👍
Had it clamped to the frame.

Definitely not a KLR riding adventure trail for sure, ( lol ) I'm thinking more like a Yamaha TW 200...
🤘🏻 🌟 🤘
Would you have pushed on with the tw200? That is some crazy riding.
No. I had to go down and then back up a steep embankment, returning that way didn't seem feasible since I was by myself. Sometimes it's best to turn around. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, that was a crazy trail. Are you going to do any classes this year?@@precipiceofgrind
Classes?
Yeah there are a bunch of companies in the Las Vegas and Moab (Southern Utah) area that do specific trail riding and ADV riding classes. I have always wanted to take one but there are not as many offered up here in Southern Wisconsin.@@precipiceofgrind
Certainly wouldn't hurt..

Personally, I think the XT is much better at a ride such as this..better than the 300L anyway. Size, weight, and grunt.

I’m not much of an “air down” guy. Seems like that’s something some biker saw a jeep do and decided it was good for motorcycles too. Nope.
I'm leaning that way myself.
