Without stopping the farm all I did was switching to spruce saplings in my hotbar and voilà, the farm started to work with spruce saplings. So u gotta start with oak or birch saplings and switch to spruce saplings in hotbar. Hope this is helpful for some people, because i got stressed out a lot about not getting spruce wood out of this farm. edit: Don't forget to put the Building block above the block where u grow the sapling. Thank you so much for your comment. Mine only worked with oak for some reason but trying your method by simply switching the sapling type after starting with oak without turning the farm off in between absolutely works!!!
This is an excellent farm. If you're making it, it helps to think of it as seperate parts joined together. The TNT dispenser at the top is just on or off, and you can make it seperately on its own for any sort of farm like this. The top of that stack of alternating blocks and redstone torches is just either 'on' or 'off', so you can build the TNT dispenser on its own, with just a switch, to make sure you have it right. The bonemeal dispenser is another seperate part, and the pistons are a third part, with the water collection being redstone-free. I may move the switch for the bonemeal around so it's not dispensing until I get into postion. It's nice to build this near a bonemeal farm or a mob farm. You can also easily decorate this. If you have a drowned farm in your world, using copper block as the building blocks makes it look super fancy and industrial.
If you're using this on a multiplayer server that uses anything like Bukkit, Paper etc., make sure to change allow-headless-pistons to True in the server config! The farm will not duplicate the TNT without this.
im using 1.21.1 version and it was working fine in older version. when i flick the lever the tnt dont drop and the piston arent pushing trees and also the dispenser is full of bonemeal but not dispensing

Oak trees will break this farm when one of the large varieties grows. There is a slight problem with this farm where, at least with spruce trees, the leaves are crushed and the saplings are popped out of the farm completely. You could probably solve this with some hoppers arranged in a ~6 block radius of the farm, but that's A LOT of hoppers to have just to catch the saplings
Works on 1.20.4 guys! If it didn't work for you then you probably did it wrong. And don't skip the Stripped wood part. And also look out for the final part of the video if you are going to use oak sapling...
@@ertyge1 probably did something wrong. The first time I did it, I also did something wrong that's why it didn't work. For me it was that I didn't set a repeater to the correct tick amount. For you, this might be different...
For anyone Wondering the farm works perfectly in 1.20 but if u are playing on a paper/bukkit/purpur etc. It won't work if u don't change a setting in ur server's config
Information from original owner of the farm you have to remove the building block above the dirt where u put the sapling in order to get spruce from the farm This doesnt work in bedrock If Pistons doesnt push logs just try breaking the stipped logs and re placing it on the normal piston( in front of first sticky piston )at a block gap between sticky pistons and stripped logs hope this helps : )
@@Kayzo_07 did this work for you for other logs? bc if this work so for spruce you just need to destroy the block above the dirt where you put the sapling
To all the people that says it does not work it does. theres 1 little redstone that you have to remove, otherwise it wont work. This is awsome good job! (Also Regular Jungle Trees Work!!)
This wood farm is simply awesome! I built a different one on my and my friend's minecraft server and it worked pretty decently, but unfortunatley it did not work with oak wood and whenever i made it destroy oak trees the trees destroyed it and moved a bunch of blocks around... But this farm, on the contrary, doesn't and works well with oak wood! Love this tutorial, well explained, easy to follow! Thanks, Shulkercraft
if your farm is only pushing 3 blocks or spruce not working, then make sure you have that 7:17 redstone dust next to the redstone torch.... the glass near it broke and water spilled and breoke the 2 redstone... but i forgot about the dust. it took me 72 hours to just find that...
Nice farm. I built it with Quartz Bricks as solid blocks and they got blown away by the TNT. You need to use blocks with a higher explosion resistance like the smooth stone he used. At least for the blocks next to the TNT explosion.
I’ve used smooth stones at that part, still some of them gets blown away by the tnt. Also a bit of the dirt blown away on the bottom of the farm, like 4 blocks
Anyone having problems with the logs not being pushed: くまのこ wrote a comment somewhere here in Japanese and I translated it with google, he said you need to interact with the redstone next to the sapling and so I removed an replaced it and now it works perfectly for me! Though idk why 😅
I'm on 1.21.1 too, For some reason the rows of pistons and the wall in the back wont activate, so nothing moves it just grows one tree. I tripled checked the redstone but idk why it wont work
@@bigc327 Sorry man, the only issue i had was the tnt blew up once but i figured out on servers u need the enable setting, dont know much about anything else
Thanks for this. I would love to build it when I have the time. At the same time, one of the more frustrating things about videos like this is that I also want to know WHY it works the way that it does (mostly pertaining to the redstone mechanics). Having to watch the process of, now do this, now do this, is great for in-the-moment building, but it doesn't help me learn the concepts. The underlying concepts are what take this sort of thing from tedious, mysterious, and frustrating to natural and adaptable.
In a nutshell, this machine's mechanics reminds of a printer. So basically, what he build is a wood printer. You have bonemeal feeding contraption at the bottom back of the machine connected with rows of sticky pistons to the left and towards the right squeezing at the sides, so the trees do not grow side thick branches and for oak he puts a block on the top, to prevent from leaf block overgrowing the whole machine (if you do not put the stone block he mentiones at the end, the tree will overgrow the squeezing chamber with leafs, which might displace some of the pistons and crash your machine). And at the very top, you have a TNT duplicator which is perfectly timed with those 4 repeaters to ensure the TNT explodes at the right time to chip away some of the wood logs, which will fall into the water and the water streams taking the logs towards the chests. in addtion as the leafs get crushed, you get SOOOO many saplings in return (so you have an endless supply of them), sticks and apples if you use Oak. Very genious design, thank you
If spruce doesnt grow and oak and birch grow, check if the redstone is placed correctly nest to the pistons that push the tree. This also works if the pistons only push a 3 block high tree to the tnt.
Thanks I was completely dumb founded on what to do. After reading this I got a schematic of the tree farm and turns out I miss placed a piston. Thanks so much for your help😀
personally I had a problem with a piston. The first sticky piston of the double row of pistons was a block further on the left when it must be stuck to the first of the double row of double pistons
IF YOUR TNT DUPER ISN'T WORKING: It doesn't say it anywhere in the video, but the comparator needs to be in subtract mode. Just right click it once in order to get the clock to work properly. This worked for me at least, so I hope it helps you too!
Anyone having the problem with trees not being pushed, try to push the lever to open the farm door so the redstone behind it can light up and check if the redstone is placed correctly forming an x 😊
@@Cr7_theRealG0aI Check again may be the lever placed below the door broke due to water, place it again then it starts working. I also faced the same the problem
@@JonnyChoi77 theres no “more efficiency” or “less efficiency” when it comes to these stuff, it all comes down to the fact that it is nothing but you growing a tree and it getting blown up
I just built this farm in my survival server and it works great! Thank you for the clear tutorial and the video. I recommend building a wither skeleton farm to get all of the bones for bonemeal.
working in vanilla 1.21, i think they might have changed spruce models a bit so spruce saplings feel a bit more scarce, but you can fix that by using oak logs before you start with spruce so the leaves on top of the farm prevent the saplings for falling outside of the farm
I forgot to prevent the tall oak trees from being able to grow, and eventually one grew, which broke the farm, as some others have mentioned would happen. I fixed the water leakage and replaced the redstone and redstone torch, but the double pistons never pull the stripped logs back, meaning they always stay one block away from the piston instead of connected to it. Even when I break them and replace them next to the pistons, the same issue occurs as soon as I turn the farm on and place a sapling. I can't figure out how the pistons that are supposed to push and pull the stripped logs are supposed to be powered, since whenever I try to power them, only the pistons pushing the pistons get powered. My understanding is that the first pistons are supposed to push the other pistons forward, which breaks the leaves, and those pistons are supposed to push the stripped logs forward, which pushes the wood from the tree, but correct me if I'm wrong. If anyone has any ideas or tips, please let me know.
@@cryptrain1271 you have to place a block directly above the dirt block above the level of the stripped logs that push the tree forward. I did not do this at first and my farm broke too I had to rebuild parts of the piston walls and re do the water wall. I have a block there now which should prevent the bigger oaks from spawning.
If you dont want it to break when you put down oak saplings you need to put 1 block above the sapling on top of the farm 1 block higher than the stripped spruce
if u r reading this dont make this farm rather make ianxofour's versatile tree farm. It produces every single tree(except mangrove) including the nether trees and both the red and brown mushrooms. Its efficient productive and easy to build. Thanx for reading this far. Have a good day!

I have not tried it, but looking through the video, I would say 100% not. At 11:23 it shows sticky pistons pushing stick pistons, this only works in Java and not in Bedrock.
@@ysubanime3563Been there, done that, many, many times, thankfully I've learned the most common things you can do in Java that you cannot in Bedrock so always watch such a video in full before attempting a build.
Check out Ilmango for in-depth explanations about most redstone builds
This also works if the pistons only push a 3 block high tree to the tnt.
ive tried everything and nothing works. it can grow everywhere except the one spot its supposed to grow on
Thanks I was completely dumb founded on what to do. After reading this I got a schematic of the tree farm and turns out I miss placed a piston. Thanks so much for your help😀
personally I had a problem with a piston. The first sticky piston of the double row of pistons was a block further on the left when it must be stuck to the first of the double row of double pistons

working in vanilla 1.21, i think they might have changed spruce models a bit so spruce saplings feel a bit more scarce, but you can fix that by using oak logs before you start with spruce so the leaves on top of the farm prevent the saplings for falling outside of the farm
why mine dont work, the tnt duper part
for me the farm doesnt work with spruce saplings, u got any idea why?
@@simonsus2445 i think you try to use oak first then switch to spruce
