    Cant believe one of the greatest tribes in Africa that built the greatest ruins in southern africa, Great Zimbabwe fell apart so easily. Whoever cursed my tribe please forgive us. Even our history is watered down in the history books.

    I enjoy their rhythm. The dance seem to closer to setswana. chikalanga language has some similarities to Tshivenda. Vhavenda call their spirits through Vhakalanga. The event is called Malombo. They carry cow tails like Vakalanga. The dance close to that of Vakalanga is Malombo.

    Bakhalanga dance influence and heritage is very strong in South Africa, but it goes unnoticed because people don't know where it comes from.
    Firstly, Bapedi and most northern Sotho people have Khalanga origins. The words 'thobela' and 'tate' are Khalanga. Bapedi also affectionately greet each other as 'Bana ba tšie (šie) Khalaka', which loosely means 'children of Khalanga or children from Khalanga.' Of course Bapedi are a hybrid nation with other origins from Bakgatla, BaMmagwato, BaVhenda and Bakgalagadi. What a melting pot!
    Secondly, most sangoma dance in a Khalanga rhythm, including the waving of a cow's tail hair. They dance the Khalanga way because the ancestor who posses them have a lineage from east (' kha langa) Africa, which refers to the Great Lakes where Bakhalanga originate. Bapedi sangoma who dance' malopo' are doing it exactly the Khalanga way. Check Dr Ngaka Tšiane's sangoma initiates dancing, it is Khalanga complete which black 'skirts' and holding cow's tail hair.

      Is there a link between Karanga people from Masvingo and Kalanga people.Kalanga sounds like a dialect of the Shona.Its easier for us the shona to have a conv.o with the Kalangas.

    • @BukalangaTv

      Karanga are Kalanga. Eg when a ndebele person settle in Masvingo they will mispronounce and say ndebere because shona people often use R instead of L. Which is exactly what transpired for you to be called Karanga instead of Kalanga

      @RoTsAtCo KhTsGa people that are related to Bapedi from Zim are Kalanga, Lubedu and Lozi people but Bapedi are related to Basotho and Batswana. Bapedi ain't Shona

    • @odisolveki7286
      @odisolveki7286 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because Bapedi (not MaPedi) have Khalanga blood and heritage in them. That is why they sometimes refer to each other as 'Bana ba tšie (tšwa) Kgalaka'. Which loosely means 'the children from Khalanga'.
      Bapedi use Khalanga words like 'thobela', and 'tate. I think the word 'matšoba / matjoba (flowers) is also Khalanga language.
      Of course Bapedi are a hybrid nation. We come from Bakhalanga, Bakgatla, BaMmagwato, Bakgalagadi, BaVhenda etc.
