Use white vinegar in a large freezer bag with the head attached. Use a sturdy rubber band to secure it on the pipe. Worked perfectly and environmental friendly
I’ll have to try this. My friend has a rain showerhead, which I hate! I once tried putting vinegar in a garbage bag to hang on the showerhead. But I’m too short (even with a stepladder) and not strong enough to tie the bag around the showerhead. I’ll try a freezer bag. Thank you!
Thank You so much, the water in my area of the UK is disgusting, constantly have black blobs hanging from those showerhead holes, I literally have to clean mine every month or so! I normally only clean the outside but following your advice it`s now soaking in a bowl to clean the inside, dread to think what it`s like 🤢
Thanks for this - on the variable head flow heads there must be a way to take out the disc with the holes in it to clean it? Is there a way? We have Trevi heads and there must surely be a way to take them apart?
All good except...instead of buying expensive limescale remover, just put the shower head in a small skillet (just bigger than the shower head) and pour some vinegar down the shower head inlet until the shower head is covered. Let it sit for 12-14 hours and rinse.
Have you ever taken one of these apart. It is disgusting inside, black with something, mold? Have you ever purchased one that can be dismantled for cleaning?
It really depends on your type of shower head. If possible you should check with the manufacturer if it’s still under warranty or if they sell any spare parts online. Thanks 🙏🏻
For best results found that a dental tepe is good for cleaning inside the nipple. Time consuming depending on how big your rain showerhead is!!! Good video, not sure about the end demo result though, water shooting off in all directions 😁
For those who’ve never heard of “dental tepe”, it’s a company that sells dental supplies for those of us who have, among other things, implants. Their prices are amazing, btw.
Mines above a bath and very high pretty much 1inch from ceiling (rental property) so I had to put steppladder at side of bath and stand like that to unscrew it but did it with hands only, have a towel to hand as water does drain from it once you tilt the head.
What happened to the lovely simple idea on the boxes we buy these things in ??? That we can simply rub our fingers on the rubber teats and 'all is done' ??? F*** rubbish .. bring back the screw off back of the shower head !! White vinegar works but it takes a while !!
kay, I call foul! If the shower head is sitting doing nothing, your not gonna have all the junk around the sink, its still gonna be in the head. There was no little fairy in the sink with a brush scrubbing the inside of the shower head with enough force to get junk to the outside.
Well if there’s no above (loft/attic) access it must have been installed from below so in theory should be able to be uninstalled from below. The trouble is there are so many different versions on the market all with different installation methods and it may take a lot of effort to take it down. Some have retaining screws, some have springs that you pull down and release, I can’t possibly cover each product. I really hope that you are able to sort out your problem. 🙏🏻
@@lesterbathrooms3948 Thanks for the reply and help comrade. I'll be careful to look for ease of access of the product. Because it is certain that at one point the holes will clog with limestone. Cheers mate
I just did exactly what this video said to do and it worked phenomenally well. Thank you so much for this great video!

You’re welcome ☺️ we live in a hard water area too. 👍🏻

I have to say you had me at the nipple joke and I was a tiny bit heartbroken upon seeing the wedding ring. Thanks for the fun and informative video
Thanks a tons 🙏🏻👏👏
I personally implemented this technique and results is outstanding ✌🏻now my shower head is dancing and singing 🚿
Absolute pleasure Shital 🙏🏻
Nice and simple. Great video. Will use this method soon!!
Thank you Dave 🙏🏻
Shower head doesn’t have any grip points it’s completely smooth, any tips how to get it off?
Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!! Your channel is sooo underrated!
You’re welcome 😊
It can be soaked less than 24 hours?
Yes, just depends how badly it’s limescale.
Would it be ok to use a descaling powder rather than the spray products?
I would of thought that would be ok to soak it in that. Worth a try. 👍🏻
Soaking in white vinegar is also an easy/cheap way to descale shower heads
Nah because then he coudlnt try to sell you something lol.
The black rubber seal has wire mesh. It is ok to have just the black rubber seal Without the wire mesh? Reason for better water flow rate. Tks
Very helpful, thank you
Great thankyou i will try that today 🤩
Amazing..Really helpful

Great video! I learned a lot. Thanks a million!
Absolute pleasure Barry.
if the nozzels fell away,,are they replacable,?? any links? and how to reinstall?

I use 1/2 lemon to clean

I can’t take mine down as I don’t have anyone to help me. Any ideas?
Put the cleaning products in a bag and using an elastic band secure the bag on the shower head.

Funny stuff and useful.
I did this and it’s still blocked. All the rest of the limescale has come loose inside and it blocking it up again
use water filter
Top man
24h stuff was good
Wow thanks. Helpful. But f it! New shower head!
Just rubbing it with myfinger remove that wrong trajectory mini spout. Thanks.
It's not right, you can see jets of water going sideways. Fail...
my shower head ( new one ) pop split
I've tried every cleaner on market nothing works
I just go buy another shower head
😊

Or you can just install a water softener

It’s one of TH-cam’s great scandals! You got me!! 😂😂
It foams and bubbles. If it is foaming or bubbling the stuff is moving.
@@ElCid70 - maybe, but read what I wrote "with enough force to get junk to the outside". Bubbles alone will not do that!!
Not all shower heads can be removed…
Excellent! 😂
@@lesterbathrooms3948 what about the modern square rainfall ones in the ceiling. Is it possible to clean and maintain them? Cheers
