Similar to a cell phone that has a SIM card, when you buy a new phone, you can simply insert the old SIM card and retain all your old information while having upgraded to a new platform of cell phone.
This way if your robot ever got damaged, you could simply use the old SIM card or old internal files that it generated, and you wouldn't have to go through the teaching process all over again. You could get a replacement robot and still have everything the old or damaged robot had learned to do say or act.
