Nancy Drew did carry a gun in the 1930s, they cut that part out in later editions in the 1960s. The 60s editions tried to make Nancy more polite and demure. Editors also cut out the racism in the early books by removing anyone who wasn't white.

The devil was pretty useless as far as premonitions go, too, I mean it's pretty obvious at this point in the game that Nick is definitely going to turn at some point.
It's truly so on the nose that you just kind of overlook it. Instead of thinking "What does this mean" you hear it so much you just start thinking "LOL they said it again"
I have watched two other playthrough of this game and I never thought to think of it like that. I just thought it was if you survive the night you would become stronger and that was it.
it's interesting seeing where they cut a bunch of corners in terms of animating scenes. Last episode, kaitlyn walks in on dylan and ryan and there's a long silence, after which the boys are outside and dylan gives ryan his gun. This is because you can argue the gun as dylan and make ryan give up his, and are still arguing when Kaitlyn arrives. So they just use the same shot of dylan giving up his gun afterwards. Same here where kaitlyn loses her gun, if you just get seen right away, that happens. That's why she goes from having the gun slung, to drawn and pointed at the guy between camera shots, despite it making no sense. Not imersion breaking or anything, just something I've noticed after watching a couple playthroughs.
Simon’s right - there should logically be something else I mean Until Dawn was Wendigos and Saw Traps, the Man of Medan was hallucinogenic gas and pirates, Little Hope was witches and the guy being mad, and House of Ashes was vampires and the opposing army, so there should be another threat; werewolves and circus freaks?

Judging by a video I watched about the effectiveness of vaccines in the case of the arm being removed shortly after vaccination; the circulation would have gotten it to the heart at that point. No way cutting off the hand by the wrist did anything by any kind of realistic standards.

But yes, the principle is that your blood flows halfway around your body every heartbeat. With a hypodermic needle, it's injecting it deep within your tissue, almost straight into your bloodstream, and leaves a tiny wound that stops bleeding within seconds. That's very different from a bite where the flesh has been torn apart and immediately starts bleeding everywhere, which does actually help stop infection by pushing out any foreign objects, bacteria or viruses. The thing I'm wondering is how much of the "infection" do you need to stop getting into your system? With rabies if you clean out the wound immediately with soap, water and iodine based disinfectants you drastically reduce your chances of getting ill at all, mostly because of reducing the chance of any virus in the wound getting into your bloodstream. Same principle here but with a much more... practical method of removing the source of infection because it's a game and has to have that "all or nothing" feel.
I know its all for drama building but I feel like all these games have such manufactured hurdles in the story. Like if the big hunter guy actually spoke words more then they would all be safe by now...
Or if he just approached them at the campfire at the start, told them there's a bunch of rabid wolves/bears/whatever out there, and they have to get inside this instant, and lock up while the hunters track it down and kill it/them, complementary blood drenching included.
These horror movies with their silent-but-good scary looking dudes menacingly appearing in the most tense of times. Just fuckin' communicate. All of these movies and tropes break down if people just converse; if Bobby said "Wait, we're not going to hurt you, we're here to help. You need the blood on you to keep the werewolves away." the night ends without incident and they go home. I guess stupidity and inconsistency drive horror plots. Also: ever just walk into a room looking for something, have a cursory glance at a quarter of the area, say to yourself "must not be here" and never return? Yeah...
I've seen another playthrough of the game and i'll say that Bobby being the way he is actually has a story reason, not just to be used as a suspense tool

The chemistry between them is awesome too watch. Sinking city, and call of Cthulhu are definitely some of their best work. Honestly, anything with the Riddle Bros is quality. Honourable mention to Quiz time as well, some of those episodes were bangers.

Having to choose which tarot card foreshadowing you see feels like a weird mechanic (unless there's only one vision/chapter and the choice doesn't matter) since it means that once you find one card you're kinda discouraged from exploring more. With a tourniquet people survive their limbs being blown/torn off, so it's not far from disbelief with a hand cut off at the wrist. Bandage probs won't do it alone, but things stop bleeding pretty fast if it's not a major blood vessel and they did immediately put pressure on it. I'd say it's believable, barely. And it's pretty clear from the get go when hunter man blew his hand off that unless you amputate immediately, you're gonna turn into a werewolf if you're bitten by one. It follows that out of the two bitten so far (Nick and Abigail), Nick was bitten worse and so the infection would spread more quickly, that and the fact that it's her that gets beheaded if you fuck up, very much indicates that Nick will turn very soon and kill her unless you do something to stop that from happening.
It’s weird how this guy is so insistent of amputation without knowing what it actually is. Like originally they thought a bear had attacked the two and he wanted to amputate his leg for some reason? Can’t tell if this is suspicious or not
I mean he immediately saw black shit pulsing up the guys leg when they got him to the fire pit, my first thought upon seeing that would be amputate too(because I know this is a horror game), but he's also lost a lot of blood and it's not his only bite so he's done for anyway.
Kinda feels like they tried to make this a successor to until dawn but it doesn't have nearly the same amount of polish imo. Especially in terms of the sceneplay and specifically positioning of people in a scene which leads to janky animations and questions of "what, why and how the fuck just happened?" a ridiculous amount. It's also showing in the stuttering that plagues this, though I bet it'll be better on PC.
Really pleased with how interesting this game is. It is still janky but i'm really enjoying it and with the riddle bros, it only adds to the excellence

Sure they got it wrong a few times because it's a survival horror genre and you've got to have people making dumb decisions, but they got it mostly right. Here it seems rushed and ill thought through which is a shame because I think with a decent bit more work this could've shone. They really need to slow down their development cycle as a company imo.

Bro Stumpotron 5000 just running around like nothing happened has me giggling. Either shock is a lot stronger than I thought or he is taking it like a champ(and also not bleeding out with nothing stopping it?) Overall though this is the best one yet, the story is fun, the characters are a lot more real feeling and the jokes are funny.
Feel like the story and character motivations don't make any sense in this game, and a lot of the plot is just driven by people not disclosing vital information that any sane person would mention, seems very ham fisted, forcing situations etc. Still don't get why they are afraid of the hunter who is looking for them, especially considering they know from the original attack that the creature was shot by a hunter, saving them. Therefore would make sense if the hunter was looking for them to help them, and they need and are looking for help. I guess we are just supposed to assume because the guy looks like a typical hillbilly, that the logical conclusion is he is bad? And then to add to the weirdness as soon as they see some woman with an eye patch running around shooting things in the dark (when they know hunters are closing in on them, hunters they for some reason are scared of) they are happy to run to her... But perhaps I am overthinking it, luckily we have Tom and Chauncey to bring the real entertainment.
He does look very threatening, big, not wearing much clothing for some reason, blood on his face, carrying a gun. Tried to drag one of them away, captured Jacob in a trap and poured blood on his face. I mean especially after that one it should be clear he's not trying to kill you but it's still possibly threatening. People don't want blood poured on their face normally. Maybe it's infecting blood. But yeah it does definitely seem normal to figure out that they're good before the characters do. I watched RTGame play this first, and he thought they were bad for a while at least.

Yeah in the other playthroughs I’ve watched, they also instantly picked up on the hunters not being bad guys. I think it’s because they play the werewolf card way too early. In this game you instantly know what’s actually attacking them, so there’s never any perceived threat from the hunters.

I think the body in the pool was supposed to be Jacob. The idiot who ran off to find Emma. He never put clothes back. But, the game provided no explanation as to where the fuck he has been, nor did they show his face. So it could have also been a werewolf, I feel like it's intentionally vague.
I feel like the other characters are meant to think it's Jacob but turns out it isn't and they bump into him later maybe? But Jacob is so forgettable that little scene really doesn't hit.

Kinda feels like they tried to make this a successor to until dawn but it doesn't have nearly the same amount of polish imo. Especially in terms of the sceneplay and specifically positioning of people in a scene which leads to janky animations and questions of "what, why and how the fuck just happened?" a ridiculous amount. It's also showing in the stuttering that plagues this, though I bet it'll be better on PC.
Really pleased with how interesting this game is. It is still janky but i'm really enjoying it and with the riddle bros, it only adds to the excellence

@@treemeister2616 I guess they are all teenagers (18-19?), so I suppose one could argue its in their nature. At the same time, there are times where the characters make decisions that are utterly stupid or suicidal.
@@KaaxItzam No...teens aged 18-19 overshare if anything. And when we consider the fact that the absolute worst for their poor communication isn't a teen, then it makes even less sense. Characters in the game just believe communication isn't very important (until their reason for communication is entirely gone).

@@treemeister2616 Until Dawn clearly had someone or someone's going "what are the most logical decisions for the characters to be making here?" before making the game. Sure they got it wrong a few times because it's a survival horror genre and you've got to have people making dumb decisions, but they got it mostly right. Here it seems rushed and ill thought through which is a shame because I think with a decent bit more work this could've shone. They really need to slow down their development cycle as a company imo.

Feel like the story and character motivations don't make any sense in this game, and a lot of the plot is just driven by people not disclosing vital information that any sane person would mention, seems very ham fisted, forcing situations etc.
Still don't get why they are afraid of the hunter who is looking for them, especially considering they know from the original attack that the creature was shot by a hunter, saving them. Therefore would make sense if the hunter was looking for them to help them, and they need and are looking for help.
I guess we are just supposed to assume because the guy looks like a typical hillbilly, that the logical conclusion is he is bad? And then to add to the weirdness as soon as they see some woman with an eye patch running around shooting things in the dark (when they know hunters are closing in on them, hunters they for some reason are scared of) they are happy to run to her...
But perhaps I am overthinking it, luckily we have Tom and Chauncey to bring the real entertainment.
He does look very threatening, big, not wearing much clothing for some reason, blood on his face, carrying a gun. Tried to drag one of them away, captured Jacob in a trap and poured blood on his face. I mean especially after that one it should be clear he's not trying to kill you but it's still possibly threatening. People don't want blood poured on their face normally. Maybe it's infecting blood.
But yeah it does definitely seem normal to figure out that they're good before the characters do. I watched RTGame play this first, and he thought they were bad for a while at least.
Yep. It's an anti-rural trope. Country people evil, city people good. But it will turn out that country people good, city people stupid as it always does.

@@orangesilver8 I think one of the reasons it doesn't work is that they already did the "scary guy turns out to be a good guy hunting the monsters" in Until Dawn.
Yeah in the other playthroughs I’ve watched, they also instantly picked up on the hunters not being bad guys. I think it’s because they play the werewolf card way too early. In this game you instantly know what’s actually attacking them, so there’s never any perceived threat from the hunters.
Aww. I wanted them to not cut his hand off. Everyone I've seen cuts his hand off, probably because of the card, I'd kinda like to see Dylan keep his hand though, I'm sure that Dylan turning into a werewolf wouldn't come back to bite them in any way.

I think the body in the pool was supposed to be Jacob. The idiot who ran off to find Emma. He never put clothes back. But, the game provided no explanation as to where the fuck he has been, nor did they show his face. So it could have also been a werewolf, I feel like it's intentionally vague.
I feel like the other characters are meant to think it's Jacob but turns out it isn't and they bump into him later maybe? But Jacob is so forgettable that little scene really doesn't hit.
