  • Selected teachings and quotes from Tsokknyi Rinpoche from the text "Open Heart, Open Mind."
    Tsoknyi Rinpoche or Ngawang Tsoknyi Gyatso (born 13 March 1966) is a Nepalese Tibetan Buddhist teacher and author, and the founder of the Pundarika Foundation. He is considered to be the third in a line of reincarnate lamas, the first of whom was a lama in Eastern Tibet in the last century. The first Tsoknyi Rinpoche was known for perseverance and effort in his meditation practice, and he also founded a large nunnery. The son of one of the most renowned Dzogchen masters of this century, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, the current Tsoknyi Rinpoche was recognized at age eight by His Holiness Karmapa. At age thirteen he began twelve years of very intense formal training.

    How powerful is this moment of hearing a neutral voice that points to our empty essence, at times obscured by the marks of existence. Freedom feels elusive as the fierce ego wrestles with our holy longing to Be alert stillness. I am moved again by this sangha community, and I bow with love to this service of love.

    Tsoknyi Rinpoche shared an old Mahamudra saying:
    “Sentient beings are not enlightened because they don’t meditate.
    Yogis are not enlightened because they do.”

    • @youarewhatyourelookingfor4496
      @youarewhatyourelookingfor4496 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What does that mean to you?
      I don’t recall who planted this one on me but I’d heard once:
      “There are no enlightened beings, there is just enlightened activity.”
      Seems along the same line.

    Thank you!! This is so beautiful. I have been listening to a recording of a retreat Tsoknyi Rinpoche led in 2019 that he has posted online. He has a real gift for presenting such complicated teachings with simplicity, yet profundity - and much love and gentle humor. His younger brother, Mingyur Rinpoche is also a delightful teacher.

    Dear Samaneri, this is the conclusion I got to. All is an expression of love and there is nothing other than love. Pain and suffering are love yet they can't be experienced as such unless their source is forgotten. I believe we suffer because we have forgotten all is love and love does nothing but give and extend outwards. What a beautiful universe we live in, we choose to fear and hate so we experience a fearful world yet when we choose to love we experience love everywhere ♡

    Thank you so much for nice words. Today when I meditated, there is an ad in middle of this video, is it TH-cam randomly added?

    • @SamaneriJayasara
      @SamaneriJayasara  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, I used a little bit of copyrighted music in this video so YT plays ads to collect revenue for the record company and this music is obviously in the middle of this amazing teaching! Sorry about that. There are many ways to overcome this. On your end, you can simply install an adblocker on your device (search Google for them - many are free); change your browser to "Brave browser" - it blocks all ads on all sites; join YT premium and avoid all ads on YT.
      The other easy option is to listen to my recordings (and download if you wish) either on my Google Drive or the many Podcast platforms. You can find links to all of these in the top right hand corner from my Home page on my You Tube channel. Hope you can find some good options. The ads will only appear on those readings where the music is copyrighted and I am trying to avoid this now as much as possible. Warm regards

      @@SamaneriJayasara hi thank you very much. I have no probelm you take ads, just thought it would be less shock if ads are in the beginning or/and the end. Thanks for tips and effort to release in many platforms.

      @SamaneriJayasara  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I have no control over ads appearing or where they appear. I actually never knew they even would when I started this thing. I am trying to prevent them at all by using non- copyright music where I can. EnJOY

    These thoughts are wonderful and deeply true, unfortunately I have never seen them applied in reality, not in any authentic or sustained way. I believe this material realm is wholly evil and that the only reasonable course is to endeavor for release in Nirvana, alone.
