Man you nailed it with this video Nathan! Way to explain lighting in a clear, concise and interesting manner. So much information in such a short video. Nice job!
Great job and explanation about V-Flat placement and light not being able to "pass through" the subject...had not thought about it being said this way-perfect! Thanks for all you provide us with and LOVE that HUGE studio! One day...one day!! ;-)
Hey Nathan, welcome back! It's been great seeing these "How I Got The Shot" videos again!! Really nice details on this one about the V-Flats. I do mostly headshots, but like Huie D. said, I'm loving your studio... I barely even have room for v-flats at the moment.
I love the one light set ups. Currently trying to find a good solution to take nice looking portraits in my apartment. I have a v860ii but I’m thinking of upgrading to an ad400pro with a large umbrella
This was a great video. Sometimes all you need is one light to make a great image. If you know how to shape and modify your image by adding in fill or negative fill, you definitely know what you're doing. Great work!
Amazin Video again Nathan! I will try this one light setup next time im in a studio. Did i missed it in the last videos or are the nikon lenses new? You used sigmas before, right?
@@NathanElson I have the Nikon Z7 and had Sigma Art lenses but I switched to the Z lenses in January and I see so much better results without the ftz adapter:) what’s your opinion on the Z lenses instead of sigma + ftz adapter?
Great work. I really love the one light setup. It's refreshing compared to other youtubers where it's all about "look at that 12K of lighting I used for this portrait" videos. Keep them coming. I love the simple setup + mastery and experience combined.
BRO. GOOD VIDEOS. YOU HAVE TO STAND IN A NICER POSITION WHILE SHOOTING. YOU LOOK PRETY CROCKED. I WILL FIX YOU UP. SEE MACNALLY STANDING POSITION. VERY ELEGANT. CESAR FROM VENEZUELA. REPLY PLEASE
You really need to stand better. Look at yourself or ask a friend. You can throw me a free LT presets. I deserve. Jajajaaja. I usually dont bother. You deserve a chance
Short and to the point, especially the little details about how to use the v-flat. Thanks again for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!
Again a short and very useful bts. I think this format helps a lot the idea you present. Thank you Nathan.
Glad to hear it! I appreciate you taking the time to check it out.

Good tutorial. Excellent portraits of a beautiful lady. The video production was every bit as good as we have come to expect. Thank you.
Thanks Edward!
Amazing as always! Thank you so much Nathan and good luck man!

Thanks Tom! To be fair, I never started with a giant studio either, but if you want it, one day it'll happen :)

I switched to the Nikon Z series camera so I am using the 85mm f/1.8 Z lens now :)

Great video - and as I shoot with the Z6II and the 85 f/1.8 too, I feel I'm just a small step away from creating the same images 🙏🏻👏🏼
Awesome. It’s a great little piece of kit for sure.
Great work.
