Six months ago I bought this system on sale at Amazon and have been VERY happy with it. The water tastes great! I love that the light reminds me it's time to change a filter. The filters can be bought individually or in an annual pack with 2 CF's and one CB for a reasonable price (the third filter only needs to be changed every two years). I can easily order and change the filters myself. Highly recommend. Thank you for the review, Test of Time, and the demo on how to change a filter. I love how you involve your son in the video -- you are wonderful in how to speak to him, guide him -- good dad.
I just installed the G3 yesterday, replacing a 10 year old Whirlpool WHERE25, 3 filter tank system. The tank system was quicker for the first couple of cups of water, about 500 ml, but then would slow. It had a 1 good to 4 waste ratio and the G3 should waste 1/4 of the tank system. This system just keeps going and is faster for me than the tank when filling a coffee pot or several glasses of water at once. I have chlorinated city water and the filtered water from the tank system always tasted good. The G3 is showing a TDS of 010 and is the most tasteless water that I've ever recalled drinking. I might add the post mineral water filter, to add some minerals back to the water. I found another bonus was that water in the tank would warm and the G3 water is much colder. I found that the faucet with the G3 seems nicer than the older system. I did find that the faucet was made for a one inch hole and is much smaller than the the predrilled hole in the sink. The faucet was maybe 1/8" larger in diameter than the hole and I was still able to lock it down, but I will have to order a deck plate online to make a nicer, more secure fit. Thanks for your review. I watched reviews on several system before picking this one.
I bought around 2 months ago, TDS stays around 002. I haven't drank this much water since I was a kid. We give it to our dogs and also use for hydroponics. Great taste. Takes around 15 mins to fill a 18.9l jug. But slows down if your doing several jugs by a couple minutes.
VERY important note for this unit and its filters. The six-month filter cf is Auto flushed by the system.. but the one-year requires you to run the faucet for 15 minutes and the two-year ro 30 minutes. That's why in the video your unit is still indicating Flushing with the rows of white lights streaming downwards on display. So to summarize the CB requires 15 minutes of manual Flushing and the RO requires 30. The manual doesn't do a very good job of highlighting this point. Indicators that your system is not flush properly. Blue indicator light on faucet is flashing when being used. Face of the unit has streaming white light indicating it's still flushing instead of the TDS number readout. It would be some good food for thought that you may want to add to the description above that information.
You still do 15 min for the cf regardless. As per instructions. The machine only does like 8 min flushing. Machine flushing is very different than faucet flushing, so always do faucet flushing as per instructions.
@@rafars2246 the auto flush on the system for the cf filter only lasts 5 minutes. Outside of that it's advised to run the water until it is clear outside of that though you're basically just cutting into filter life. Worth noting other systems do have different protocol and how you deal with the filter. But no you do not need to run the system 15 minutes after it's automatically flushed on the CF filter. @@twoplustwoequalsfivethatgu4876 You do as per instructions. When you're running water you're also flushing filters. Not a matter of installing or using. Just a matter of how to read a booklet and do what is says.

The tankless systems have another large bonus, that is,saving water. If my memory serves me,it’s 2:1. In other words, you’ll receive two gallons of fresh water and only one gallon going down the drain. Please check the website for accurate info. Compare the regular system RO and this newer model. We’ve been thinking about replacing our ten year old RO system with this one or the Ispring one. They may be about the same,I haven’t gotten that far. Also, this type is easier to install. Thank you for your video.
I got this on a deal for under 400 dollars. I am sick and tired of those traditional filters and tanks etc. replacing filters is messy everytime and time is money especially for someone like me who works 10 to 12 hours everyday. This is worth it.
UPDATE Sept 2022: At 2 yrs the MRO filter must be replaced which I did. I also wrote my original review. Shortly after that replacement some black stuff came out of the dedicated faucet. I held my cup under the faucet, turned on the water and watched the black string come out of the faucet!!!! I have been suffering with abdominal cramps since Aug 1st and I realized that the problem started soon after I replaced the filters. I contacted the company. They told me I had to send a picture. I did. The same as I am attaching here. I also confirmed that installation was by a licensed plumber using all parts received from Waterdrop and that the first filter never had any such problem the entire 2 yrs. The black debris started after the replacement was installed and happed twice. Yesterday I had my water tested by an independent local entity. The results proved that the carbon filter is working perfect but the MRO is not working. A functional RO filter should resullt in TDS of less than 20 and mine was at 63 which is almost no filtration at all. They did not have the equipment to test the debris that came out of the dedicated faucet and I will have to send it off to another lab. The technician believes that the MRO filter may have been defective and that it is degrading. I included this information in my email to Waterdrop. They Waterdrop response was: "Waterdrop Representative #1 (Waterdropfilter Customer Service) Sep 11, 2022, 01:24 PDT Hi, Thanks for your reply; I really appreciate your time and effort. 1. I would guess either the black stuff was gunk growing in the faucet (when you remove all the chlorine from the water stuff can grow in the pipes and faucets), but also you didn’t mention if you flushed the water after replacing the filter which I think they say to do. Stomach cramps are almost certainly a coincidence but if not let me know, I would be interested to hear what happened.

I see that for each gallon of filtered water a gallon of waste water goes down the drain, doubling the amount of water use. Have you found this to add to your monthly water bill? Do the older tank systems have a drain water byproduct also? Thanks
I notice you have garbage disposal. So where was the hole done in the drain pipe. I only have one sink and a garbage disposal and according to water drop they recommend the waste water line hole be done on a vertical pipe, how did you install yours?
I was worried that my number ran between 6 and 3. Was that too low? A resounding NO!!! The water is great and the system is solid. Just bought my first CF filter for around $30 on Amazon.
No, WD actually is misleading people as they state "The patented lead-free Smart faucet verifies the system is working, so you’re never in doubt." The filter indicators (red, yellow, blue) are based on time only. They don't trigger based on TDS, or anything else. There's also no information as to if that timer resets if power is lost. They confirmed the status is time based, but not if it resets if power is lost. (There's no battery inside the units fyi....so ...) I wish they would have built a better TDS meter system or pressure based alerts into it.
If your water is not as hard as what they use in their benchmark, we would be replacing still good filters. My guess is they would use fairly hard water to plan for the worst case and also their sales of filters. I reset and continue using them if the TDS is still low. I noticed their TDS display is bogus. It never matches my own measuring devices and the number it displays doesn't even go down after I replaced all 3 filters.
Changed filter pressed reset. All lights turned blue, but still no numbers are coming up yet do I need to keep the reverse osmosis faucet running in order to begin to see the TDS number come up
So I changed two of the filters and the red light went to a flashing blue with the water pressure being slow for the first 2-3 sec when I turn the water on. Do you think something is wrong with it or do I need to reset something

There are duo faucets if you have only one hole to work with. It's your basic sink faucet with an attached but separate faucet for the filtered water. Found 2 options on Amazon but still shopping around.
