Piano Optical Silent System Installation

- A Silent Piano is acoustic piano fitted with a system that makes it possible to play the piano at anytime of the day or night without disturbing anyone.
The system is equipped with optical sensors underneath the keyboard and pedals. When the piano is switch to silent mode, the hammers are blocked by a mute rail. The movement of the keys are detected by the optical sensors underneath and is converted into a MIDI signal, allowing the piano to be used like a digital piano and listen using a set of headphones without effecting the touch or response.
Also the Silent Piano works via MIDI sockets can also be connected to a computer, audio equipment and external MIDI equipment.

ADSILENT is very good and is in connection with your phone/tab. Easy in regulating via the app and easy to install.

Thanks for the video. Looks complicated to install. It's not something you just go out and buy, read the manual, and install on your acoustic piano, unless you know what you're doing.

It depends on the condition of the piano. Installation cost from CA$400 to $500. Also you should buy this system from your local dealer. I use Genio Optical Silent System.

The system include an midi out?
You can use MIDI with an adapter.
Is that a petrof p100 sonatina? If it is, then is the same as mine and I have been told it is not possible to install any silent in it because of the height, it will sound bad. Is that right or my technician just lied to me?
Genio system can be installed in any piano with 88 keys except drop action (an indirect blow action) and birdcage pianos.

@@user-rx5dv8qz2p hi, yes. I made the installation. It is true that it affects a little in the key actions, lessening the key action range, so it is almost imposible playing ppp or even pp without the pedal.
The acuracy of the digital sound and touch is....regular. it es perfect for studying, practicing without interpretation.
I am pretty happy with it, because I was perfectly informed by my technician about the bad issues, but I really need to play by night, so... It is good for me, but someday I will buy a factory-installed kawai system, that is other universe, without all those problems, but very much expensive.
Of you can pay it, I highly recommend buying an Atex Kawai or an Sc3 yamaha.
