referring to ferrari having a plan g and stuff... on the german sky sports channel in singapore, the commentaters said that ferraris strategy naming process works differently. like plan a doesn't mean that it's the first and best plan they came up with and plan g doesn't mean they're running out of options.
I dont understand how k mag was not driver of the day after getting in the points on a 38 lap old medium, ,only driver to do a onestopper, and went from almost last to 8th
Alonso, He's proven something completely unexpected. Last year in an Indy car race, a car ended up over the back of another going airborne and slamming back to the track. He went on to win the race. I thought, "no way a F1 car can do that" Well I'm proven wrong. He is in a wheelie at 186mph, literally flying, lands his plane, then into the barrier and goes on to finish strong - Carlos gets a fairly slow speed spin and gets retired? So damn delicate, yet robust.... it's amazing. George is not performing up to the car, where before, he certainly was outperforming his drive. Not the case and Merc is certainly a race contender it appears. It should have been a red flag - I was shocked they didn't pit. One of the best comments I saw was about Stroll - "Lance is out Latifying Goatifi" ~ laughed like hell.
I have to disagree. Famous people ignoring Martin Brundle is my favorite part of the grid walk. Martin Brundle mistaking randos for famous people is also great.
The Alonso accident reminded me of Webber/Kovalainen in Valencia than Verstappen in terms of how it looked. Also funny that the commentators had to clarify why the rescue vehicle was safe to be on track in this instance.
The comparison to Verstappen was in relation to the penalties involved, not the appearance. Also I thought it was good the commentators made a point of how the two scenarios with the recovery vehicle are very different. It really sent home the point of how treacherous the conditions were in Suzuka, in case anyone didn't understand before what the problem was.
@@8thlvlMage oh for sure. I just thought it was a little funny how they emphasized that it was safer for the drivers to still drive here compared to suzuka, maybe in part because of what they said about Gasly at Suzuka

And Perez even lost it while it was hanging so badly, if kmag deserved the meat ball Perez did too, if Alonso got a deserving penalty Perez shiuld get one as well
@@itsmeayansheikh If I recall Perez damaged piece broke off quite soon after being damaged so race officials likely didn't have enough time to determine if it required the black and orange flag before it came off and was no longer an issue. Alonso had my immediate pick for driver of the day…astonishing crash, followed by an unbelievable finish all things considered. His experience shines. Love that guy.🏎💨
FINALLY an afternoon race for Western hemisphere fans!
We get another one next week aswell.
I prefer waking up and watching the race.
Mexico will be quite fun
Haha I prefer waking up early too! By 9am I’ve watched it & get on with my day
I hate those lol
YES TO RESPECTING MARTTIN BRUNDLE! THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THAT! and to Brad, if you're gonna walk into the F1 world, the least you could do is learn who its key people are!
NOW LETS ADD THE STUPID 30 SECOND PENALTY MADE 6 HOURS AFTER THE RACE ENDED
That is actually partially the stewards fault for not meatball flagging the Alpine or Merc and Redbull who also had flappy parts while at every other race Kmag has been flagged for scratched paint in comparison.
I was there at turn 2, amazing race, great experience for me at the track as well!
I was at Turn 11. :)
I like how Fernando was talking crap on Lewis not having mirrors this weekend. Then Fernando’s mirror falls off.
And I like how Lewis kept calling out whenever he thought Max went off, only for him to also get a black and white for track limits.
@@mr.revenger3592 are you ok? Did Lewis’ name being mentioned send you over the edge?? 😢
😂
@@mr.revenger3592 yeah,that made me giggle.
@@mr.revenger3592 I thought that was funny too.
My fav team tweet was Mercedes tweeting “AND THEYRE OFF! Both boys away cleanly!”
It's a pity that Seb didn't stay up high, but for now I'm just warmed by his performance. That was spectacular!
Blame the tractor and the long pit stop.
@@holdencross5904 I only blame the pit stop. The car is what it is, nevertheless - it could do something on that day, even if a win was not on the table, a podium might have been. It might have been...
I thought I was nuts with Brad and Martin....but apparently it was felt. We all love Martin.
Austin is definitely one of the races I enjoy most, always has great on-track action!
Watching this late cause I was there at the race this weekend. the vibes were amazing and the crowd was going absolutely crazy every time seb came by when he was in the lead
Alonso the White in a F1 race in the year 2042: "You cannot pass!’
"Don't listen to Twitter" is all encompassing life advice.
We should all take it a step further and just delete social media. Twitter is literally just societal brain cancer at this point.
Lewis drove impressively. Looking forward to next year
Dang not a single mention of Perez completing the race with a broken front wing, still able to match and better Hamilton's laptimes at the front during the end there
"He managed to have a terrible pit stop and still win the race"
this had me cracking. Just Verstappen things, I guess
Yep that's what having a car so OP it's going to eclipse the F2004 in wins will get you.
I don't remember ever seeing an F1 driver pull a wheelie and finish in the points afterwards. What a legend. Too bad for the penalty
This race was a W for all the old champions showing they still got it
When Seb pitted and I saw the stop was more then 3 sec I'm eyes rolled at the back of my head and they still haven't come back down :((((
Stroll deserves a severe penalty for that move on Alonso. 2 penalty points and 3 grid drop at Mexico is not enough
7:39 as the commentators explained, stroll's flinch was instinct; it barely registered as a deviation. it's not as if alonso steered clear to go around, as all the other overtakers did. alonso was hoping to pass right alongside stroll, within smelling distance, rather than take the customary wide route other drivers take.
Pleasantly surprised this was actually a good race
Yeah drove over my N 3010 with a rav4 after it fell out of my pocket when I got in. Barely a scratch on it, but half buried in the stones on the driveway.
fan from the track here. thought the Alonso-Stroll incident would be red flagged because we saw the crane pulling onto the track!
They were very quick to point out on broadcast the "new system" of race control informing teams and drivers of recovery vehicle on track at whichever turn in order to minimize the red flag usage.
referring to ferrari having a plan g and stuff... on the german sky sports channel in singapore, the commentaters said that ferraris strategy naming process works differently. like plan a doesn't mean that it's the first and best plan they came up with and plan g doesn't mean they're running out of options.
I dont understand how k mag was not driver of the day after getting in the points on a 38 lap old medium, ,only driver to do a onestopper, and went from almost last to 8th
Naturally, I was waiting all night for this and fell asleep 5 minutes before it came out.
Stroll genuinely can’t use his mirrors to save his life, literally!
Martin Brundle mistaking randos for famous people is also great.
love that stroll crashed into his teamate for next year.
The Stroll flick into Alonso reminded me of the Mazepin and Schumacher incident in Baku. Both on insanely long straights. So dangerous.
Feel bad for Sainz after this race. He's finally gotten use to the car and can't catch a break
I remember in high school seeing that exact Nokia phone on the highway after a rainstorm, picked it up and it still worked and was active, lol. The battery on those phones lasted forever too, like literally weeks if you didn't use it much.
Heh. I can imagine the race review podcast will be quite hilarious, with Matt a wee bit delirious after staying long into the night to record the IBR 😅
"cannot go a full race without falling off the cliff " LOL ... can't get over this one
First race I noticed the Astons and finally a shootout between Lewis and Max. Felt bad for Sainz though but an amazing race than the recent ones.
I was waiting for this all day!
Alonso absolutely robbed a few minutes ago
Literally said that a missing mirror from now on is an automatic DSQ…
I get that it can lead to dangerous situations but… jeez that’s harsh.
8:57 to illustrate that point How Ridiculous threw that phone off a 165m dam in Switzerland and the phone survived the fall
The race was at 3 am in the morning for me ☠️. I slept half way through the race
Slept at 10 and woke up at 3am too. Now I have a headache 😅
6am start here. Was nice for once :D
@@fullbass1426 lmao I couldn’t get out of bed for half an hour
not even one tweet about tim cook moving the flag like a robot ? COME OOON PLEOPLE !!!
Are we going to ignore lando's awesome drive at the end of the race.
His charge was incredible yes.
I appreciate you getting this out at 3:30
Why is it that Perez and Russell had bits of their front wing dangling AND were allowed to continue racing, when I can recall the same thing happening to Magnussen twice this year, and both times he had the meatball flag waved at him?
And Perez even lost it while it was hanging so badly, if kmag deserved the meat ball Perez did too, if Alonso got a deserving penalty Perez shiuld get one as well
@@itsmeayansheikh If I recall Perez damaged piece broke off quite soon after being damaged so race officials likely didn't have enough time to determine if it required the black and orange flag before it came off and was no longer an issue.
What did surprise me was them leaving Alonso's mirror on the track, I thought they would at least call a virtual safety car to slow the cars down and give a marshal enough time to trot out and collect it.
Looks like HAAS read our posts and marched into the stewards’ office demanding answers, while poor Alonso got a 30 second penalty! That race is still serving up drama a day later.
For me as a Vettel fan since i've been watching f1 (2010) it was absolutly great seeing him lead a race one probably last time and then showing this great racing was absolutly great
