Just recently discovered this channel. It seems like the best, clearest, most trustworthy fishing advice for the type of fish covered, of any channel I have found. The attitude and spirt of this creator just comes off as good hearted and really well intentioned, and that is in the company of so many great content creators with awesome generous helpful attitudes. This one just stands out to me. I really appreciate this channel! I have been watching the tutorials for redfish and how to use popping corks and from there branching out to Sheepshead tutorials and now Cobia. Thank you for what you are doing. Your channel deserves to be much bigger!
Saw my first cobia caught up here on Long Island just yesterday! We were out drifting for fluke and a 40" cobia came up! Makes me want to book a trip to target them down south
great video, I was looking for advice on how you fish a bait for deep water on a wreck 50 60 foot. Fish a live whitebait on the bottom or free line one or using a weight and pick it up off the bottom? I am fishing the cobia tournment in Homosassa Fl this weekend and to me the cobia are long gone but I promised my cuz I would go.
In the Chesapeake Bay that bottom rig with cut bait will get you more cow nose rays than Cobia. Been there done that. Need to use live eels. Rays won’t bother with them.
Thank you, this will be my first season attempting cobia in VB, or at all. I was open to it last year but never saw them, learned about the ray pods too late, I had seen plenty of them, just have never seen a cobia around the mouth of the bay or trolling around the CBBT, can't wait to see them for the first time. I am also going to try to use the drone to help locate the pods and clean water.
We have been out probably 4-5 times since the season started. Caught a couple that were too short to keep. Seeing all these people who are limiting out really early in the day, but we are out for 8-10 hours with maybe one bite while we are chumming. Thinking that we are doing something wrong. What are some good hot spots or any more advice?
You need to concentrate fishing North Carolina not the Chesapeake Bay where it’s easy not Florida where it’s easy but North Carolina period I get so tired of you going from Florida to Chesapeake Bay and once in a while mentioning in North Carolina
