    Have owned both Yukon and Suburban, both were reliable, never a serious problem. Agree, they are the best value in a SUV. They provide an unmatched ride by any of their rivals. Also, agree the Ford and Jeep just have too many reliability issues confirmed by friends and acquaintances who own those models.

      Reliability rating should come from mass data of hundreds of thousand people’s experience. Not just you and your friends personal experience. Consumer reports rates Yukon and suburban both below average reliability

    I was in the Limo biz for years, buying these for Airport Transfers.
    Big mileage, SoCal mountains, high gas prices and a very demanding clientele. My pick...Sequoia for longevity and heavy daily mileage.
    But for creature comforts and customer enjoyment, Lincoln Navigator. Their engines/trans aren't the strongest, but the Nav was the most requested by my regular, high filutin' clients. Just my experience from the commercial side.

      The Navigator is a very nice ride, but the current gen Tahoe/Yukon with the new independent suspension is truly on a new level for ride comfort. The LS V8s also seem to be more durable than Ford's Ecoboost and they hold their value better too.

    Great video Shari, I completely agree about the number one pick. I had a rental Tahoe XL years ago twice on different occasion and it is by far the best vehicle ever. I am normally a Toyota fan but GM really knows how to built high end cars for the money. A Corvette is another example how good GM really is and it is unfortunate they can’t built medium or low priced vehicles. The reliability on high and low end vehicles from GM is such a contrast.

    Last year I bought a 2020 Ford Expedition Max Limited despite the fact that I truly wanted a GM vehicle such as the Yukon XL and Chevy Suburban. After owning the Expedition for less than a year and a half I’m already having to replace the transmission and have had several expensive computer related repairs. Fortunately at 106,000 miles the transmission is covered under warranty, but seriously how ridiculous is it that I’m having to change it out at just over 100,00 miles. Do yourself the favor and go with one of the GM SUV’s. You may spend a bit more upfront, but the savings in repair costs and headaches will be well worth the investment.

    its a very crowded market ,gmc Yukon ,denli ,chevy, Cadillac, Lincoln , ford , jeep wagoners , Toyota , Lexus, Nissan, infinity,bmw, MB, Range Rover, riviain, hummer EV SUV most are luxury. priced

    • @rich7447
      @rich7447 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of those aren't body on frame, some only some in truck format, and some are just trim levels. Denali is the top GMC truck trim. Rivian and the Hummer are both very short bed trucks. Range Rover, Mercedes (with the exception of the G wagon) and BMW don't compete in the SUV market. All they make are unibody crossovers. Chevy, GMC, Cadillac, Ford and Lincoln have one full-size SUV each with a standard and extended wheelbase option. Jeep has a full-size, Toyota has a full-size and Lexus has a slightly smaller full-size and Nissan/Infiniti have one full-size.
      So when you remove the re-badged options you have 1 GM and 1 Ford in either SWB or LWB, 1 Jeep, 1 Nissan and 2 Toyotas. That's only 8 options and 2 of those are just LWB versions of 2 others.

    The Expedition Max and Chevy Suburban/GMC Yukon XL are the best body on frame suv's. They are proven and does everything a large adventurous family wants. Easy to work on and cheaper when they do fail. Obviously nowadays its a role of the dice on reliability but most have great results considering the numbers. The Toyota Sequoia is a great looking vehicle but is out matched in several areas in this segment. The luxury variants are not worth the extra price. The Nissan is too behind.

    SUV’s with turbos will not have good durability! Most turbos die around 125k miles so plan on $3k to $4k to replace each turbo! Plus turbo engines love to burn holes through their valves so avoid vehicles with turbos or you will be laying out large amounts of money if you keep a vehicle more than 5 years! I do not think the Toyota will have great longterm durability.
