So, I was making the cross. I don't know really what happened. My brain took over my body and my mind floated away with your guitar. Before I knew it, I completed my goal. I'm so proud of myself. Thank you. I love it when I find content that I didn't know I needed until after I was done watching it. Your voice is so soothing, I think that might be part of it.
Thank you for this tutorial! It was super easy to follow. I love that you showed how many open and closed rings you had for each stage and the fact that you went slow enough for me to keep up. A lot of the Chainmail tutorials I've found either go to fast, you can't see what's going on or they don't give good instructions.
The cross I made took a few more rings to beef it up, but it looks super good! I used stainless steel, 17 gauge rings on a 1/4 inch diameter and brass, 14 gauge rings on a 5/16 inch diameter center.
I used 4 rings in between the byzantine and connecting the arms and leg of the cross. I used 3 brass rings on each end instead of one big ring and 2 small. I also used 3 brass for the center ring.

Yvonne, I love your channel and your tutorials! You inspired me. I live in Canada so was happy to order from the Ring Lord. Got the ring sizes from a bunch of your tutorials and I did this project first. I wish I could add a picture here to show you but can't seem to add one from my iPad! Anyway thank you!
Yvonne, I made two of these, and they both turned out really nice. One of them though I started out with 14-gauge 10-mm rings for the center that you attached the 12 18-gauge rings to, and that made it really stable. Therefore, I didn't need to add the a 2nd ring for the final part of the weave where you add the rings to the 4 corners. I really enjoyed this tutorial, and I love the design. You're a terrific designer. Looking forward to your next chainmaille tutorial.

Use 2 large rings at start where you add first 12 , makes it very firm.
First, I love your tutorials! I've learned so much!
Second, I tried this pattern and I think I got something wrong... getting just the second ring of the "outer circle" (last step before adding the "bail" ring where a chain would attach) was nearly impossible, much less a third ring. It LOOKS the same as yours but was an absolute battle. Thoughts?

Yvonne; Great tutorial! I know from the comments that you make your own rings, and you buy your colored rings from the Ring Lord. The Ring Lord uses SWG (if I'm not mistaken), so for the rings you make yourself, are you using SWG as well? Thanks for all the great tutorials, I love the Elfstar pendant as well.

Wow! Thanks for the prompt reply :) I love your videos and I think you do some great work. You were absolutely right with what you said about getting overwhelmed. I think that sometimes, especially with new "weavers", we can get overwhelmed by the amount of rings we have on the bench and the sheer number of twists and turns that can be made. Your advice was spot on - just step back, take a little break and come back to it. It has helped me numerous times. Keep up the great work, and I hope to see more of you in the future! BTW - Subbed!

Yay!!! I make a lot of my bracelets and other jewelry from aluminum and enameled copper, but I also love stainless steel, bronze, german silver, titanium, niobium..... all of the metals have their pros and cons, lol, but aluminum is my go-to

Yvonne, I love your "TH-cam" Video's you make it look easy and some of this is not! Are these SWG or AWG rings and sure which you would have put the total number needed of each. Also is this ID or OD?

Hello Yvonne! I'm trying to make your beautiful cross and I was wondering if you were able to give me the dimension of the rings in milimeters and please mention if it's the inner portion of the jump ring.

First you need to say either large or small don't use small then the 3/16 it's very confusing and the way you had it laid out nothing made sense I was so confused I just quit the video and found another one
