Mil gracias Alexandra for such a wonderful portrayal of Mexico and a color we love deeply. Glad to see I am not your only Mexican fan. I agree with a fellow country man in the comment down, I wish you could’ve mentioned the great architect Luis Barragán, but I know you cant do it all. Again, gracias ‘mija!
I was thinking the same thing, where is Luis Barragán? I love how color is so important in his design but not just the gray and black that seem to be the color staples of so much architecture.
In Mexico, men are not threatened by a color. The paint store mixed my paint by hand and the employee said that it needed to be more pink even though I was going for purple. I don't like the end result, but every Mexican male contractor/architect/friend that's seen the ceiling, loves it. The walls are gold. Viva Mexico.
@@epualc The bedroom ceiling is not as interesting as the murals I've done, but I'm waiting until after a renovation to put a mural on the hallway ceiling.
Thank you very much Alejandra for doing such good research on Mexican pink. I really like this color, especially in summer. Greetings from Mexico City. I love your videos!
Alexandra - This was fantastic - I love pink in all its shades - and sure enough Mexican style as well - it's all over my home - and guess what - Moroccan style as well!
Rosa Mexicano with the cobalt blue 😍 it’s just a dream combo ❤ I’m Mexican American and as such my home is bright yellow. Warm, golden walls in one living room (and a feature wall in sea foam green? I’m not sure where I was going with that😂) and a yellow kitchen but a warm orange tint in my main living room. Theres obviously the last supper, Jesus and Lady of Guadalupe in our home ❤ I have many plants where sun shines. For YEARS my house walls were bare and white, I’m over it! I want my house to be cheerful, fun and filled with the excitement and extravagance that my culture gives me. No more dishes of china, I want dishes and mugs of Barro (clay) designed by artisans of my parents hometown. I live in a cold wet climate but when I go home I want the warmth of my motherland. I’m so excited you covered Mexican Pink, it’s such a great color.
If you like this type of use of color, frontal and intense and with a very common identity in Mexico, the architecture of Luis Barragan usually has that color palette, who by the way won the Pritzker Prize, for his works mainly in the second half of the 20th century.
This video was so hearwarming. Rosa mexicano is indeed an indeleble part of mexican cuture, and this whole script speaks about it with respect and a whole lot of research. Thank you Alexandra and the writers at Wayfair for writing something so well thought out, putting into words what most people feel in their hearts but are unable to verbalize
Thank you for this stunning exhibition of the lovely rosa mexicano. Years ago I realized how much I like pinks and reds with a hint of blue (purple) after having blueberry ice cream at my grandparents'. Ever after I've called those colors blueberry pink.
I LOVE this video! So interesting. I’m going to look for your other videos in this series. I’ve been watching your other videos for awhile. Great work!
Actually saw a pink house on the Cape and it is a beautiful house color for a brave soul. Remember pink in bathrooms? The sink, the tub, the toilet? Almost always in a girls room. A pink accent wall or rug or piece of furniture would work for most homes.
I don’t do pink, but that’s because I am pink! A peaches and cream ruddy redhead 😂 But raised and living in LA still, I do lots of blues and greens, in all tones. 🐠
No pudieron conseguir a una persona Mexicana para este segmento? Tan si quiera le hubieran enseñado como decir Rosa Mexicano, bien. Missed opportunity on Wayfair’s part. Alexandra Gater has a great sense of style but this opportunity would’ve been more fitting for a Latinx creator.
This was very insightful and interesting, but I'm having a really hard time listening to Alexandra's "Influencer Girl" style of talking and presenting. I find it very grating; sounds like the host of an over the top American children's TV show. Less hyper/less samey rhythm/less squeaky intonation would do wonders - not trying to be mean, I just genuinely want to turn the video off even though I really want to keep watching.
@@marleneg.7128if you say so. It bothers me and I wasn't mean about it. You don't need to jump down people's throats with "then don't watch" for every bit of criticism, intonation isn't something you're born with. Instead of not tuning into videos I find interesting, I'd rather let people know what turns me off. They're free to take it or leave it just as much as I am.
Mexicans are mexicana (woman) or mexicano (man) translated to spanish language, we use mexicana/mexicano for things as well depending If its masculine or femenine Word (Mexican food - comida mexicana)
I couldnt stop thinking about poor cochinillas, no animal its safe with humans. Im going to need more carefull about buying things with that color, I hope now there is a sinthetic way to achive it.
What? Magenta is a) synthetic b) invented by the french c) renamed by the italians in the 1800s. Mexico’s use of this dye predates this by centuries smh
How would you incorporate Mexican pink into your home?
I'm mexican so I would do a whole facade 😂

So so happy that Alexandra shows our Mexican true colors "Rosa Mexicano".😊🎉
My grandmothers house in Mexico is pink. I always thought it was so cool. I grew up in California, in the suburbs where everything is greige.
No one better than Alexandra to talk about pink 😊
She's an expert in all things pink!

Dear Alexandra, I think you would love Mathias Goeritz and Luis Barragán's architecture 💕

Nope, its actually called Rosa Mexicano

the problem is that Magenta Italy created it first
I love how enthusiastic and cheerful you sound when they killed bugs for color. Vegans don’t like this. Don’t come for me! I’m just providing facts.
