“B.. bu.. but opportunities doe!!!” What happened to RG3? Russel Wilson? Can Newton?? Warren Moon?? And the many other black QB’s in college and pros that were given the OPPORTUNITY to play the position??
I mean I have no problem with any blacks trying to play the position!! At all!! But nobody with any sense believes over the last 40 plus years blacks weren’t given every opportunity to play quarterback if they tried!
When all evidence points to not being generally as good at something as another group… PLAY THAT TRUSTY OL’ VICTIM CARD RIGHT?!!
😂😂 How about innovative contributions over the last 800 years and…. Well never mind ;) We’ll just leave that here and be nice! ;) Enjoy the game next week!

As a white kid in the Midwest in the 80s, I became an Eagles fan after watching them lose that wretched Fog Bowl.
The fact that they had a black QB caught my eye. Sadly, it was very unusual in those days. Randall Cunningham was electric on the field. I soon fell in love with our great defense, and recognized the coaching deficiencies under which we labored. (I was a kid, but smart enough to know what I was seeing.)
Coaches and players came and went, but I always felt good that my team neither had a problem with a black starting QB running the show, nor with a black Head Coach running the team. The NFL has been just as slow to adapt as society in general, but the Eagles have always felt to me to be making an effort, even when few others were.

If Patrick Mahomes wins this year he will be the first Quarterback since 1999-00 Kurt Warner to win MVP & the Super Bowl in the same season. Being his second MVP & likely second SB MVP, he will be the greatest black QB ever. He’s inching towards that top 5 QB status as well.

For everyone saying it shouldn’t be the main story that there are two black quarterbacks, I’d like to state on behalf of everyone in the world, we agree with you. If there wasn’t a history of setbacks black people in this nation face then we wouldn’t have to worry about it. But at the end of the day this context matters. Kaepernic got fired for protesting for an issue central to the black community. Years later we now get two watch two black men to play the that same games biggest night. Maybe even the biggest night of television. If y’all have an issue with us mentioning the issues they had to overcome, then take up issue with the people who placed those obstacles in the way. If not then I refer you to the words of Unk Shay-Shay “Kick rocks!”

While its understandable that given the history and personal experiences one might be tempted to openly talk about themselves in a moment of great success (in this case them being black qbs). I think it's a missed opportunity. Again I get that when you finally achieve something as a person, or a collective, especially after so much perceived strife. That it might be tempting to vocalize all the built up anguish. But in doing so it reduces the chance you had at appearing greater. Because to do something remarkable and to keep quiet. And then to do it again and again, repeating great success after great success. Never uttering a word of that which people suspect you want to utter. That is the greatest form of victory. That will truly be transformative for yourself and you as a collective. It is in a way the ultimate psychological test because its so hard to not let out the emotions.

I love my Chiefs but I'm just as scared if not more scared of the Eagles this year than the Bengals. Monster O-line AND D-line. AMAZING at Corner, and they have an offense you need to be afraid of too. They could VERY well put 38 up if it comes to that. I love my Chiefs.. and I never hated the Eagles. My dream super bowl of two teams I LOVE! Go Chiefs!
Also love when Skip and Shannon just have a nice conversation when they both agree on something and they are just enjoying talking about it to each other. Skip gets under my skin at times but damn this is the show I go to every time.

They aren't "believing" in them more. It's a simple matter of talent.
These two quarterbacks are clearly mentally stronger and sharper than most quarterbacks.
It has nothing to do with "giving an opportunity", it's simply a matter of better training from the ground up.

@@SosaA11 there is a problem with it. Every time a black dude does something bad Shannon says they won’t see it as a person making a mistake they see it as a black man doing what all black men do and how unfair that is. How come when a black man does something good they don’t see it as a man doing something good, but as a black man doing something good any different? When everything a black person does comes down to their skin color good or bad it’s a problem. You won’t solve issues when even the good things black people do come down to the fact it’s because they are black. It’s just racism in reverse.
