SOURDOUGH WITH KEFIR IN 24 HRS-THM FRIENDLY

    Here is a quick way to make a sourdough starter in 24 hrs.
    add in a clean jar- 1 cup each of flour and kefir stir it all together and let sit for 24 hrs. If it is to thin ad more flour or thick, add more kefir. You will need to feed it each day a few times to keep it going.

    I've been having bad luck with sourdough starter. I tried it last year but it was during the cold season so it never grew. I tried again a month ago but maybe my flour was not fresh enough?
    I make kefir also so I googled if it's ok to make sourdough starter while making kefir and ran across ideas to make it with kefir! I had to TH-cam it since I'm visual so I came across your video (and others). Yesterday, my starter doubled in size!! I am beyond stoked!!
    I started with 5g organic rye flour (in case it was a fail) and 10g kefir milk because 5g was too dry. Last night which was approximately 24hrs, it doubled in size! I'm converting to water now and this morning it's still well and has doubled within 8hrs.

    Very good. I'm going to try. I've never made a sourdough starter. Because of the waiting time frame. This method seems to fit me. Txs so much 😊

    I cannot get my starter to grow that quickly, kefir maybe my new go to.

    What kind of flour?

      To keep it on plan for THM you need to use wheat or white wheat. For non THM sourdough you can use any kind.
