  • Here I used Magic Eraser and alcohol to remove the dirt and existing clear coat from the playfield to prepare for paint touch ups and 2PAC.
In this series I will document my restoration efforts on this 1973 Bally Circus EM Pinball Machine. From being found abandoned in a storage locker to perfect working order.
Check out my EM playlist for the other videos.
    Thanks for watching.

That looks so much better. Can't wait until you clear coat it. I think it's going to come out really nice.

Clear coating is my project this weekend. Did the first coat last night. Need to get up and do the second this morning and the third tonight. Then final sanding tomorrow.

I’m about to tackle a 1965 bank a ball in similar condition. How many hours do you have in this video?

Nice project. It took 3-4 hrs. It’s not too difficult. A couple things to watch out for. Use 90%+ alcohol. Watch that you don’t get into the paint. It’ll be gone before you even know it’s happening. Keep in mind, this works because the factory clear coat is dissolved in the alcohol. As such, if you hit the playfield like this, you must apply more clear coat. Or, even with wax, the ball will eat the paint very quickly.
Good luck. Let me know how you make out.

That’s really cool but when are you getting back to legos?

Sooner or later. We had a baby 3 months ago and my wife took most of the stuff that was downstairs and stuffed it into the lego rooms upstairs. So I’m going to have to organize all her BS before I can do anything. It’s really frustrating.
