I was on 1.25x speed for almost the entire video without realizing and was both extremely impressed by the band and very amused by the director's cartoonish movements
I remember in 8th grade ('94-'95). There was end of year concert for all thr bands. The combined 6th grade band which comprise of 100 students of at least 3 different classes. They had trouble finding seats for all of them. They were so many clarinetists.
I understand because back in middle school band is divided up into 3 classes/levels. Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced. When I was in beginning band which was 6th grade, we ended up having 6 clarinets because 2 of them got moved up to intermediate and 3 of them moved schools. When I was in 7th grade and in intermediate band 5 clarinet players and by time the first concert came around and all the different level bands were in the band room, I looked over and saw so many beginning clarinet players that it blew my mind how many clarinet players there were. And alas by the second semester of 7th grade I was moved into advanced band and then there were 3 clarinet players including me
@@EdwardK-fw6io Im a clarinet player too and every different band class I've been in or band performance I've watched, there's always like 20 clarinet players. And I don't blame them because I chose to play it because you blew into it and it made sound and required little effort in doing so so why not. I guess they probably thought the same or similarly
I love looking at this and just watching what I missed out on before I started going to Bristow, every time Mr. Morello plays it reminds me that I was learning Frosty the Snowman at the same time lol go band! Fourth period for the win!!!! Percussion’s where it’s at! Now to go watch the Great Locomotive Chase to help it get more views haha
Crazy to realize a lot of them are already adults, this brings back memories from band concerts i used to play in, I swear sometimes childhood can go just like that without you knowing ❤
This band would have done just about anything for their director. The current band at that school loves him. He can’t go anywhere in town without kids coming up to him to talk.
You can tell when there’s a good teacher. All the kids respect him a lot I can tell. I will say one thing tho, the glockenspiel player was playing with too much velocity. Great work guys, very impressive
Scrolling through the comments I noticed that everybody has an issue with something. Someone said Mr. Morello was conducting too slow, someone else said he was conducting too fast, make up your mind people, don’t sit here complaining about tempo when you don’t quite know what you want and just don’t complain about the performance quality, just enjoy the music and if you can’t then just don’t click onto this, it’s very simple
Love that this program didn’t get lost in COVID. Mr Morello is a celebrity in our town. He loves what he is doing and it shows - his bands will always do their best. ❤
Bruh, my middle schools 8 grade band had 4 alto saxes, a Bari sax, 5 trumpets, 3 (which ended up becoming 2), 2 trombones, 1 euphonium, 1 tuba, 1 bass clarinet, no horns, 5 clarinets, and 6 (which turned into 5) percussionists, how many students are at that middle school? My high school band doesn’t even have that many! We have 3 trumpets, 1 trombone, 2 euphoniums, a tuba, 2 percussionists, 4 flutes, 2 clarinets, 2 tenor saxes, 3 alto saxes, 2 horns, and a bass clarinetist who now plays the Contralto Clarinet. -_-
There were about 11 people in my high school band and about 24 in middle school only because they forced all middle school students to pick band or choir. This band is crazy big.
thats just your seventh and eighth band. holy thats like our whole high and middle school x4
jenna crowell that’s sad *watches one of the best marching bands in my state march*
Our bands better 2 years later I’m in Bristow band and sadly or conductor has no hair now
Timefly my middle school band and high school band is superior
Timefly rip mr. morello’s hair 😔
This band has more kids than my whole school
That band is huge!!!!
Lucas Alexander it’s big but really fun to be a part of!
A movie orchestra is bigger.
It’s bigger now I’m in it

Man being in band in this school must be like a trend. In my school I’m in band and we’re the “nerds” of the school
I know right. My sister always made fun of me calling me a “band nerd”. It’s so annoying
I’m actually in this school and it’s really cool to be in band.
whats wrong with that am in 5 grade and what to go to band in 6grade
@Tessekkei OH MY GOODNESS SAME
@@kristi3766 do band trust me its fun as heck even though yes people probably are gonna call you a band nerd but dont let that annoy you!!!
That is a lot of flutes
Abby O my middle has 3 flutes
ER Barnette what!!!!!!
You think that's bad?! My school has two flute players. However, we're separated into two classes, so I'm the only flute in my class!
Anime_Galaxy mine has 6 flutes
ER Barnette same lol
Love it when the brass section raises their horns.
I was on 1.25x speed for almost the entire video without realizing and was both extremely impressed by the band and very amused by the director's cartoonish movements
omg, you make my middle school band look like crap. how much did you practice?
Bobbi Rahn they practice everyday, I’m in the chior
every day
We use this as practice I’m in 8th grade
Well they should practice more if they can’t play their songs well
There better

i can just tell that the band director is such a distinguished gentleman by his voice
Lucky students! They have an excellent band Teacher, who obviously had them put in the work.
